Upgrade from redmi pro

Evening all,
So I picked up a redmi pro x25 which I've enjoyed using but have been disappointed by the screen (image doesn't seem as sharp and the colours don't look as good as my LG G4, I know the pro is a different screen type so guess that could be why) , poor WiFi speeds & no 5ghz. Having now got the chance to maybe sell it I wonder if it's worth giving the 5s plus a go or going back to my LG G4? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
So far I'm happy with my 5s, I only lack official Global ROM, but I'm hopeful that it soon will be released.
Mi5s and Mi5s Plus maybe has an touchscreen issues

Ah this, it just means that you need to swipe at a fairly precise 90° angle. The screen itself works absolutely fine.

Xiaomi MI series vs. Xiaomi REDMI series = which line is better?

Xiaomi MI series vs. Xiaomi REDMI series = which line is better?
Everybody knows that Mi series goal is to be better than Redmi at least in specs and performance.
But how about performance to price ratio, how about all other things that You dont worry and dont expect in REDMI casue it's cheap but You do expect it in the MI series?
What are the problems/things that You don't like in MI series?
What are the problems/things that You don't like in REDMI series if there is any? WHY? Cause we all know not to expect wonders for a low budget priced phones.
I've talked to many people who had/have REDMI and MI series Xiaomi phones (clients, selllers, internet folks, friends) and they only agree on ONE thing -the price is great wheter it is REMI or MI phone.
A strange thing happens.... REDMI owners are always satisfied. The only thing that bothers not all of them is the camera quality.
But in low and middle price segment REDMI beats EVERY other BRAND.
Xiaomi has also great prices in the high end flagship models but here MANY PEOPLE are dissapointed.
For example camera quality, screen quiality, body, bezel, bugs, no NFC, no european B20 LTE band.
The MI users also tell me that non of the above bothers them but something totaly different. EACH person = an original problem with MI device.
Can You please tell me what are Your problems/dislikes with MI and REDMI devices cause I'm about to buy one from each segment?
What should I worry about (Android updates maybe?) buying a REDMI and a MI phone IN YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIANCE?
People who complain about camera quality on the MI Mix 2 are comparing it to flagships that cost significantly more--and that was before the price drop on the MI Mix 2. At this point flagship phones from Samsung, Apple and Huawei cost more than twice what a MI Mix 2 costs. If you are willing to spend $800-$1000 on a smart phone then you will certainly get a better camera. I don't expect a fantastic camera at this price point.

I'm sure the releasing Mi Mix 2S had something to do with that price. And BTW It should have equal cam quality like S9+ (DXoMark)

That psychological problem affects 90% phone users,
Redmi product line is ODM. The flagship models of MI/MIX are OEM.

If Mi/Mix are truly OEM, then who is the Client that provided Xiaomi the product design and specifications?
Hmm

In other word. MI/Mix are designed by xiaomi itself. Redmi is provided by a company called longcheer, even though xiaomi is holding much of it's share.

So in the long run (to receive updates for example as long as possible) it is better to buy a Mi rather than Redmi phone?

Are there any chances that redmi note 8 pro will get custom rom support

i am thinking to buy either redmi note 8 pro or poco f1 for a friend of mine. The poco f1 has a great support from custom rom developers but on the redmi side there has been some problems. Even miui.eu stopped supporting redmi note 8 pro and there has been some problems with twrp. So which is a better buy, redmi note 8 pro or poco f1.
I was thinking to ask the same. Since xiaomi.eu dropped support this week I am pretty sure this is dead device from that point of view. I am giving back my RN8 Pro to vendor and go with MI9 SE instead. Better display, better camera, smaller, lighter and for the same price..
Maybe GSI:s will work well for it. Seem to be some people that got them running.
i think no...if bricked its so hard to flash..need authorized account...this why no development
I was interested on this device but ended up ordering a regular Snapdragon Note 8. Mediatek just can't get it yet. Maybe in the future.
But yeah, for now avoid Mediatek devices if you want to mod then. It's a sad reality, and it has been true for many years. Hope it changes someday.

Is it still worth it to buy the Redmi Note 8?

I currently have the budget to buy a phone in the prices of the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 9, I am really into custom roms and I'm currently leaning into buying the Redmi Note 8 just because of it. Will the Redmi Note 8 still be supported by the developers here in the long run or are a lot of them transitioning in buying the new Redmi Note?
In my experience the redmi line have developer support during several years. My last phone was a redmi 5 plus (vince) and even today there are quality custom roms available (but there are not many options anymore). I bought a RN 8 recently and I think it is still a good device, especially considering that RN9 has a mediatek processor and the development for that device is going to be harder. Sorry for my bad English btw.

appreciate it, my brother just bought a Redmi Note 9, I'm not really feeling the size of the phone, plus I don't think there's going to be much development because of the processor? I guess I'll just go with this, the roms with the RN8 seems pretty great.
Take into consideration that Xiaomi is really delaying updates for this phone, even Redmi note 7 got updates sooner.

is redmi note 9 worth buying in 2022/3/x?

Hello, is redmi note 9 good to buy in 2022 I am currently thinking of buying 3 devices redmi 9 redmi note 8 redmi note 9 And the best performance among them, according to the extensive search between them, is the redmi note 9, but when I search for a long time, I see that members face many problems such as slow and when I enable Lte, it returns to e and when I buy the phone I immediately think of updating it to android 12 and also you cannot change your phone system without Happening problem I also tried to make a comparison between the phone and the newer versions but I don't like amoled screens because the newer versions of xiaomi are all amoled I hate AMOLED screens because when something simple is broken, such as accidentally dropping the screen from the hand, it gets a complete break of the screen and the requirements for changing the screen are very expensive and I always drop my phone Huawei y6 prime 2018 with an IPS screen and I think IPS screens are the best for me For me, other than this, to enter the redmi note 11 into the qualifiers and it was the winner
Ya Sure, IT works pretty Well With lineageos 19+a12
Definitely no. The MediaTek in this phone is straight garbage and you will feel so embarrassed in front of everyone when you will get a random crash or freeze.

Well, if you like suffering with this crap, then okay....
Also, this phone is already sold out and reached its EOL support. I can tell you that when I dropped this phone twice and I already have a black bar going through the LCD panel itself. AMOLED is much better if you have a nice and thick glass.

No, I don't like crap things, because I don't like you.
But, I love MediaTek alot
Obviously, the answer to the thread is: no.
Just buy any most recent Redmi Note x/y/z.
There is nothing to discuss here.
