64-Bit Pie? - Moto G6 Play Questions & Answers

So I'll start this off by saying I haven't used the official version of Pie, due to having an unlocked bootloader, and can't find a download so I can install manually. But here's my question:
I know the G6 Play supports 64-Bit, so are any of the Pie ROMs available on this phone 64-Bit? I'm currently using the Descendant GSI, and its 32. I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a 64-Bit version of Pie, if one even exists.

There is no 64bit rom available unfortunately. It would require someone building a rom specifically for our device compared to a gsi image. One can exist if someone decides to build a rom that is able to use the 64bit architecture but that alone would be a hassle not including already building one for the device in general. before this device got it's own forum this question was asked and answered way better than I can answer it lol

there's no relations between having an unlocked bootloader and not updating to pie, just as a note. as long as your phone is on stock stat, with no modifications, just go and upgrade.

Unlocked bootloader Android 6

So say install stock asop Android 6 with Gapps on Asus zenfone 2 with an unlocked bootloader. What has happened to any of all you with your device? Was the os bootlooped or any other issues I need to beware of?
You can say goodbye to your phone...
Marshmallow isn't ready for the Zenfone 2 yet, it has an Intel X86 processor in it, most other phones use ARM...
Do it and you will have a brick...
Actually there is AOSP build of Android 6.0 for this device,
you can find it at http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/development/rom-android-surce-project-t3287218
and if stock meant google stock aosp build then i agree with you.
i have not used it so cant say how stable/usable it is atm, however there is also cm13 build as well
Thread closed per OP request.

Does 6.1 support Treble?

[UPDATE]
Confirmed to support Treble by "ali ba".
Hello all,
I've read lots of conflicting news about the support status of Project Treble in Nokia 6 (2018),
Can anyone confirm the support or the lack of it once and for all?
Thanks.
Correct me if I'm wrong but every device launching with 8.0 has to support Treble does it not? I guess the problem lies with whether Nokia will provide the ability to unlock the bootloader. I'm not sure if it makes a difference that this is an Android One device in this respect.
Does anyone have an official firmware available for download? I have TA-1054, China version and it seems it has a custom firmware. Thank you.

You're absolutely right, the problem is the Chinese release was on Nougat, and nobody has yet ran the Treble flag test on the international version.. maybe because not so many hands got it yet... We'll wait..
According to the test app it does support Treble, but I'm not sure whether to trust it.
Came with an update out of the box and I didn't check the version before applying it (which would have made that clearer).

Thank you very much!!! finally some useful results, I think we can trust the app, but just to make sure, could you please follow the procedure described in this page.. more specifically the terminal flag test..
https://www.xda-developers.com/project-treble-android-oreo/
Also, do you own the Chinese device or the international one?

Here is a screenshot from Treble Check on Nokia 6.1
(TA-1043/Europe/Android 8.1 update/Shipped with Android 8.0)
Code:

Hi, same here. Do you have any news? Have you managed to install unmodified Android to your TA-1054? Will appreciate any info.
Thanks.

Nope, no news yet.
Can someone tell us the difference between all Nokia 6 2018 models please?
TA-1068
TA-1045
etc...
Is there a specific model for 'Worldwide' like Nexus/Pixel?
Is there a Europe version?
...
...
THANKS!
[Update]
Just noticed you actually did just that... Thanks.
I think this is an important topic that deserves it's own thread..
Would you care to start it?, also what models are sold in what markets?
That would be useful.
cheers.
Try to obtain the global firmware of TA-1054. I can provide you with the firmware.
I have two Nokia 6.1 devices. One is TA-1054 and the other is TA-1089. Both Global/International/Made in India version. I have the firmware files. But I doubt, you'll be able to flash them with the Stock recovery in your Chinese Variant. If you want the links, I'll provide you. And yes, Nokia 6.1 supports Treble. And I've recently flashed Android 11 GSI. Well, only issue was unlocking the boot loader to flash custom recovery. I never want to bootloader unlock any other Nokia phone anytime soon.
The TA-10xx naming determines the variant of the phone. The (4 + 64 GB) variant is TA-1089. The values change depending on the ram and storage size. Also newer models for the same phone we're released with Mediatek processors and Snapdragon for different markets. Just like Samsung does, sells the Exynos variant in Asia while selling the Snapdragon variant in US, UK, EUR, etc. Nokia also started doing this with their Nokia 5.1 and 5.3( if I recall correctly, not sure). So those phones have multiple variants. The TA-10XX naming scheme is quite similar to RM-xxx scheme followed by Nokia in the past, when Nokia was owned by Nokia and not HMD. In fact, their shift to TA-XXXX naming suggest that they belong to the family of Android/HMD owned Nokia and not the old Nokia. Even the 3310 (The beast) and 8110 4G have TA-XXXX product code instead of the RM-XXX. It's like a product code which can determine the RAM, Storage and Chipset as well as Region of the device.
So to flash Android R, TWRP or TWRP based custom recovery is required. Then flash any Android 10 Custom ROM with Treble support. Also flash dm no verify.zip with the ROM. Reboot to set up device. Don't add any Google account and password, etc. Then again boot into TWRP, changed to Image mode from zip mode in Install. Flash the system.img from Android 11 GSI.
Then reboot.

I still can't get the Android 9 update for some reason

I've been anticipating the Android 9 update for my XA2 for a while. I see most people are getting it and for some reason I just don't have it. I'm still on 8.0 and the System Update section says I'm at the latest version. Am I missing something?

Although its very irritating situation for any Android user that he/she have device which have been got latest Android version by manufacturer but they doesn't get yet, but in XA2 case i feel its much batter that this device user stay on oreo after getting pie experience.. believe me its really useless update, don't have even new launcher 9 and user interface, and the most disappointing thing is worst camera performance that previous, camera was perform well when XA2 was on oreo, but now i am feeling my device like a piece of **** and nothing
Try download a android 9.0 based ROM via latest XperiFirm and flash via newflasher (this app is for all platforms like Linux, MacOSX, Windows) but fist find guide how to flash this ROM because you will first must delete some .ta files before flashing.
Lucky you, I miss the oreo camera so much. Better skip this OTA.

Is there any 64bit rom ava?

I have Motorola Moto G7 Play XT1952-1 version
I discover my device have 32bit os version.
Stock 9.0 and 64bit ARMv8-A CPU.
I cant install cintra and Dolphin newest version.
Is there any chance to reflash stock moto g7 play dual 64bit rom?
All Moto G7 Play stock ROMs, including the stock ROM for the 3GB model, are 32bit. You will have to go the custom ROM route to get 64bit.

Likelihood of a 64-bit ROM coming to this device is slim to none. Simply does not attract developer attention given modest specs (which another reason 64 bit makes little sense).

Android 10 Update questions.

Hey guys, i'm with a little trouble here. The update for Moto G7 Play to Android 10, it's a 32 bit os or 64 bit os? With the "new" directives of Google to only accept 64 apps in Store, there'll be some troubles with 32 bits os, right?

* I'm running Android 10 right now. It is still 32bit. Motorola has never updated a device to 64bit, with the exception being, this one time that they accidentally made 64bit source code temporarily available for the Moto G5.
* The new directive from Google requires apps that were 32bit, to also provide a 64bit version now.
* Arm32 support isn't scheduled to be dropped until at least 2022.

Soooo, no 64bit OS for Play. Maybe in G7 or G7 power? And if it has 64bit OS for them, maybe an port for us?
"The new directive from Google requires apps that were 32bit, to also provide a 64bit version now." - I'm asking because i'm a Pokémon Go player, and Niantic will cease 32 bit version support in August. So, i'm screwed... Thank you for the info bro"

Yep, that is correct. Aug. 2021 begins phase out of 32bit apps in the play store. 2022 drops it completely from source I believe. So after 2022 no more security updates for 32bit either.
The Moto G7, G7 Power, and G7 Plus all have a 64bit OS. If I could port from them, I would. The custom roms for those devices can be installed on the G7 Play, and they almost boot up, but we need a 64bit vendor to make it work. And I don't have the slightest clue how build it. If I could get someone to dump a raw vendor.img from either the G7 or G7 Power, it might be possible to just dd the image and make it work. We use the same chipset as those two.
There's probably like 5 people total on xda who can take an OS from 32bit to 64bit, and none of them have provided a tutorial, and none of them are interested in building for us either. It's unfortunate.

32-bit apps will continue to exist. The requirement is to have all 64-bit for 64-bit devices (in other words, no 32-bit apps are allowed to exist without 64-bit equivalents, so 64-bit devices will no longer be under-served by 32-bit apps).
There are too many low-end phones out there to abandon 32-bit support, at least for most developers, including Google's own apps. Maybe support for 32-bit will end sometime around 2030, but not 2022.

Has anyone been able to permanently install TWRP and root to a Q stock rom? I am currently using the new update XT1952-6_CHANNEL_T_MPCS_10_QPY30.85-18 downloaded from the lollinet servers. By the way, I recommend it for the xt1952-6 variant.
