Hi,
I've noticed a strange issue on my LG G7, sometimes when playing music (spotify or default music player) and having the headsets connected, trying to adjust the music volume is not working, instead the Call Volume adjusting ...
Has anyone noticed this?
Any idea what is wrong?
Rebooting the phone seems to fix it.

It happened again, I'm attaching some pics.
As you can see trying to adjust the volume while playing spotify, the Call volume appears instead of the Music volume.
And the call volume and music volume date being adjusted at the same time, but not smoothly (in steps of 1) but in steps of 10...
Still don't know what triggers this, anyone any idea?

Happens also with me in different scenarios
Thanks for confirmation, and when this happens what do you do, reboot?

Meantime I've found a way to reproduce the issue, seems to work everytime
- using your lg g7 headsets which came with the phone make sure HI-Fi DAC is enabled
- reboot the phone (optional)
- play some music on your music player like Spotify or the default LG music player
- try to adjust the volume, the Media volume will adjust correctly
- while music is playing unplug the headphones, music will stop automatically (might work with pausing the music and unplug the headphones after)
- plug back the headphones and resume the play button on your music player
- try to adjust the volume, the In-Call Volume will pop up instead of the Media Volume
Can others confirm the behavior?

So I tried the same scenarios with some high impedance headphones (Soundmagic 50C) and I just realize:
- when there is no issue with the Media volume controls - the sound is very good and loud at 30% on the Media scale is enough - basically the Quad Hi-Fi DAC got activated
- but when the issue with the In-Call Volume appears (instead of the Media Volume) - the sound is not so loud I have to increase like 50% or so to listen music - so I concluded in this case basically the Quad Hi-Fi DAC doesn't get activated ...
So I'm not sure if is a HW issue or s SW issue, can you guys try to reproduce the issue with the steps I've described in my previous post?
Solution
So finally I've found the issue, one of the application installed on the phone was causing this weird behavior, in my case the Cisco Webex Meeting app.
As soon as I've uninstalled it, the issue was gone, now I can enjoy my new high impedance Soundmagic E50c headphones with the full Quad Hi-Fi DAC.
By the way the sound from this headphones in combo with this phone is amazing

When I try to use my headphones the phone suddenly opens music player by itself and changes songs continiously. I go to settings and force stop the music player. After a while it opens the music player again. While I'm listening a song it starts to change songs suddenly. I tried many ROMs but its always same. What can be the problem ?
I used ARHD, Virtuous Unity, RCMix 3D....
Incompatible headphones. The OEM headphones has a switch that does these functions. Guessing you are using a set of non oem headphones. The oem headphones have more rings on the plug than a standard set of headphones. That much larger ring is bridging out the connection causing you issues when you first plug them in. Then slightly moving the plug may cause your issues to happen as you are listening.
I use a set with a built in mic/mic button and do not have these issues. But a set without a mic or switch will cause this. As the jack gets looser your symptoms will get worse.
I use Phillips SHS3200. I can't use OEM headphones cause they fall from my ears. I have to use headphones with hooks. What can you recommend? I was planning to buy a Sennheiser.

You can pick up a mic adapter cable like this and plug your headphones into it.

Pic pulled from ebay search of "mic headphone adapter". The remote button can then be used to start and stop your music.
Here is the listing

You should be able to find something like this in your local cellphone/electronics store.
I actually took my HTC oem headphones apart at the switch and soldered a better pair of headphones into it. I prefer the ones that set in the ear canal compared to the large uncomfortable ones HTC gives you.
You didn't say if you used the default musicplayer. I know some players have settings to forcestart when headphones are plugged in. Some players also have a "shake/turn/flip/give finger-setting to change tunes. But in the end, it's probably as poster above said. Incompatible headset...
Try an app called 'Headset Blocker' by 'Roadkill' it worked for me. It was suggested to me by someone else on the forums a month or so ago, works fine.
I know there are still some of us that use Google Music here, and since this is my first time with it and the EQ settings, I was wondering if anyone got any recommendations for settings that get them the best sounds, in their opinion?

It all depends on what audio output you're using. Built in speaker, headphones, earphones or external speaker? To be completely honest, EQ's are a very personal preference. What sounds good to my ears might not sound good to yours. Go with what you think sounds good
i start my out on flat and if a song doesn't like it should or how the artist wanted it to sound (do to the speakers) i will adjust the EQ accordingly until it sounds good.

I would not like this EQ setting. Too much mid bass and not enough low end for me, and I like me some treble. I prefer a Checkmark curve
How do you get to this equalizer? Thanks

It's built into the Google Music app. Just go to settings > EQ

^^^^ this ^^^^
This is the best way. Also to, sometimes to "fool" you ears to think there's more bass without distorting your speakers, you can turn the gain down a bit and raise the bass. Now this will lie the volume output, but it's all a give and take.
Other things to consider is the volume you must put your phone at as you'll be using the headphone jack and not a dedicated line out. Also too, the settings of the stereo you're plugging the point into. I'd suggest that you put the eq of the stereo to flat as well to start.
Good luck!

Problem:
Hello, so this is my biggest annoyance with the Robin, which I have been using for about 6-8 months now (and recently FINALLY was upgraded to N).
My problem is that, with any bluetooth device (speakers, headset, car head unit), there are only two styles of volume. This is likely caused by Bluetooth absolute volume (or synchronized volume). I don't know how to disable this without root.
1-3 is VERY quiet, I can barely hear it at all.
4-10 is VERY LOUD, I can't even wear my headphones and listen to music.
I mean, 1-3 goes from like 1-2dB, and then 4-10 jumps straight to 90-120dB. There is no middle ground, and it doesn't help that every bluetooth device now pairs with the volume control, too. I can't set one setting on my phone and fine-tune the volume on my device like I used to be able to a year or two ago.
I would like to listen to music using my phone again, but this is making it impossible..... I don't want to root this phone as it's a work phone and the stock robin android is very good, so I won't be able to manually adjust volume settings (unless that no longer requires root)
Cheers!
Resolution:
Android N simply switched to absolute Bluetooth volume controls. In the past I only knew how to bypass this with root privileges, however my stock Robin OS now shows a new option in Dev options to manually disable Bluetooth absolute volume. Disabling this fixed all sound issues I was experiencing and increased the quality of bluetooth sound.

I had that issue but it kinda just fixed it self randomly. Not 100% sure why though.

So on the G7 as with other recent LG phones I have used (G6 and V30) there is no syncing of the media volume between the device and Bluetooth headphones i.e. you have to set the volume independently on the device and headphones which means on headphones that have no companion app (e.g. Beats Studio 3) you have no way of viewing the volume of the headphones as the media volume shown is just for the device. It is the same story on the Sony WH1000x (but the companion app at least lets me see the volume) but curiously the WI1000x do sometimes link the volumes ok which is strange?
This obviously works on an iPhone and also seems to work just fine on other android phones I have tried recently including the pixel 2xl, Samsung S9+ and OnePlus 6.
Is this just another quirk of LG’s awful software or is there a way around it? It may sound quite minor but as someone who uses his phone for music every day it is really annoying and it making me consider taking the hit and selling it on for a S9+ or 2XL?
Thanks
I would like to have a solution to this as well, it's annoying that Mt by headphones don't sync up the volume with my phone like my s8 did.
I wonder if the fact that the wi1000x work sometimes coupled with there not being a separate Bluetooth volume display means that it is supposed to work but is a long standing bug? It was the same on the G6 and V30. Was hoping it had been fixed with Oreo.
I just had a check at my local HiFi shop.
I tested several headphones on BT to my brand new LG V30.
Only one headset had synchronized volume: Sony WH-1000Xm2
None of the following headphones had sync: my own Sennheiser PXC 550 and the shop's B&O H9i, B&W PX
Strangely, the headset's battery status is shown on my LG status bar so there is a communication, but it seems LG in some way has skipped the volume sync possibility.

I come from Moto Z Play (Oreo, Android 8) and on that device the sync worked without any issues.
Hello Developers !
I have an issue with my Galaxy Note 10+
It started yesterday . The problem is :
When i play audio files on the note 10 + they play normally no matter the audio format
But when i connect Galaxy Buds / Akg Earphones that came in the box *wired*
M4A audio files don't play anymore . Instead the file starts with a sound like a bubble pop and then a noisy sound like glitchy sounds with crackling . As if it's an audio hack
* that is with m4a files and some facebook messenger voice records for some reason *
So i tried searching for a solution .. i went to the settings and searched for a while
Then came across advanced bluetooth settings . And then i enabled dual audio
Tried again . Everything works fine . M4a and FB voice records . But only with the wireless galaxy buds .
The akg wired earphones still have the same problem and i can't find a solution
*I wanted to provide an audio sample of the problem but i don't have another phone to record
Hi, I have the same problem.
I have converted alla "m4a" Music File in "mp3"

Here is a link to the next firmware that will be released. Perhaps your issue is what they are referring to.

I have this problem too. Downloaded music from youtube converted to music would play weird sounds through bluetooth speakers, provided headphones and car. But music from spotify works. What I did was unpaired everything and it works now, except for the headphones. I am still having problem with the weird noise using the usb headphone.
