Huawei Watch 1 not recognized by PC - Huawei Watch

Hey guys,
I'm trying to root my Huawei watch 1 since a week but with no success. The problem is that I'm not even able to unlock the bootloader.
As stated in the title the watch is not recognized at all by the PC, when I plug it in nothing happens not even a sound. I tried with at least 5 different computers running Windows 10 and one computer running Linux (Ubuntu) and I also tried different cables. In Windows Device Manager there is no sign of the watch and in Ubuntu using "lsusb" all the usb ports are shown as empty.
The watch is working perfectly btw with the latest Wear Os update (2.23.0.238044309) and Android 7.1.1
Is there anything I can do to make the PC recognize the watch ? Or are there any workaround to root the watch / unlock the bootloader ?
Any help would be appreciated

Have you enabled Developer Options and ADB debugging on your watch? If not, here's how to do it:
Open the Settings menu on the watch.
Scroll to the bottom of the menu. If no Developer Options item is provided, tap About.
Tap the build number 7 times.
From the Settings menu, tap the Developer Options item.
Enable ADB debugging.

Thank you for the suggestion ! I already did it before and unfortunately it didn't change anything to the fact that the watch isn't recognized by the pc.

Can't get Nexus 7 to show up on computer

Shows up on my laptop but not on my desktop, have tried back and front USB ports
have uninstalled USB drivers, reinstalled USB drivers (universal adbdriversetup6 downloaded from xda sources)
downloaded android SDK manager and installed whatever USB stuff it had there
used USBdeview to remove any nexus 7 related things and then re-install USB drivers
Cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on... can anyone help me please
When I plug it in my desktop it makes the sound like something got connected... even has the safely remove hardware thing with nexus 7 there, but nothing in my computer
also have tried with/without USB debugging
tried removing my rom and flashing stock etc
Nothing has worked so far
and yes forgot to put in the title but this is for the Nexus 7FHD 2013
Is there a chance you are using usb3.0 port and can switch to usb2.0?
I would suggest you backup, flash stock, and redo your driver deinstall/install on stock. Try to get it working there first. Make sure USB debugging is disable on stock.

Driver instal with WinXP
I went around with this problem after both my Win7 laptop and WinXP desktop both recognized my N7 2013 the first time I connected to them. I had no problem dragging and dropping files.
I had then returned the tab back to BB for a exchange for another. This time after setting up the tab and setting the MTP file toggle and USB settings correctly......The Win7 laptop worked find and recognized the N7 just like it did on the first tab. But now the WinXP desktop did not work and only saw the N7 as a ABD device.
You may already have the correct drivers (if not those are available here in several posts). You just have to direct windows driver update to the correct place for the MTP driver. Here is how i did it.
1. Open up the Device Manager on your PC and locate the Android device it sees. Select the update driver option and you get to the "Welcome to the Hardware Update Wizard" screen.
2. In this window it asks "Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for software?" Select the 3rd option ' No, not at this time"
3. In the next window "This wizard helps you install software for...." Select the 2nd option "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)
4. In the "Please choose your search and installation options" window... go down to the bottom and select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install" option.
5. Now finally the window we need..... "Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware" The "show compatible hardware" button should be selected...if not check that box. You should see 2 choices in the "Model" area..... Google Nexus ADB Interface" and what we need to select " MTP Device" click on the MTP Device and hit next......it should install and your Nexus 7 should then show up properly.
Hope this works for all that have had a hard time as I did....I just found it odd after getting a replacement N7 my XP desktop did not recognize it as it did to the original one I used the day prior.

Just go in settings then storage and then computer usb connection by opening preferences in storage and then make sure mtp is checked.
Thank you guys SO MUCH for the help... I actually just returned my unit to staples because those POS wont give me a price adjustment vs google play
Will buy another one from google play and follow steps in the thread!

If nothing else here has helped you solve this issue, check my thread, it should be of some help to you...
I'm having an issue where I can connect to my laptop in debug mode, but I'm not able to connect in the MTP mode with debug turned off. I expected to be able to mount the device storage in either mode.
Is that correct? If so, any ideas? I do notice I can't seem to get the MTP driver to stay in device manager.

Having Problem Connect Nexus 5X to PC using a USB cable

When I connect Nexus 5X to a Windows 10 PC, I can't see it in File Explorer.
Many people said that one should change the option from charging only to MTP in the USB connection notification, appeared when plugged in. But I don't even have that notification, and cannot find the option anywhere else.
In Devices and Printers, there's a Nexus 5X under Unspecified; and in Device Manager, I can see a "ACER ADB Interface" there which I assume is for Nexus 5X. I tried to download Nexus driver from Google buy it seems is the same with the ACER ADB thing and is not helping.
Any tips or solutions? Thanks in advance!
PS. First xda thread started by me, yay!
UPDATE: After awhile, maybe it's because I slid the screen while connected, the notification did pop up. But EVEN after I chose MTP, there's still nothing in my File Explorer...
Hiya,
I had the same thing happen on my 5X. I was only able to get to the "Use USB for Charge / MTP" dialog by enabling Developer Mode.
To do that: Go to Settings / About Phone, and scroll all the way to the bottom.
Tap "Build number" seven times. On the sixth tap, you should see a message that says "one more tap will unlock Developer mode" or something to that effect.
Back-arrow to the Settings main menu.
Click on Developer options
Look for Networking / Select USB Configuration.
Choose the mode you want.
The notification should appear when you plug in the USB cable to your computer.

could be a driver issue?
download and install latest usb drivers.
Go to My Computer> Properties>Device Manager> Find the android device>Right Click update driver software>Browse My Computer>set to folder where you have usb driver saved and go from there?
You can also try to let me pick (instead of browse local folders) and pick the google ADB interface from there.
I have also had success in the past using other software (PdaNet) to manage the whole installataion of drivers; but this adds software to both phone and computer ... may or may not be useful.
After re-reading your first post its definately driver related. It shouldnt say Acer just ADB Interface or google adb interface.

Check Device Manager, is it listed as ACER Device? It probably is. It happened to me. Select the device, mouse right, update driver, choose "let me pick a driver" or something simmilar. Then you should get a list of compatible drivers and 2 entries, the current ACER driver and some generic USB driver. Choose the generic USB driver. That did the trick for me.
This i got from reddit . I had the same problem today this link helped me .. hope it helps you too

@arpan_pratik, Thank you! You are the best! This is exactly what my problem is and I solved it using your suggestion!
Although I didn't yet find any useful information from reddit regarding my issue, you must used some magic keywords
@The_Automator, thank you, too! It indeed is a driver issue. I tried many times to update the driver or uninstall the ACER ADB driver, but none of them worked. Didn't realize that it is Windows chose the wrong default driver. Don't know why, maybe it's because I installed adb before?
So, for the record, here are some key points to solve the problem:
The wrong driver for my Nexus 5X showed in Device Manager is ACER Device\ACER ADB Interface
No use to install Nexus driver from Google, even use "Browse my computer for driver software" and search the extracted Google driver folder. Windows will say the driver is up to date.
So I have to do this: In Device Manager -> RMB on ACER Device\ACER ADB Driver -> Properties -> Update Driver -> Browse my computer for driver software -> Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer -> check "Show compatible hardware" -> choose "MTP USB Driver" (this is a Microsoft driver under "standard MTP Device" category) -> Problem solved!
Then I can find my Nexus 5X in Device Manager here: Portable Devices\Nexus 5X
After the right driver installed, if I try again to update the driver using ""Search automatically for updated driver software", Windows 10 will actually install the wrong driver (ACER ADB) back!
Thank you all in this thread to help me exclude other possibilities, lock down the culprit and finally solve the issue!
Just got a Nexus 5X, and I'm having the same problem under Windows 10. I don't see an Acer device in Device Manager though, I see a "Nexus 5X" under "Other devices" with a yellow triangle exclamation mark.
When I tried following the steps, I don't have "Show compatible hardware" nor "MTP USB Driver". When I tried installing "MTP Device", I get an error "The install class is not present or is invalid."

Yeah, and it's been a while so I don't remember exactly, but I think it was a different cable that made it work.

If you have other android devices that is working on your PC, you'll notice that the driver used is the "wpdmtp.inf" you can get it on your 64-bit Windows on this location:
"C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_wpdmtp.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.16299.15_none_42867195f7d5106b\wpdmtp.inf"
Locate this file via device manager and choose "MTP USB Device"
And viola! You can now transfer files again in your Nexus 5x!

Nope, was never able to find a fix. If you do please let me know.
Yes I got it working. Since longer USB cables only shows unknown device I installed android development system and it made no difference.. But I had a 6inch charging cable that came with my power brick and I tried that and viola the Nexus showed up.. Not as a nexus 5x like before but as something like romaster composite ADB interface or something and I was able to flash TWRP recovery so now I can at least get access to it. Backed up the memory to a flash drive.. Have not flashed SU or anything yet but that should not be a problem with TWRP installed.. And like usual it takes a few flashes and rebooting into TWRP for it to stick other wise the recovery goes away.. Still dont know why the longer USB cables make any difference.. I even tried it out on a USB extension socket which is a 20 foot long USB extender and that also works.. So it must be something else like when I had the MB changed the adapter I was using did not work for data transfer.. Might be using some wire that is missing in the longer cable..

Change the option to File Transfer from the popup/notification on your phone when you connect it to the PC. It works for me.
EDIT: If it still doesn't change, check the adb drivers.

i am not getting any popup.
Check the sliding switch on the right hand edge of the op3 is "down" to allow ALL notifications. There are plenty of "install OP3 drivers" videos on Youtube. Windows drivers are also on the phone.
This should still work - the drivers are also supplied on the phone. Doing nothing other than connecting a op3 to a windows pc should cause a cd drive to appear in Windows Device Manager and in File Explorer (look under "This PC") for "CD Drive (drive letter: OnePlus Drivers" . Double Click the icon and run "OnePlus_USB_Drivers_Setup.exe". If you are running a recent version (and clean installed in the last few months) of W10 Pro then you may hit driver signing issues

Pixel 2 XL updated to.Android 11 recently here in UK.
Now I cannot connect to DJI Mavic Pro or my PC
No USB pop up on status bar saying USB Connected
Yes Dev options enabled and using proper cables (have 2)
My Question is it possible to Downgrade fully to
Android 9 or 10
If so what do i need, links?
Thanks
In the networking section of Dev options is "Default USB Configuration." When I set that to "File Transfer/Android Auto" I was able to connect to my PC. I sometimes have to disable then re-enable ADB to get it to connect. I haven't got a Mavic to test, but hopefully that will help some, at least with the computer.
Yeah tried that with no success
Was working fine with 9 and 10 version
Tried hard reset and safe mode still same
What you mean disable/enable ADB
So looking for how to downgrade if possible

I'm pretty sure the only way to downgrade is to wipe your device though, so make sure you have a backup first. You can downgrade by flashing the Google Factory Images.
There's also an online flashing tool from Google here: https://flash.android.com/
When my device is cranky, sometimes I can revoke USB debugging authorisations, then turn USB debugging (ADB) off and back on. This seems to reset the PC connection and let's it communicate properly, even if I'm only looking to transfer files.
Otherwise, you'll want to flash the factory image as MrBrady suggested.

Cannot connect Note10+ to PC

When I connect my Note10+ to my Windows 7 pc, I don't get ANY acknowledgement a device is connected. No beep, popup.. nothing. I did install the Samsung USB drivers, but that's not the issue because there is absolutely no unrecognized devices in the device manager. NO reaction from the PC. Are there any windows services that need to be enabled? Because I do have minimal services enabled.
I can connect a thumb drive thru the same 6ft cable which is kind of old. But not the phone. Could the cable still be bad or not new enough, or short enough? Tried the rear ports also. I don't have any other cables at the moment.
USB debugging is enabled and the phone is set to Transfer Files. Restarted the phone and PC.
Just no beep or popup or anything when I connect the phone. However the phone does charge. The phone is only a month old. Maybe a bad phone port? Is the Note10 USB-C port generally kind of stiff when you first connect the supplied power cable? I never tried to connect it to the PC before.
Thanks.
Try another cable/port.
See if it shows in disk management, hit rescan drives.
Try reloading the drivers manually or automatically depending which you tried first.
If you have SmartSwitch loaded on the PC you should already have the drivers.
Closely review what you disabled and their dependencies!!!
Check Event Viewer for errors.
I have a PC running on W7, my 10+ pops up effortlessly. It could be the C port PCB but don't jump to that conclusion yet. Try a flash stick in it.
Thanks. I have to borrow one. The thumb drive works with the cable, but not the phone. Strange. Connect a thumb drive to the phone??
Going thru my services now. I should get a beep or something.... then I worry about drivers if need be. I scanned for new hardware in device mgr and expanded all trees anyway... nothing. Scanned drives in Disk Mgt... nothing.
If I go to the Samsung desk at BestBuy, will they help free of charge?
Connected thumb drive to phone THRU THE SAME CABLE... Notification says USB Storage Connected, and I can browse through those files.
How do you unmount the thumb drive.. just disconnect the device? EDIT: I got it... "Unmount" in Notif shade.
So the phone port should be good then? Thx.
All I want to do is some ADB commands to disable Doze and remove bloat.

I just pull it, the SD card I unmount first.
I don't think it's a port issue.
Try disabling ie turn off Developer options.
The issue seems to be on the PC side.
Services can have a lot of dependencies with far reaching consequences if disabled.
If in doubt renable, reboot, try again.
Something should be logged in Event Viewer when you try to connect.
Could be a driver issue.
On the 10+ you should get a popup asking if you wish to connect if not the 10+ isn't seeing the PC.
Try another PC if possible.

Hard a reboot (not factory reset!) on the 10+
A settings issue on the PC? Event Viewer, security.

I should have described the silent notif better. When I connect the cable to the phone (even if not yet connected to PC) the silent notif says:

2) USB Tethering
3) MIDI
4) Transferring Images
5) Charging Phone only

It's grayed out because of the Developer options think.
I'm using the "transfer files" option. I don't get those options, it just asks if I want to connect.
My 10+ is a stock AT&T variant running on Pie.
I haven't used ADB so not sure. If Event Viewer is showing it as missing... you probably need the library. Side by side errors used to be common on x64 machines, missing MS library.
Canon did that. The Developers already had it on their PCs and forgot to include it in the install bundle

Can't use ADB because I need to install one thing after another and I don't have the patience to sit here for hours.
Platform tools requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 redist because I'm getting "api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing error" when I type adb devices
Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redist requires KB2999226 and that won't install either.
I'm going to see if I can brorrow a laptop with win 10.

W10 is a dud. W7 should work fine; it shouldn't need any of that to transfer files.
Android 11 may be the perp... I don't know, sorry.
SUCCESS! I used the 15 Seconds ADB Installer as describe here: https://www.droidthunder.com/adb-installer/ Worked like a charm.
The manual ADB platform tools did not work (api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing error) probably because I didn't keepup with my win 7 pro system updates. Always hated MS updates because when you reboot, there's other issues you didn't have before or there was more unessessary BS running in the background..
I know windows 10 is a dud. That's why I'm STILL on 7. It's poorly designed and not a true desktop OS. Thanks for all of your help. Wasted a whole day on this.
