The digital clock has disappeared from the lockscreen of my Zenfone 2. I think it happened after the latest firmware update. The weather symbol is still there but no time. Can't find a setting anywhere for lockscreen clock and it doesn't seem to be connected with the What'sNext app.
Can anyone help please?
Update: failed to solve the problem...but clock now back with a restore.
Go to Apps and on top of screen you will see widgets. There are several clock widgets you can select.

Thanks for the reply but I don't think they are lockscreen widgets...just homescreen ones.
Also while you're here...any idea when a Lollipop 5.1 update is coming out! We need better battery life. Great phone apart from that.

Same issue here when I used TiBu to freeze a bunch of stuff I ended up enabling the weather app again and rebooting then it came back. I can't say conclusively that the weather app made it come back because I would restore apps in batches of 3-5 to see if it would work. Did you uninstall anything or freeze any installed apps?
i deleted the asus cover app while messing with the bloatware, can anyone upload a backup here along with the setupwizard apk

Hello.
I've uninstalled the most of google apps (drive, hangout, books...) but noone of the asus ones.
A probably silly question: if I make a phone reset, do I have those app I've uninstelled back or I only unroot the phone?
Thanks again!
Luigi.

Did you change any other settings? Gapps won't affect the lock screen so there a no need to do a factory reset. I'll look into it and see if I can narrow the issue down
Thanks.
I've only flashed system.img with Z008 WW 2.15.40.13 for rooting it and uninstalled those apps.
The latest firmware did that for me, is like a widget size change for lockscreen or something in the like, the click is there, when you boot your phone you can see it but when the weather loads is gone, like if the widget is shifted left. Think we need to wait for next update to get that corrected.
This happened to me too after freezing WEATHER. Enabling it back aolved the problem.
I can confirm that freezing weather was the cause of my lockscreen clock going away.
Hmmm.. I actually didn't freeze the weather. It's still on and going..,
But I've noticed a (maybe) strange thing.. in App notification I've tried blocking Live Weather, but then it was still on the lock screen.. I would have expected it to disappear from there, but maybe I'm just wrong...
Anyway, I've installed CM Locker cause clock on lockscreen is very useful.. the bad thing is that now with CM Locker I miss ZenMotion shortcuts (opening apps drawning letters on the lock screen)..
Uffffff....
Even with the latest update, still nothing, the only change was that now the weather widget is centered but no clock still, any ideas? I miss my clock.

Restoring the weater app which I had frozen did the trick. I wouldn't have figured out where that was hidden without this thread. Thanks!
Sorry for the stupid question, how do you purple freeze stuff? Are you rooted? Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I never thought weather app has something to do with clock on lockscreen.
Unfreeze weather and reboot worked like a charm.
zenfone 2 lock screen vanishes
Hi,
Any updates regarding the lock screen clock issue jn zenfone 2. I have tried all the possible options except a restore. Is there any solution for this problem. Pls help if u have overcome this problem.
Thanks in advance.
I tried it. Its because you have probably disabled weather app. Enable it & reboot your device and boom your clock(time) is back.
Hello,
I tried amiweather as lock screen, but it does not show weather of my city as well as it needs so many unnecssary permissions like reading SMS, MMS etc, so I don't trust it.
I found an alternative animated weather live wallpaper made from Yahoo. But unfortunately we can't make as a lock screen in ELEPHONe P8000 as there is no setting for editing lock screen in theofficial o0r custom roms. Can anybody help me if there is a way to set it as the lock sceren walpaper.
Elephone is good , the only problem is there is no good firmware.
So I hate this company and I will not recommand anybody to buy their product unless they are not taking care of the software part seriously. They are upgraded the firmware three times now , but nothing for lock screen yet
Thanking You

hi,
i have also looked how to get this working. but the firmware don't support it. BUT with cyanogenmod, this feature would work and is inbuild already. so lets hope, that BlueFlame get RIL working, then we dont need to use the bad elephone software anymore.

Information about the functions of the new Xiaomi Mi Band 3 found by AndroidTR.es. Apparently the new bracelet will have touch screen and weather information. The way to interact with the Mi Band 3 will be similar to Wear OS and the button will work as "home".

Since I bought Redmi note 5 pro I am having this issue.
I installed the Nova Prime Launcher and gave it auto start permissions & all other permissions etc. I also installed Spotify, work shift calendar paid app, baby feeding time, WhatsApp and many other app, The following morning i noticed missing home icons/widgets, offline music had gone and widgets all disappeared.
I've done some digging around. Initially I turned off the scheduled cleaner in the security app, thinking this was the culprit but the following morning the above items were gone again. I found a post somewhere saying to turn off the Mi backup, which i did. This morning I got and seen stuff had disappeared again.
I have tried couple of launchers having same issues.
Has anyone any ideas? Please see attached a pic of my calendar widget, which I setup yesterday and it's disappeared today. I got auto switch off & on feature on.
Many thanks
@rajverma3135
Which MIUI version are You running ? Do those widgets disappear even on stock Mi Launcher ?
Sent from my whyred using XDA Labs
To be honest I haven't tried stock miui coz I can't alphabetically organise icon, its shame no option to do that.
I am on miui 9.6.3.0(0EIMIFD)
Thanks for your reply.
After I turned my WHYRED information the first time I really wanted to have a LTE discovery widget to see, which LTE band I'm currently using. Unfortunetly I couldn't. The widget would load and stay, but after a few seconds all data from it would disappear leaving empty frame with a "no info available" or something like that. Out of nowhere after a few months it started working
Mebay try one more thing. In recent apps menu (at least in MIUI 9) when you swipe down of a particular app it gets pernamently (until You swipe down again) stuck in RAM mening it can't be killed. Try that
Sent from my whyred using XDA Labs
You mean this when there is a lock symbol on the icon as its in screenshot? Thanks
Your screenshot doesn"t load for for me (in XDA lamps and in browser) so i can"t tell :/
Edit. It loaded
Yes. This is what I was talking (wrighting actually ) about
Hi @MikiGry
I tried but today morning it was disappeared again, so that's not solution. It's very annoying
Does it happen to all widgets or some specific ones ?
Sent from my whyred using XDA Labs
On all widgets.
Are You using per-aplication power saving feature ?
Sent from my whyred using XDA Labs
No by default I had power saving option eblnabled, but I have given no power saving to these apps which I want widgets. Thanks
I'm out of ideas :/
Maybe go to developer options and disable MIUI optimizations ?
Sent from my whyred using XDA Labs
I'm experiencing the same problem with widgets disappearing after reboot on MIUI 10 (Android 8.1.0), device Xiaomi MI8 .
Turning off "MIUI Optimizations" in developer settings also did not fix the problem.
I had the same problem - the gmail widget is still ok - other widgets not
the problem is the backup.
the backup removes the widgets (and sometimes some icons)
go to: settings => system&device =>additional settingsbackup&reset => auto backups => turn them off
and don't make manual backups there.
