lg g7 is loaded only in fastboot! - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

I have lg g7 I do not go further fastboot. The download mode does not load so it will not work through the LGUP flash! If I try to flash one * .img file through the terminal, I get the message FAILED remote: 'Flashing is not allowed in Lock State'.
Before that, there was a native firmware with an unlocked bootloader then decided to lock the bootloader and roll the Korean firmware through the LGUP gave an error of 92% and the phone has not been turned on since
I also can not unlock the bootloader here such messages (bootloader) Device-ID

p.s. I can not even put twrp

Why in the world would you decide to lock the boot-loader in the first place.. That right there might be some of your issues.. Not sure about the rest. I have heard that sometimes re-locking the boot-loader is a bad idea.

I have already seen this. What should I do now?

Only hope now, play stupid, and bring it to a service center or send to lg, and hope they will replace it.. Sorry I can't be of any further help.

U need send LG or spend money to save pm a had octopus box.

HELP PLS! Bootloader OS version not the same as software number

Hi All,
I'm not sure how I managed to do this but I think I bricked my phone
My bootloader was unlocked and the phone was rooted. I wanted to bring the phone back to stock in order to be able to install an OTA update.
I flashed the stock ROM and was able to install the OTA update.
After this I ran into a problem where the phone would boot and upgrade apps then right before finishing the boot it would reboot and start the process all over again. Looping everytime that the upgrade apps would finish.
Log story short I ended up restarting the process of going back to stock to try everything from scratch again. Things were not working so I foolishly relocked the bootloader thinking it wouldn't be an issue to unlock again with the unlock_code.bin file that I had used previously.
Now the phone will boot into the bootloader and into download mode but not into recovery.
Ive tried flashing the stock recovery and the TWRP recovery and even the recovery from the OTA update but none will flash as the bootloader is locked.
I tried to unlock the bootloader again but cannot and here is the reason why.
The bootloader thinks my OS is 5.1 but really the OS on the phone is 5.0.2

Fastboot oem unlock does not work as the bootloader is looking for a flag that is set by selecting the developer option of unlock bootloader but that developer option only exists in android 5.1+
Being as the OS on my phone is 5.0.2 I don't have that option in my developer options.
When I boot into RUU with "fastboot oem rebootRUU" and I try to flash my stock rom I now get this.

I found a tool called misctool which can change the main version to whatever I choose - If I could change the main version back to 1.32.666.30 I'm assuming this would allow me to flash the stock ROM again and get me back up and running.
The problem is that misctool requires root and I cannot get root without unlocking the bootloader which I cannot unlock because the OS on my phone does not have the option to do so
I read about using nautilus within ubuntu to be able to push files into root areas of my phone and have tried to go this route but I cant get my phone to appear in ubuntu while its in download mode.
Sigh if only I could find a way to get root to be able to change the version-main I think my troubles would be a thing of the past
Can anyone shed any light on my dismal situation?

did you flash something like splash screen or remove red text, anything with the android-info.txt
im stuck with the same problem ... wish i could get back stock and stable
Same here, either of you figure something out?
Find someone with a java card/clip and get it s-off. Then you can flash what ever ruu version you want. There is a link in my signature to a thread with people with clips.

HTC One M8 stuck in bootloader

I've got this phone for a while now but since i updated it to official marsmallow it's been stuck into bootloader. The phone is stock, still locked and S-ON. I've tried to unlock it so i can use a custom rom but when i do the official bootloader unlock from htc it goes all okay until it should promp me on the phone screen to confirm bootloader unlock, i can't find a way to make it work. I also tried to use the RUU but when it's rebooting my phone into bootloader (witch it is already) it doesn't reboot the phone goes stand by and the program stops. I the tried to get the zip RUU into an SD but the CID doesn't match since i got the Vodafone UK one so my cid is VODAP001 and i can't find the right RUU for this version. Can someome please help, i'm desperate.
I've tried to use the RUU.zip file from cmd using comand fastboot oem rebootRUU bur it gives me this message:

Yeah I had to send it to support since it had a hardware problem with the memory ( I've pinpointed the problem to the ROM) if you your warranty is expired maybe you should try replacing the motherboard

You have the same sector/emmc errors? Of you just have the problem of stuck in bootloader? Those are two very different things. With the second one being quite possibly fixable.
You need to be specific if you want any meaningful help. Saying you have the "same issue" is never sufficient for folks to give help; and is just going to end up confusing you and others.
Assuming it is not a hardware emmc failure, and you want some direction, please provide the following:
- If you know how, do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).
- If you don't know how to do fastboot, what OS number and radio number does it say on the phone's bootloader screen?
- Bootloader locked or unlocked?
- Any other mods (TWRP, custom ROM, etc.).
- What events led to the current condition? Did you try to flash something, or update OS? Or just happened spontaneously?
- Exact names/version numbers of files you installed, or tried to flash.
The more detail you can give, the better.

Hello everyone,
My phone boots straight into bootloader and I only have access to bootloader and download mode (no recovery). My phone is S-ON and Re-locked. Unlocking again doesnt seem to work and I get this error message when I try:

Factory Reset Protection is stopping the unlock. You should have removed your google account before messing with it.
Now you're locked out of your OS which is preventing you from flipping the bootloader unlock switch.
I honestly don't know how to get around that. I'm not sure an ruu flash will help either..
S-off, you need to run an app called "sunshine" and pay $25 or buy an xclip or the likes.

It's true that this is a security feature but the google account has nothing to do with it. It's the option "OEM Unlock" in the developer options that seems to be inactive in this case. And yes, a RUU could fix this issue.
@PlumpPanda: That usually happens if the phone gets relocked although it's not completely stock. Security checks notice that the software isn't original (e.g. if TWRP is installed) and prevent the phone from booting so that it doesn't get "damaged" by the "faulty" software. (The software actually isn't faulty in reality but the security checks only distinguish between original software and not-original=faulty software if the bootloader is locked or relocked.) There seems to be no publicly available RUU for your firmware so all you can do is contacting Llabtoofer's RUU service and ask whether he can help you out. (Chances are high that he can.) Sunshine is no alternative since you have no booting system and java cards or xtc clips are way more expensive than the RUU service (unless you have friend that already owns one ).
Note the red highlight.. Frp = factory reset protection. If you have seen this error before then ignore me, I'm talking rubbish but as far as I can tell it wouldn't have frp if it was just the unlock killswitch stopping it. Would it?.
It does say that "enable unlock" then rejects it, probably due to the frp?.
Something tells me that this rabbit hole may go deeper if you keep digging but one thing is for sure.. Bye bye data.

Yeah, I noticed the part that you highlighted in red. And it is a factory reset protection since it prevents the factory reset that gets triggered by a bootloader unlock. However, it has nothing to do with google accounts and it doesn't prevent you from flashing RUUs. But you're right, since a RUU completely wipes the phone the currently saved data (e.g. contacts, pictures, messages, etc.) is lost.
That error is not new. It exists since the M9 received firmware 2.x. You can't unlock the bootloader unless OEM Unlock is activated in the developer options. The oldest threads which deal with this problem got started around august 2015.
Edit: Wait a minute. I missed that part:
(bootloader) [KillSwitch] Last Byte is 0X01, enable unlock

If OEM Unlock was disabled the output would be the following:

Phone is now fixed!! I used the Llabtoofer's RUU service and it worked perfectly. Highly recommended as it took roughly half an hour and now it works perfectly!!!! Thanks for you rhlpe guys!

Loading Stock RUU Failed and now stuck on install screen

Hi,
I had tried rooting my At&T HTC One M9 using the NOOB friendly guide written by KingInTheNorth. After completing, my phone wouldn't boot up. It got into a bootloop. I then found a guide (from another website) on how to reload the stock RUU. I followed the direction but it looks as if the file was bad. The following is copied from the command prompt.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot flash zip C:/Use

Now my phone is stuck on the screen that shows a phone with a green arrow in a green circle pointing down. I've tried rebooting but it doesn't respond to any button presses. Did I ruin my phone? Can anyone help?
Try to type fastboot reboot in your command prompt. It should reboot your phone. If you're lucky it will reboot your phone normally and it's fully functional. If not, your phone will boot into bootloader which will mean your rom is wiped.
That's not a RUU that you were trying to flash and the guide written by KingInTheNorth is outdated since different firmware versions of the M9 can only get rooted with different versions of SuperSU. Check the ReadMe thread for the guides and files you may need.
@Suurbier91: Never recommend people to reboot if a flash failed unless they know exactly what's going on. There are some flashing errors that can only get fixed if the phone gets flashed immediately, again. A reboot makes those bricks permanent and unrecoverable.
Thanks for the direct to the Read Me. I've found a lot of good information there. After my battery died, I charged the phone and it's coming back on. It still has a boot loop that lasts for between five to ten minutes before booting up. I am going to try following one of the threads I found on here to get back to stock. Hopefully that will take care of the boot loop issue. I was wanted to root it so I could upgrade to Nougat. The phone was originally AT&T but I paid to unlock it and I'm now on Cricket but I don't receive any OTA updates.
That's probably so because the phone is only sim unlocked but still using the AT&T firmware. Don't ask me why they're allowed to do so (it wouldn't be possible in the EU) but AT&T won't let you download OTAs if there isn't an AT&T sim card inserted into your phone.
If you don't need the AT&T branded firmware then I'd get S-OFF and convert my phone to the dev edition if I were you. If you choose to stay on the AT&T firmware then you can update your phone via a RUU. Be aware that it's not possible to update from firmware 3.x or lower to firmware 4.x via RUUs due to new encryption keys.

(SOLVED)Need somebody really expert on unlock bootloader on this phone, please halp

So i brough this weird phone, and i guess i will need somebody really expert on this unlock bootloader thing this time.
0 - Locked bootloader, but in motorola software says it have root
1 - I can boot to system normaly, use sim, imeis are all ok (but there is no gapps and no way to flash it)
2 - LineageOS Pie rom
3 - i can acess fastboot (that says is locked)
4- i cannot acess recovery (when select this option, returns to fastboot)
5 - there is no "oem unlock" option in "developer options"
6 - my phone is elegible to unlock, so i already got the motorola code through the site (to use with "fastboot oem unlock CODE", but when i do the command line, says that i need to turn on the oem unlock option that doesnt exist in "developer options"
7 - If i try to boot any twrp img in fastboot mode (to flash twrp zip), the phone reboot to fastboot again (as i said, i have no acess to recovery)
8- If i update the magisk (comes with lineageOS), the system wont boot anymore, and says its corrupt, shows a recovery red window but only with "factory format" option (and if i do, the phone just format as it was in the beginning)
9 - if i try to flash anything in fastboot, i will fail coz of couse, its locked.
10- i have the box, original items, papers and documents (but its out of warranty).
11 - tried Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant, but when i put my model and awaits to fastboot, says that cannot do nothing.
I just want to use stock oreo, nothing more, is too much to ask? :crying: :crying: :crying:
Please dont ask me what the previous owner did to this phone, i dont know(he neighter, said only that after trying to install custom rom, bricked the phone, but somehow could install this lineageOS :crying: :crying:
Any help to this poor soul? Thanks already :crying: :crying:
What is the model, what does it say by the charger port? XT1789-??
In fastboot issue 'fastboot getvar all' w/o quotes and post that info here -minus your imei# that will give an idea of what firmware you need to flash to get back to stock and unlock.

From what I see what I've been able to confirm, it looks like your phone was updated to pie at some point. So going back to oreo isn't an option since the modem won't jive. Everything seems to be retail Brazil firmware, so you need the retbr 9.0 firmware. The only thing concerning is the previous owner and whatever they did, especially since it resulted in a brick and they jimmied up this concoction. Just to verify, when you boot to os you do have a signal and all that correct? If that is correct then retbr modem works for you and you should be able to flash stock pie and everything should work. Then you'll be able to unlock and all that.
So if your signal is there then jump to this forum and follow the directions to flash retbr pie. Feel free to ask questions about flashing there. They seem to have retbr sorted and working there.

not worked :crying:
did all he said : Unzip the 2 files (flashall ... and firm ...) and place them in a folder
Click on "Preparation.bat", you must generate a "flash.bat file", double click with the phone in download mode
It's all, really clean installation

well, I recommend that you download the Lenovo moto application, something like that is the name, after installing it, connect the terminal in Lenovo moto app in fastboot mode, click on the Flash option and then where it says to recover, complete the information that asks you wait for it to finish, an official ROM flashed, and from there you can start with the bootloader unlock
Have you signed into a google account on the phone? Do you see developer options in settings? I know you said you didn't see oem unlocking so that's why I ask. We'll try to tackle those and get you unlocked. It's possible that you pbl and trust zone is messed up so a blankflash might be needed to sort that.
With a locked bootloader you should able to flash the same firmware version or newer, but if your chain of trust is compromised it's a little difficult, but not impossible.

i cant sign into google accouts because there is no gapps pre installed on LineageOS, and i cant flash anything because the bootloader locked. There is developer options but only the adb debbug option, there is no "oem unlock" option (thats why when i try to fastboot oem unlock "CODE", the prompt says that i need to first activate the "oem unlock" option into the system, but as i said, there is no OEM option inside developer options. Maybe could be this "chain of thrust" thing. What should i do? thanks

Can you not sign into google from accounts in settings? Also, you can download the playstore apk and install it manually. Usually to enable oem unlocking you have to be signed into google. So check accounts and see if you can sign in there, and/or d/l the apk and sign in there. Reboot and check dev options again for oem unlocking once you've signed in.

i need unlock bootloader just to revert to stock. I dont want to keep unlocked, or install custom stuff. If i just had the "oem unlock" option in developer options, i could fix that. And about moto smart assistant, when i put my phone and do this steps, after choosing my phone number and model, after the program detect my phone in fastboot mode, it shows a message, "this device is not supported".

installed both, play store and services apk's from different sites. Tried clean cache, and anything else, but there is always a message forcing to close app. Cant open them.

maybe isnt this messing this phone ?
Well the bottom line is you got a mismatched system, no recovery, a locked bootloader, no gapps; what a mess.
First I would hit fastboot and issue 'fastboot -w' w/o quotes. That will format data and get rid of potentially any bits of garbage. Once that is done reboot to system and you should have to do setup again. Part of setup is signing into google, so once that is done check dev settings again to see if oem unlocking has become available. It's odd that it's just not there. Most times it's there and possibly just greyed out.
If that doesn't yield any changes then a blankflash is the only option you have left to sort it, that's the dicey part that will either make it or break it. We'll worry about that if and when we get there. Just be warned this part will be the most dangerous so it's your decision to proceed from here. Whoever gave you that phone didn't do you any favors.

If you've already tried 'fastboot -w' and nothing has changed for you then you can try to blankflash and reflash the pie firmware you downloaded previously. Read the whole post before you try and just know that there is a real chance of failure. Plenty have recovered their phone, even with locked bootloaders, but it's not 100% success. I think the biggest problem you might face is finding the proper firmware to flash, but I would start with the pie firmware you already have since it seems that pie is already on your phone (sort of).
Here is the blankflash post. Follow the directions closely, read it all, and be warned what you do is your choice.
