Does anyone know if any ROMs available provide the Pop Up Play feature provided by the Galaxy S III as seen here:
http://www.geek.com/articles/mobile/galaxy-s3-popup-play-video-20120620/
That would be sweet to have it on a JB ROM.

I heard Moboplayer has been updated to allow the pop-up video thing.
EDIT - Just tried it and yeah, it works great! Just start a video then hit the home button and the video keeps playing in a thumbnail. You can resize it and drag it around the screen to your heart's content.
EDIT 2 - Tested it out and it works great while browsing the net, playing games (Cartoon Wars, Major Mayhem etc) and eve while playing another video in Youtube.
Only time it crashed for me was when loading up Real Racing 2 but then again it is a buggy piece of EA Games crap so I wouldn't throw blame at Moboplayer for that.

You could use moboplayer , the latest version has an update which allows pop up playing by pressing HOME while the video is playing.
Otherwise you could Super video from S3 from:

I have been using this since ICS and it works perfectly on my JB too.
I wanted to be able to view web pages on Note 2 just like I can on iPad. I downloaded Dolphin HD browser, tried changing User Agent to iPad / Nexus 7 /iPhone. I have been disappointed with overall experience. When I change the User Agent to Nexus 7, I can see full CNN page, but when I click on Videos, it says I need Adobe. I can run videos when using iPad UA, but the quality is mediocre. Is there a way to surf the internet like you can on iPad? View full websites and run videos?

if you need adobe flash player then install it? iphone doesn't have flash i'm pretty sure. so your overall experience will be 100 times better on android also, dolphin hd browser does NOT support flash. you'll need to use the mini dolphin or the stock browser to view things in flash. most sites still don't seem to support HTML5. i've seen very few. oh and jelly bean doesn't have official flash support, but it still works perfectly.
so google how to side-load flash player. if you don't know how. problem solved.

What I'm trying to get at is, if iPad/iPhone can convert and play that video in HTML5, why can't an Android device play it if I change user agent to that of an Android tablet. I don't want flash. Just want to be able to play videos from full-websites, not mobile sites.
A example of site were you have this problem?

CNN full site. Try running any video. It only renders videos in mobile version of the site, in full version it displays Flash installation message.

Just download adobe flash from adobe's own website and it'll work fine. I can confirm it works on my ipad 3 as html 5.

I did download flash and it is workable, lil choppy but I guess I will take it. Not as smooth as on the iPad.
Also, I went to a Staple store yesterday and checked out couple of Android tablets including Nexus 7 and ran into the same situation on all tablets. I went to CNN, it opened full page, but when I clicked on the video, it presented Adobe message. Download Dolphin, then it works in HTML5, but a little grainy. This is something that just works on the iPad natively in HTML5
I noticed that you mentioned that you use Dolphin browser. I've noticed that the performance of the Dolphin on the Note 2 is less than good IMO, especially compared to stock. I would recommend trying Boat Browser instead, and just run flash. It's much better that way.

Much better! And the browser is free, I will take it. Thanks. Boat Browser + Flash apk puts me in the ballpark where I don't have to reach out for my iPad. :good:
Need HD Netflix apk that runs on Note 2. HD please. Trying to get the app to output through hdmi MHL at full hd. Please help.
Unless it's official from Netflix I wouldn't trust it. A while back their was a virus from one of the hacked apk's.
Sent from my Amazing Galaxy Note 2!
I'm not aware of one. I think the MHL issue is in the Netflix APK code. It maybe with the HML itself or in TouchWiz.
the official one from the play store works great. Go into your netflix account settings on thier site and you can set the video quality to your device

actually, that setting is for all one's netflix linked devices. And the quality looks good on the GN2 display. It's the output via HDMI/HML on the display/TV you connect where it looks bad. I had that setting already and had the issue too.

Thanks everyone. I think its a Netflix issues. The MHL works great with everything else.

I was curious if there were anyone using the Pixel C for emulating games. I think dolphin is one of the most resource intensive emulator out right now with good android suppprt
So for those who are using Dolphin, what type of performance levels are you getting with various games?
I'm curious about Mario and Zelda games the most, but I'd like to hear as much feedback as possible.
Also, does disabling encryption help with performance of dolphin emulation or is the bottleneck CPU/GPU?
Thanks in advance!
Ive never even thought of this. I should try it. Thanks

I'd love to hear about your experience with it
Like which games you tried out and what FPS you were getting on them

In the main menu you can open a sidebar by pushing on the Dolphin then settings->Input->Input Overlay->Input Overlay Layout
Mariokart runs in Time Trials mode not bad (depands also on the Track) but i think Grand Prix is not playable
edit: sadly there are no updates since 2014. I think with some optimations dolphin could run all games :crying:
hi i'm new user of google pixel c and i run perfectly on dolphin emulator games of gamecube like zelda wind waker and zelda twilight princess but i use the new build of this emulator wich is update often to improve all. The actually dolphin android emulator builds are on this page:
As i can't put you link here type in google search this:
builder release android buildbot dolphin emulator
and click on first link then to download apk of build you need to click on number of build like 930 to obtain build page and click on file in "steps and logfiles" field
like in this case
"dolphin-master-5.0-1605.apk"
for best configuration i can't put link like pictures then if you need i could you tell screen by screen in text here, if you need.
PS: sorry for my bad english i'm french ^^
