I noticed that with certain wallpapers I would get a nasty shade at the bottom of the lockscreen. Completely ruins the wallpaper. Anyway to disable this?!!! Magazine wallpapers look just fine

I thought it was only me but yes, I'd like to know how to disable the ugly shade too.
-edit-
It's the theme you're using. If you use a different theme, like one from 'Themes store', the grey shade will no longer be there.
So it depends on which theme you're using.

Does anyone know of an icon set similar to the default white icons. I want to add custom apps to my nav bar and would prefer them to be all matching.

I use those, they are ICS blue not white though.
Yeah I saw those but I am wanting to add the phone app to my navbar and the default icon sticks out.
How come HTC didn't make the status bar and navigation bar transparent like everyone else are doing after Kitkat? Am I missing something? Is there an option to turn it off?

It's transparent on the home screen and lock screen, and then changes color based on the app that you're in. It's just a design choice on HTC's part. Custom roms and/or sense 6 toolbox (when it comes out) will probably let you force transparency all the time. However, transparent status bar and white icons with no shadow or outline can make for a bad day if you pick the wrong wallpaper.

Yea when I had my nexus 5 I was basically the same way it varied between apps mainly for that reason that visibility of the of the icons would be horrible.

Oh I see, I am just asking because I am using the Google Launcher and it doesn't have transparent status/navigation like the Nexus 5 does.
Two Pixel XL both on the latest DP2
Both using Nova launcher.
one phone has notification in black, one in white-what gives.
same color applies to volume rocker panel pop-up & shutdown/restart menu.
Did i miss it somewhere in the settings? or this is a glitch?
how can i change it to been black on the white unit.
here is screenshot.
It changes according to your wallpaper. Lighter wallpaper results white and darker wallpaper black notification panel.
But this is still from Oreo i think the colors and wallpapers.
In the settings, by default, there are only light colors for the navbar, which don't fit quite well dark apps like Spotify and Reddit.
Is there a way to set it black?
I already tried:
- LG themes and high contrast mode: they work, but also change the whole UI look.
- Nacho Notch, Navbar Apps and other applications on PlayStore: they don't change only the default color, but the color used everywhere (e.g.: Nacho Notch sets the navbar to be always black, even when it should be transparent, like in the launcher).
- Alpha Substratum theme: it doesn't affect default navbar color (or, at least, I wasn't able to let it do it).
Does anyone know how to do it?
Thanks.
I don't see it either. Apart from another launcher, I think your only option is going to be a dark theme.

Use nacho notch or navbar apps.
Or double tap the left hand dot to hide the Nav Bar in those apps you don't like the look??
I just use System UI Tuner. A few ADB commands for permission for the app to run and all is good. Find it in the Play Store. Instructions are supper easy to follow and you can hide either the nav bar status bar or go full immersive and hide both even on the home screen like I do.

Alpha most certainly has this option. That was one of the first things I did when I added G7 support! You do have to go and manually select black but the option is definitely there
Thanks!

I finally found out how to do it! I needed to "force" the black navigation bar selection in the settings after having built "System UI".
I also quickly followed a fellow XDA members advice on how to enable High Contrast to phone in the settings and makes the phone dark as can be. It solved my Setting Theme to all black and Navigation bar to black as well. Just had to change the wallpaper back but works well.
I am wondering how to get more colour theme options when I set a new wallpaper, usually it gives me the same 4 or it may be a mix of a few depending on my wallpapers but I cannot seem to attain a white or grey theme as shown on the pixel 6 advertisement with white widgets and white app icons on grey backgrounds. Is there a way to get more options?
Also, sometimes when I slide down my notification panel it is completely white, and sometimes it is a blurred version of my background, why isn't this consistent?
It's limited to the small number of muted colour selections with no way to add more afaict.
The blurred pull down background is a bug triggered by adjusting the brightness slider.
