J& (J600FN) Default Storage Location - Samsung Galaxy J6+ Questions & Answers

Dear all,
I was using Huawei P9 Lite previously, which had a Default Storage Location option. I had set that to SD card, and hence all WhatsApp media etc., was automatically saved to SD card.
Now my Huawei P9 Lite is destroyed due to a severe accident, so I have to use my other phone Galaxy J6 (J600FN).
At the moment, I am restoring WhatsApp from googledrive, but there seems no option similar to what we had in Huawei P9 Lite for Default Location.
Is there any other possibility to set WhatsApp media in Samsung Galaxy J6 (J600FN) to SD card?
Thanks and best regards,

DirectoryBind - Solution for External SD Card Storage?

Let me start by saying this isn't my program and I had nothing to do with the development of the program. All credit goes to the developer. As always, no one (including the developer) takes any responsibility for issues resulting from the use of any program/mod/hack etc.
So I was a MOG user and was exceptionally disappointed to find out (when I got my SIII) that MOG doesn't support the storage of offline music on the external SD card on any Samsung device. Like with many other programs like this, the reason is due to how Samsung (and perhaps other) phones recognize the internal storage as "sdcard".
So I was searching around for a solution and stumbled across the following program on the help forums for Rdio... it's a directory binding program developed by another XDA member - the original intent presumably for gamers:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262
I have not tried this with MOG specifically yet (after playing with Rdio I decided I liked it's program better anyway) but can confirm that the program works!! I was able to bind a dir on the external SD card to the same dir on the internal phone storage!!! The Rdio program is working quite well. All files have been moved to external storage (by the program) and things are working great!
I've only just started using this program so I can't say if there's any negative side effects. I'll report back if I experience any issues.

[A] Sony MW1 Smart Headset Pro "NO SONGS AVAILABLE" problem solution

AnubisNefer said:
Okay, so i formatted the 2 gb microsd card (fat32) and copied 1 album straight to the root.
After putting the headset on, i checked and it made an index map, but now when i want to play the album it says, NO SONGS AVAILABLE?
I have updated to the latest software, am i doing something wrong?
Click to collapse
- Turn off the device
- Music files to the copy and paste SD card
- SD card into the device
- Connect the charger cable
- Turn on the device
- Wait max. 10 minutes
- Turn off the device, unplug charge cable and turn on again
Now you will recognize the music files on the SD card.
Bit of a thread dig, but I came across this while I was looking for something else.
I think it'll be better if you just delete the files in the _index folder, so it recreates the database.
both solutions doesn't work
guys my device still can't read my music files after all of this, what else can i do?
hi
For anyone reading this in 2021.
The following worked for me:
1. Import mp3 to Audacity (free)
2. Export as mp3 (default settings)
3. Drop it on your sdcard.
I tested this with an hour long mix from YouTube and after this it instantly worked. It's a bit of a hassle but at least it works.

[Q] Problems playing back video from SD Card

Have been trying with varying success to use my Galaxy Note II (Demo unit) as a media player. I bought it as I was sick of converting files from mkv that I use with my media players at home (Boxee) to .mp4 so that my iPad can play them back; so wanted a media player that could playback the same range of codecs as a PC / Boxee.
First tried a Nexus 7, worked fine with MX Player was a bit too bulky, but had no problems transferring files to the internal memory and then playing them back so I decided to try another Android device, with the Galaxy Note II seeming perfect at 5.5" with a great screen.
Have inserted an SD card and tried copying files from my PC to the SD Card while it is in the device; some work and some don't giving me an error that the file can't be played back (they are all the same codec). With a few attempts at copying I can get the files over and to work. I just put two files onto the internal memory (that I had previously tried to put on the external SD card and had issues with) and they appear to work!
So it can't be an issue with MX Player not playing those files, has to be something to do with how the files are getting transferred on to the SD Card (or the SD Card itself!).
Have also tried taking the SD card out and putting it into a card reader and copying files over - but similar issues, in fact half the time the files play back fine from the SD card while it is still in the card reader, but after I eject and plug in to the PC they either don't work, or don't appear!

Need for video convertion?

Hi. I’ve recently become an owner of Galaxy Tab S 8,4 LTE. Model SM-T705 Android 5.0.2
I have e problem playing videos. Only videos which are recorded on the device are playing correctly. Regardless of file tape (MP4. flv, AVI) I’m getting message that files can’t be played. Installing MX Player doesn’t help either and VLC even don’t like to start constantly hanging out.
Actually sometimes some files (MP4) can be played using MX Player but then next time it’s not possible
On my Honor 6 I’m just drag and drop video files and they are all playing
Could you please advise what should I do in order to play videos transferred from PC?
Do I need convert files before transfer with specific program? Samsung support advice to: reset the unit back to factory state totally isolate the problem.
Do you think that that will help?
Regards, Adam
First of all remove that imei number.
Dont let windows convert them if it offers. Just copy them as is.
Make sure you install the armv7-neon codec and enable hw+ decoding.

IMEI has been removed.
@adamer04, never post your IMEI publicly.
Ups, sorry for this IMEI and thanks for removing it. To be honest I’ve copy/paste mail to Samsung support and then edit it for post
I think that problem is related to Micro SD card which I’ve got with device. It’s 128GB Micro SD HC Class 10 card made in Thailand (I can’t read the brand). Tab is second handed and I’ve got card together with tablet.
For the test I did copy few file also in AVI format to device memory and they are playing nice.
I’m offshore now so no chance to get new card to make sure that card is a problem not a connection between cards slot and device.
On the specs stays that Tab S will take cards up to 128 GB. Do you think that should buy smaller size to make it work better? Should I format existing one? If I have to buy new one which type/brand will you reconend?
Just copy to the internal storage to test.
Dont let windows convert if complains about the format.
Maybe the card is suspect, unbranded 128gb is probably fake.

Storage location in Gcam

In the Gcam settings, can you choose a usb flashdrive for storage? I am thinking about getting Xiaomi mi 10 lite 5g, it has only 64Gb, so i am wondering if i can plug in a USB Type-c flashdrive, go into the Gcam settings and choose the flashdrive to store photo's and video's automatically without it ever taking up space on the phone. So that i could record a 4k video directly on to the drive.
