Are you able to install it and verify the Security Patch month? Hopefully this is March.
Edit: Looks like it is

Nobody will "receive" a partial image OTA update via TWRP. When the full image KDZ is released, we'll download it and @JohnFawkes will create a TWRP-flashable "ROM" version based on the KDZ. When that happens, you will find it in his thread as well as my US998 KDZ thread, and you'll install it yourself.
EDIT:
Link to download KDZ from LG BRIDGE posted in US998 KDZ thread. Thanks to @Redline.

How to update rooted device?

Hi,
I thought that after rooting OTA won't be available but I just got a notification about an update.
Is it safe to click "restart and install"? will it keep the device rooted?
if not, what's the easiest way to update?

Last time I updated, I noticed that TWRP took over the updating process if you have it flashed.
While updating, TWRP wont let the updating script to replace the recovery partition, so TWRP remains after the update, after that you have the option to flash more zips if you wish to.
I'd recommend you reflash SuperSU after the update.

I dont know what makes the OTA so large... I could be wrong but it is probably an OTA you would get if you were to be updating from M-N or something.... I just went right for the full firmware package, if you never used flashfire here is all the instructions https://flashfire.chainfire.eu/ but its pretty simple, click the + button at bottom right, click flash firmware package, select the files to flash and it will start doing its thing, I chose not to flash recovery when you get to that point, I was concerned it was gonna flash the stock recovery so didnt want to do that....
I flashed the OTA but now my root is gone

Hey guys! I have enrolled to beta program to get 7.1.1 so now I am on 7.1.1 October 5 patch. But I got a security update patch and I thought that I've done nothing with my root to the /system so I tried to update my phone using restart & update function in "System Update" . It brought up TWRP with some failed script. Now I'm on October 5 patch and I don't have any notification about system update and it shows that my system is up to date. How can I get and flash the November 5 security update? Please help

It says that flashing factory image will prevent getting future OTAs. So should I check that webpage every month to get the security updates? Os there a way to get OTAs back?

Well actually now I got the OTA. The problem is I don't know how to flash it. Because FlashFire is not working anymore.
If you can figure out where is downloaded to I am sure flashfire will flash it, When mine was downloaded I couldn't find the file in system/cache or anywhere else so I gave up and just flashed the whole firmware package.... If you find it, let me know how it goes...

Yes it makes sense. These are not incremental OTA zips that you may be used to from previous Nexus devices.

This is a full OTA patch. The quick explanation is that these OTA zips will update over whatever you have installed (custom rom, stock, rooted, etc) and will patch every partition to the zips OTA level. You could be on OTA #1, 2, 6, 11 or whatever, the zip will update over each previous update.

I think it is in data/ota_package/update.zip. I can see it with root browser but FlashFire doesn't see it.

Supposing you have no other mods installed and no other changes to /system have been made, unroot, reboot, then see if you can adb sideload that update.zip. If it fails, you have two ways on how to do so successfully and without Flashfire like you asked.

Flashfire doesn't fully support Oreo yet so that's a no go, same with TWRP. ADB sideload might work.
I just flashed it this morning and had no problems.
I flashed a couple of hours ago official OTA package via ADB. No problems till now.
I took the plunge and flashed the 8.0 stock factory image the done a factory reset after to make sure and it been great ever since turned off animation and it's nippy just wish battery was about better but I'll give it a few days see if that goes

Yes, Pro v0.60. I also maintained root and twrp. I had supersu 2.82-sr3 installed at the time so make sure you have that.

It is true that the OTA is out there. I confirm it because I signed-up to beta program to get the update and two days later I opted out to see if this is the latest official OTA ROM and I didn't get the update. So if you don't want to wait you can do the same it's safe. You can check the latest OTA here: https://developers.google.com/android/ota
The version is the same I have. 8.0.0 OPR6.170623.013.
I can confirm that jd1639's method works for people rooted with TWRP.
- download OTA (https://developers.google.com/android/ota)
- run Flashfire 60.0 (free version is OK)
- when asked "A system update has been detected", cancel
- Flash ZIP or OTA
- uncheck "restore boot and recovery images"
- press "EverRoot" and select "Inject SuperSU" and "Preserve recovery"
- Flash
- wait patiently
I tried flashing the modem FW using "Flash firmware package" on the OTA zip file. It rebooted and the screen went black for many minutes. I had to hard reset.
Can anyone confirm the 8.0 baseband? I have M8994F-2.6.39.3.03. I know that's the baseband for the 8.0 developer preview, but I wanted to make sure it was the final.

No. There is no such problem. You can do it with any of the two ways if you didnt get the OTA until now. 1) Sign-up for the beta program install the update and then opt-out of it. 2) Flash the OTA files from Google to your phone. Or 3) But these are rumors and I can't be sure: An update will come at 11 of September with new Version of Oreo 8.0.1 with better support for Carriers (it is 8.0.0).

Nothing via OTA update
Only images are available
Just get it on OTA via US IP (vpn), but update dont star
Im rooted, is't interfering??
These wouldn't allow a user to downgrade, correct? Like, to 7.1.0, use dePixel8, and then root?
Can the updates be installed out of sequence? I'm currently on the Oreo March update, can I install the May update without installing April first?

if you're rooted, then the ota won't apply via the google system update. your rom has to be completely stock in order for it to work. your bootloader can be unlocked. i don't know about flashing the ota via twrp. i've never done it.

If you have TWRP installed I suspect you have rooted your device or tweaked it in some other way.
In this case OTA updates won't work.
You have to be on unrooted full stock firmware incl. stock recovery (can be found in the related fastboot firmware as "recovery.img").
If you are:
Transfer the file to phone’s internal storage. Go to Settings > apps Provide storage permission to Motorola Update Services app. Check for OTA updates from Settings.
The package will be automatically detected and system upgraded.

You have to ask the OP, @Amishrabbit for that. But yes, the name the file has now is wrong, it has to be named something like Blur_Version.xx.xx.xx.potter.retail.en.US .

Well, my initial reply closed itself without posting, so I'm trying again.
I'm a novice at this stuff. I don't know any instructions about how to install it. I do know that I extracted the URL for the update from the logcat output from the phone on a debugger, and the URL was live for about 10 minutes and now doesn't respond, so presumably it's a time-limited download.
I did rename the file, and I know it's from an official OTA source URL, so I'm pretty sure you can't install it with TWRP. I don't have TWRP installed on this phone and retrieved and installed it using the normal System Update method.
I've attached a screenshot of the phone's version numbers. I can't find a reference to the "Blur" number above on the phone's UI, but the file itself contains the following string, so this appears to be a pairing of (newer version) (older version)
Code:
Blur_Version.28.231.5.potter.retail.en.US )Blur_Version.28.211.2.potter.retail.en.US
The Blur* filenames were only for nougat OTAs, Oreo OTAs are named according to the version you are upgrading *from*.
They can't be installed using TWRP, the stock recovery is required, as is an untouched system, OEM, modem, and other partitions.
If you're rooted, just use the TWRP flashable zips, easier...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5...o-twrp-flashable-stock-builds-coming-t3830482
Note that I do have the most recent retus zip there, but haven't yet updated the OP. Link for that is in the last couple of pages.

Question TMO OTA zips for download?

I tried searching with no luck. I'd like to download the latest TMO OTA update so I can extract the boot image myself and use it to root the device. Anyone know where I can find a download to it? Latest TMO firmware is: LE2127_11.C.17_0170_202204081927
You have to make sure bootloader is unlocked first. I did it with the 11.2.9.9 being I am on A11 from the instructions posted the guide from Steve0007. Then installed another script from another senior member lebigmac and I now have full root...

Could someone advise me on how to update to the latest OTA? I'm on 11.2.6.6.LE5ACB and was rooted and had TWRP installed. I've managed to flash my stock boot.img and can confirm TWRP is no more. The System Update is prompting me to install LE2127_11_C.16 (147mb) but fails with an "installation problem" error. Do I need to flash the boot.img from the 11.2.99 and then flash that incremental update, then the full C16... or can I jump to the C18 boot.img.
Apologies in advance, I've been at this all day.
Thanks
I believe the issue is that your bootloader is unlocked. Don't try to lock it though you could end up hard bricking your phone. You have your unlock_code.bin so I suggest you msm and take the ota updates directly from T-Mobile before unlocking your bootloader. Don't just try flashing the updates from above or you'll end up in a brick. Download the ota updates in the order that T-Mobile sends you.

It is definitely unlocked. Sigh. Just to confirm, there's no way to flash the full 11.C_16 TMO OTA from recovery or fastboot then? Trying to avoid the full wipe via MSM but appears to be inevitable.
Thank you

Open Magisk and uninstall and restore original boot.img..... close Magisk, do the OTA update then let me know what version you are on. I don't recommend going to 11.C_17 which is Android 12 it is crappy. I am LE2127 TMO 11.2.9.9 Android 11 fully rooted with custom fonts and custom bootanimation
The way I think that it will work is if you msm back to factory tmo . You still have bits and pieces left over. So save everything you want to a PC and then start fresh. This will also do away with a lot of issues that happen when you try to do a what they call a dirty flash.

I had unlocked bootloader and was still able to update OTA C17 A12 and root with Magisk...I did completely uninstalled Magisk after restoring the boot img in Magisk....
I had installed TWRP, and I think that was my problem. Even after restoring the original boot.img, it was still failing. I MSM'd to stock and then had no issues receiving the OTAs.
