Thinking about moving to a custom rom from stock pie and I'm curious what roms and kernel people recommend. Needing it for daily use so I need it to be good on battery thanks

So I have got a question that maybe many others have yet to voice or address (maybe it's just me, and I am delusional). In any event, I am not new to rooting and flashing ROMS. I am also familiar--at least conceptually--with what the kernel is and what it does. For the purposes of this post however, I should mention that I have not ever flashed a custom kernel and am unsure as to why one would or why there is more than one floating around. I have been vacillating back on forth between stock and custom kernels....it seems like in order to flash this ROM you need this Kernel, or that ROM flash that Kernel. I want to learn and to know. I would really appreciate feedback on this.

Kernel's are installed or "flashed" in the same manner as a custom ROM, either through CWM or Odin. Kernel's just add an extra level of customization, most people use custom Kernel's for overclocking although they also have many other uses.
Kernals can also highly affect battery life and the speed of roms. The kernal has to match the kind of rom. Samsung kernals go with samsung/touchwiz based roms. Aosp kernals go with aosp based roms like cyanogenmod and aokp. There are a few jellybean kernals and those will work for the current jellybean aosp based roms. Samsung will eventually release their own jellybean update and when that happens expect to see jellybean samsung kernals made for roms based on samsung jellybean.
Which AOSP rom is stable also is pure stock, what i mean is it doesnt have bloated features that i wont use!
Also what kernel would your recommend on a aosp rom for battery life?

None the AOSP rom's have bloats, they are all based on pure google experience ,only thing they bring forward is the the various tweaks. No one can tell you which rom is most stable cause everyone uses their phone differently,so best to try few aosp roms available and see what works best for you, same goes for kernel ,try devil or agni and see which works for your phone
is there any new update or news for stock kernel and stock rom
we need a kernel for stock rom like @zwliew kernel for cm11
Unfortunately no. I dream about it. We need developer, who make it
+1. With OC CPU/GPU kernel, the stock ROM will run smoother. I remember how the last year we all pray for that. We signing petitions for chance to OC. Now we have it for custom ROM and it's cool! So if it's possible will be very nice, because I think there are many Ace 2 users that like to use not only custom, but also the stock ROM.
Hi Guys!
I have a question. I'm totally not into custom roms and stuff. My question is - which is the best custom ROM for daily use for GT-I9195 for now? The only things I need: the ROM needs to be stable, very easy to use, just like a normal Android, it should be based on some newer versions of Android (now I have 4.4.2 and some of the apps don't work anymore). I'm really not into phones so I want to avoid lots of additional troubles after installing any kind of ROM. I want to install it and use it without worries from the first day. What would you recommend?
Thank you very much!
Hello friends. I am on MIUI 10.2 . I just want to ask if it is better to change to a custom rom? or there are no much differences between stock rom and custom roms?
If you prefer switching to custom roms, just give your reasons, and if you prefer stock rom, mention why stock rom is better
I would also like to know the answer. Currently I'm on Masik 1.5, but its becoming a little bit sluggish. I want to know if custom roms have full screen gestures like in MIUI and if the camera quality is compared to stock.
Are you from the future? There is no MIUI 10.2 ?
So far the best ROM is stock one. Custom have lots of problems and bugs. You wont find any perfect custom rom. There wil bel always some problems.
I've tried Pie ROMs, for now MIUI is enough, pretty stable and with a lot of features, our device is supported from Xiaomi, maybe a custom ROM will be a good idea after 1/2 years (in my opinion)
