What Pie OS are you using and why? I'm looking for something stable and with decent-good battery, like 5-6h screen-on time. There are lot of roms but I want to hear from users. Thanks for any suggestion!

I'm using Mokee ROM. The performance and accu is very smooth and good, stable and without any issues and lags. But SElinux isn't active.
Actually im using CaF Pixel Experience and i can said this is the best rom. SoT 5h very smooth, 0 freezes or random resets. Mokee have 2 minuses, no SeLinux and battery suck so much i get maximally 3h SoT.

i optimized my settings in battery, trust and deactivated any reciver some apps, i use a dark- or blackmode in ui, apps, board etc. many other configs... i use my mi6 since 2 years so i foundet more and more things to do for better and longer battery- and sot... it's hard to say all things... but what can i say is that other PieROM have probs with active SElinux and no good battery and sot... so Mokee is actually for me the best for me... linage 16 is to unperfect and other have to many not good configs and settings

I have an LG G3 16GB and have been disappointed with the battery life for some time now, with the Android system typically being the culprit according to battery doctor with it using 64% on average. Oddly when I go into android settings and view battery use it's telling me the usage is...
Android OS 17%
Screen 17%
Cell standby 12%
Android System 8%
So battery doctor is telling me one thing and the native battery use app is telling me another.
I do find the phone get's quite hot around the camera area which is annoying as I am a light user. When I view the battery doctor app it's telling me the amazon apps (kindle & shop) are trying to restart 40 or 50 times over a period of an hour.
Anyhow would I be better off downgrading to Kitkat or maybe trying another ROM such as CM12. Any other suggestions welcome?
What's your SoT?
I'm assuming that you're on LG Stock Lollipop ROM. If that is true, go ahead and check Gabriel's Kernel and apply Bullet's or any other settings that suits you. My phone used to suck battery real fast, but I factory reset my phone and flashed Gabriel's Kernel and applied Bullet's settings. It helped, to say at least. I got 3.45 SoT unlike before (2.40 SoT). So yeah. Also, don't forget to use greenify. Currently I'm on AOSP and the battery isn't that far than stock with Gabriel's Kernel. Note that sometimes the kernel lags.
Hit the thanks button if I helped you.
use wakelock detector itll tell u whats keeping your phone awake

Yesterday I bought a zenfone2 z00a and flashed it with cm13 but the battery life is extremely poor. The phone went from 100% to 0 in two hours(on the 3g network, no bluetooth active and such). Then i flashed resurrection remix, the battery life improved but it's still poor compared to my last phone(Gionee elife s plus).
Anyone else has this kind of problem?

For a phone to loose 3000 mAh in 2 hours it will be very hot. If it is hot, something is likely keeping the processor running, or the network is keeping the phone busy.
First thing to do is a clean flash, and not reinstall a backup.
A Zenfone 2 typically has a screen-on-time of about 4 hours. That means you can use it actively for half a day. Keeping it in your pocket should keep it usable for a day or 2.
If the fone is not notably warm, you may have a faulty battery.
Normally, the fone will switch off with warnings before reaching 0%. If it switches off early, like at 20%, you need to replace the battery. (that may be warranty, but you then need to revert back to stock first)

O, I forgot to mention that battery statistics only work right after a few complete cycles, and are reset every clean flash of a different rom.
Flashing a rom on the zenfone2 uses up to 25% of battery, mainly optimising the apps (compiling the ART-cache) running all kernels on full speed.

Hi guys , just wanted to know whether using substratum (overlays or any mod) will affect/drain battery life / performance ?
Last phone i rooted and tinkered around with was a galaxy s2 & galaxy s4 (many years ago ) , stayed stocked with my galaxy s5 and LG G5 and finally changing over to the Oneplus5T so i'm quite new to this Substratum thingy .
Thanks !
Hi no problem with battery life with substratum i'm using flux substratum theme on Android Oreo beta 3 and i can easily reach 7hrs of sot with intensive usage like 3d games with lte bluetooth on during all the day
---------- Post added at 07:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:31 PM ----------
So no panic you can use serenely substratum
No real affect on battery life.

The 24/03 build of bootleggers rom is the best in terms of performance and battery ratio..it has an underclocked kernel... I am expecting 7-8 hours SOT with heavy usage with no stutters or compromise in performance... On AEX 5.3 and Jaguar oreo i didn't got anything above 4.5 to 5 hrs of SOT

Best ROM hands down
Has anyone also experienced increased heating in the latest Oreo roms? As if thermal throttling didn't kick in or perhaps at higher temps?
If you want to switch to to a good custom ROM.... Go for Bootlegger or AEX.... Both of them are beast... I prefer bootlegger since...it has better personalization and better heat management....Do not go for jaguar..... It is nowhere near to these ROMs...

Yes ... Ever since I updated to Oreo... Although the performance was the same... But the device is heating a lot.... Especially on Linux kernels.... I would recommend to to use AR Beast...or Raging Beast or the Big ****in' Rocket(on Bootlegger ROM)... These custom kernels reduce the heat sufficiently... Although not as good as Nougat ROMs....

AospExtended v6.3 Unofficial.
I'm not longer sure where the link to it is buried, but it's out there somewhere.
It's basically a Pixel rom with GravityBox-like-options spread through all the settings.
Also the only rom which allows me to exclusively turn off the 180 degree rotation.
Bluetooth works, no other hiccups either.
But by far the best thing about it, is that the battery optimization is the best experience I've had on a phone for years:
Light usage: 9hrs SoT, 3days 6hrs StandBy
Moderate usage: 12hrs SoT, 2days 3hrs StandBy
I don't game but I'd think I'd squeeze 8-10hrs of heavy usage if needed.
The only downside is I think the Rom is no longer maintained, but hey, I can live without constant updates.
Wow! really good! But a link to rom download would be appreciated!
