Hey, guys. My moto z2 force sometimes can't receive incoming calls and messages. I always use the vibration mode, so my phone is vibrating, but nothing appears on the display. And I can't open the phone or message app.
I've tried using third-party phone and messages apps. But issues still happen.
The model is 1789-03. And I flashed the rom, baseband, basically all to 1789-06 (Asian retailer). Wondering if the baseband went wrong or just the hardware's problems.

I've been having various issues with my T999L for the last several weeks:
1) the phone will just crash without warning. This seems related to text messaging somehow, or to Handcent, as it most often happens while I am in the middle of typing a text message. However, it does happen on occasion at other times.
2) My phone will sometimes just lose the ability to send text messages. I've tried uninstalling Handcent and using the stock app but it doesn't help. Rebooting does nothing as well. I'll try to send a text and it will just spin forever. It can last anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes, after which I can send messages by deleting all pending messages and then resending them. I don't lose LTE data or the ability to make calls. only texting is affected.
Both these issues have happened on CM11 and PAC-man, so I'm not sure if my phone is somehow damaged or it's a kernel problem or what. I'm kind of hoping it's a known issue and there's a fix, but I haven't been able to find anything.

Ive had this happen a few times as well. When it starts spinning I turn on airplane mode and then once it comes on I turn it back off and usually the message will go through.
Try using a stock based rom and see if issue persists
Hi everyone
I was wondering if someone could help me with this. Thing is I didn't want to upgrade to lollipop but the phone started restarting by itself, freezing and a screen with "facebook has stopped" or "google services has stopped" will appear constantly in the las few days. I had to perform a factory reset and when I did, the phone upgraded by itself to lollipop. Everything seemed to be working fine but now even I assign an specific notification tone for each contact whenever I receive a whatsapp message it will not work and the standard notification tone will sound instead. I was so used to identify whoever was whatsappin' me just by the notification tone and now I can't. Do you know if this is a common issue related to the lollipop upgrade? or does it have to do with the factory reset and I might need to uninstall/install the whatsapp app? If this has todo with the l upgrade it will be so frustrating because nowadays nobody on the world actually calls but texts and it is more useful to have an specific notification sound for each texter... Thank you guys

the caller and called are not able to hear a word. If i cut the call and dial back then the call goes thru perfectly.
This happens to all the incoming calls. I tried clearing cache & Dalvik cache but still, the problem persists.
Then i reinstalled the rom again then also the problem persists. Even tried a different rom (AICP) but the problem persists.
The sim works perfectly on a different phone and hence this is no sim problem.
I guess it is not a hardware issue since the call goes thru when i dial a number.
The problem is only in incoming calls. The phone is z2 plus.
Has anyone faced a similar issue and have been able to resolve it?

I suffered a similar problem couple of months ago, clean flash without using the google backup to restore the apps & settings should solve it
Hi, everyone.
So I've flashed the RR rom with magisk and OpenGApps on my Z2 play. Everything was working fine, but a week ago I experienced some kind of glitch. When I'm receiving a call the phone vibrates, but I can't pick the call up because it is not showing up anywhere. Similar with outgoing calls, once I press "call", the phone gives out dialing tone, but is still in contacts section without anything in notification bar. Could anyone help? This is really getting on my nerves, because I can neither pick up nor drop calls, not even talking about other things (speaker, mute, keypad etc.)

i have the same issue and i´m on stock oreo. i find the call appears if you open the phone app, then the "return to call in progress" dialog appears and by selecting that it shows the incoming call screen and you´re able to pick up. super annoying as i can´t see who´s calling or pickup until i do what´s written above. i cleared the phone app cache but didn´t sole, hope pie will solve this thing
This has happened twice and the only fix was to do a factory reset. Seemingly at random I'll stop receiving a call notification and my phone does not ring. The only way I know I missed a call is if they leave a voicemail because I'll get an alert for a new voicemail. I was literally looking at my phone and had a voicemail pop up and it didn't ring or anything.
I was rooted, stock rom for years and out of the blue I started to get only a voicemail but never heard my phone ring and no missed call notification and nothing in the incoming call log. Did a factory reset, updated apps and everything was working fine on the stock unrooted rom (just in case a magisk mod messed it up). Now out of nowhere it started again, no ring and no incoming call display. The 3xL is no longer being updated and was working as normal after factory reset with the newest rom from the google website.
I would rather not have to keep doing this every 2-3 weeks because I don't know when exactly it stops working because if they don't leave a voicemail I have no idea I had missed a call. Phone is not in DND/silent because I've held my phone looking at something and just get a voicemail and the phone didn't ring or show incoming call so I know that is not the problem. If this is a widespread problem I have not seen any reports of it and a factory reset should have solved it if was a regular software issue but the same problem started happening twice now.
Edit: I've tried multiple dialers, truephone, and I've disabled Wifi calling but still no change.
E2: Ok, finally tried out a non stock rom, LineageOS. Incoming calls are working again, I didn't doubt they would after a reset because they seemed to work after the last time I reset to stock rom. I'll see how things go I guess.
