PitchBlack-Recovery - Pixel C Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was looking for a new theme for TWRP 3.3.0.0 and came across PitchBlack-Recovery https://sourceforge.net/projects/pitchblack-twrp/
Looks very interesting. Has any one installed this on their Pixel C? It says that there is a "Universal flash-able file for all variant of a device".

[Q] Ubuntu Touch on M7VZW?

I'm running MultiROM Manager in combination with TWRP to run CM11 nightly and CarbonROM. I downloaded the Ubuntu daily preinstalled .zip from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-touch/daily-preinstalled/current/ and then flashed it and the flashing failed. So I downloaded the M7-ubuntu-conf.zip from http://d-h.st/nso (in accordance with the official forum) and then flashed it and then flashed the Ubuntu daily preinstalled again and it still didn't work. What am I doing wrong? I downloaded it from cdimage because that is a bit more up-to-date than the forum as cdimage has 14.10 Utopic Unicorn while the forum has 13.10 Saucy Salamander. Do I need to download the Saucy Salamander .zip from the forum in order for it to work? If so, can I update it to 14.10 (or at least 14.04 Trusty Tahr) like I did with Ubuntu desktop (downloaded 13.10 to my laptop and updated to 14.04 before 14.04's official release)?
Thanks!

As a general rule, if something does not explicitlly state it is designed to run on the Verizon version of the HTC One M7, then it probably will give you nothing but headaches if you attempt to install it on a Verizon-issued HTC One M7.
Stick to downloads offered in threads in this Forum.

If I edit build.prop (obviously backing it up first) and change all the instances of "m7vzw" (excluding in the CyanogenMod ROM name) to "m7" would it still work? If it wouldn't work, would I be able to change some sort of file inside TWRP to make it identify my phone as an m7 and not an m7vzw?

Come on! Faking your phone's ID might enable you get past some ID-ch. ecking by an installation script, but neither the software nor the hardware will be altered to be compatible one with the other. All you will accomplish is putting lipstick on a pig.

"lipstick on a pig" lol I haven't heard that one before. Anyway, is there a Ubuntu Touch M7VZW ROM out there and if not, could I alter the ROM to install on my phone? Clearly it won't be perfect, as not even the M7 ROM at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Devices/M7 is perfect.

If you're a developer, go ahead and modify some ROM to suit the M7VZW's requirements. If you aren't, then delve into the score of ROMs already offered in this Forum.
The only Ubuntu Touch you'll find that sort of works on the Verizon m7, is located here.

I have still been working on it but i have had many issues that are taking time to resolved but marked it as abandoned as i do not have much time to work on it so it will be awhile probably wont be stable until end of year.
If what you're trying to install (aside from an app) does not specifically say it is valid for the Verizon edition of the HTC One (aka m7vzw), you'd best assume it ain't gonna work.

[ANNOUNCEMENT] Pixel C and Nexus 9 now supported by Remix OS 3 (Android Marshmallow)

Since Pixel C came on the market, many of you have asked for a version of Remix OS you could run on the big, productive tablet from Google.
At long last, it's here!
Remix OS, based on Android Marshmallow is now supported for Pixel C as well as Nexus 9.
Tutorial on how to flash onto your device:

Please let us know what you think!
Does the new tom for pixel c support hdmi or displayport out from the type c USB support?
Does this support LTE versions of Nexus 9. If yes gotta try this
How to update from remix os 2 to 3?

fleshed it last night on nexus 9 rooted with wugfresh working great so far thanks.
One thing can't use google now launcher or find home under settings?
Just flashed this to my N9. I was lazy and used the flash-all batch file, everything went fine. Also was lazy and used WugFresh Nexus Root Toolkit to root (without installing recovery, and when booted into temporary TWRP selected "keep system read-only"). Everything went fine. I'm rooted on RemixOS 3.0 and loving it!
I came from the Android N Dev Preview Build 4 with no issues. I'd read that in the past some users had to downgrade their firmware before they were able to install RemixOS, but this was not the case for me.
I'd like to extend a HUGE thank you to Jide and the RemixOS team! You guys are doing great things!
Is GPS and LTE working on you guys?
LTE not working in my Nexus 9. It says no SIM all the time. I tried to insert 2 different SIMs and no luck.

Me too
so far i like remixOS on N9 works well only thing I don't care for lancher3 wish i could use another.
I had retired my Nexus 9 from daily use but MM build of remixOS seems to have given it a new lease of life
Only drawback so far seems to be the lack of LTE support but it isn't a major issue for me at the moment as I'm using another tablet when on the move.

How do you do this?
Heya Guys,
I've realised a few people may want to know if this ROM works with the LTE model - well yes it does!
Install the ROM as given in the instructions, then you need to download the vendor.img file from the Google website -https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images - then extract the vendor.img and flash that to your Nexus 9 LTE.
Once you have done this and it is successful, ensure that you set the APN settings for your SIM card (you can find this info on the website of your provider) then you aer good to go.
I'm personally loving Remix OS 3.0 and really feel as though my Nexus 9 has true purpose and is beginning to fulfil its function for which I intended!

First noob questions

Fine, I bought from aliexpress a Zuk Z2 and I have few questions:
1st How can I find which model I have, as far I know, there are Chinese and Indian models, which one I have and how to understanding it?
2nd Are there some differences between those device, chinese and indian? or can I flash each other rom?
3rd My device came with a custom rom 2.0.069 ST and I couldnt arrange apps in the way which I'd like, are all the ZUI ROMS like this, or is it some bug or specific for that rom?
And most important thing, where do I started reading about this amazing device?
thanks for all help. :good:
this place is pretty dead in terms of engagement, go to zukfans.eu
I have a ZUK Z2 (not pro) and just went through the process of flashing new ROMs. I used zukfans.eu, xda-developers.com and youtube videos to learn about the device. I found zukfans to be better to figure out getting in developer mode and using adb command line prompts and was able to flash the stock rom 2.0.069ST. This allowed me to update to the latest version. As I don't speak Chinese (and lots of apps were still in Chinese), I really wanted a true multilanquage Android ROM, not a ZUK skinned android ROM. For this I used the XDA instructions to load the Cyanogen 13 ROM which works very nicely, all in English with all apps like Google Play working.
Some notes:
1. Look for youtube videos like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iinsQCuZr9Q
2. Flashing stock ROMs: http://zukfans.eu/community/threads/howto-flash-a-stock-zui-rom-zuk-z2-z2131-only.104/
3. Flashing CM13 custom ROM:http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z2-pro/development/6-0-1-unofficial-cyanogenmod-13-t3504123
3. Remember: For custom ROMs: Unlock bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z2-pro/development/how-bootloader-zuk-z2-pro-t3415392
4. For ADB command line prompts I loaded Minimal adb and fast boot to load the unlock bootloader. img I got from ZUK
With both the ZUK z2 and TWRP I got Chinese as the language that came up. Don't panic, just look on the web for youtube videos that show you how to get to English.
Hope this helps.
A few more word here:
1. TWRP from raimondomartire doesn't work for me, could be difference in CN version's build.prop or something else causing the problem, I am not sure. But I did get CM13 falshed by using a TWRP compiled by other Chinese guy
2. CM13 from mauronofrio works great, but I do get some random reboot sometimes

Need some simple help

I've bricked my mate SE, I'm familiar with flashing but the name schemes from team MT is throwing me off. I bricked my phone when it was on EMUI 5.1.
From the Multi Tool it tells me I need 5 images. I can find 3 out of the 5, I'm missing the cust.img, and userdata.img(I assume this one is optional).
I've unpacked the UPDATE.APP files and can't find any that have a cust.img inside.
BND-L34CC567B330 (8.0.0.330) <--- Is this for EMUI8 ?
If so, where can I find one for EMUI5.1
I apologize if this are newby questions, Never worked with a Huawei before.

The full ota files are not really full. And you were on 5.1 so you should use nougat to unbrick, not Oreo. The version you mentioned you are pulling files from is Oreo.
You have two options as I see it.
Not sure how bricked you are so that makes it more difficult.
But search team mt for (bond-l34) you will find mate se nougat rom b130. And it should have all the images inside .
Other option is to use the images pulled from someone else's device. I have links to these backups. If you want

Can you provide link to the backups in case it doesn't work?

Question Does official TWRP support the flip 3?

Hi mates!
I have seen this article for unofficial TWRP 3.6 for the Flip Z 3. Does this mean the official 3.6 or the new 3.7.0 is not compatible? Is that the reason that he made a unofficial version for the flip or is that for something else?
Otherwise I'm going to install the newest twrp and magisk on my new flip 3. Do you have any tips like specific versions I need?
Many thanks

Hi,
unfortunately there is no official TWRP for the Flip 3 (or the Fold 3)
the TWRP recovery that you linked to is from one of our members here on XDA who managed to get it working
Thank you! I have seen a lot of guides on the internet to just flash twrp on the flip, that's why I was so confused everyone was so happy in the linked article. I was not able to find anything that the flip 3 was not officially supported, thank you for letting me know =)
