Forgot unlock password! Plz Help - Huawei Nova 2 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello All,
My friend Has a Nova 2 Plus (BAC-L21), he uses his fingerprint to unlock it, but yesterday his battery ran out and it turned off.
When he connected it to charger and turned it back on, the phone requested a password to unlock.
Apparently he never shuts off this phone! So fingerprint can't be used to unlock the phone and he does not remember the password.
I told him to use Google Android Device Manager to unlock it remotely but he told me he doesn't use any google account on it, so he cannot do it. Apparently he uses this phone as a work phone with another sim to just make calls and take photos for work.
Any way I can unlock his phone without losing his data? Or maybe backup his data and photos off it?
Thank you kindly.

Help unlocking phone please

My daughter has a sprint galaxy note 4 and last night she was watching Hulu and her phone jumped to the password screen, problem is the fingerprint scanner doesnt show up and her password isnt unlocking the phone (wrong password). Im an apple user myself and am clueless to her phone, ive called sprint and they suggested a factory reboot, problem is she has pictures on her phone of her grandmother that passed away and doesnt want to lose them ofcourse. She doesnt have the debugg active and no way to access that that i know of because the phone is locked, is there a way to take off the lock?
Tried restarting the phone? I've had the fingerprint mess up before and only allow me to use password but it fortunately worked

G3 locked out help

Edit: when the device has no internet the email used to unlock the phone is useless. The phone should keep the email and pass locally. So don't forget you pin or let anyone enter the wrong thing. I had to factory reset it however it still retained root. Strange? I wasn't able to obtain any data so far. I may try to dig deeper with a recovery program but right now I no longer need use of the device (my son has a new toy, lol).
This is my phone. Before anyone says it's not trust me it is and I can prove it via old cell bills. And that Google still has it attached to the account.
I need back into it for a few very important photos relating to an accident a few months ago.
This model was on the us cellular network. It is not an active phone. (No data). Here is my problem, not being able to connect to data or wifi networks I am locked out because my son played with the 4 digit pin. The phone now asks for my email and password. Of which I know but the phone will not accept it. Thinking that I might have updated my password since I was on the G3 last I have tried all passwords that I know I have used and still nothing. This phone is also rooted. With stock jellybean.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to avoid data loss. As I need the few images off the phone. After I get them off I really don't care what happens to the device.
march 16 per google was the last active date. From then till now it's only been a paperweight because I thought google backed up my images which isn't the case.
Does google keep passwords in a viewable manner in case I forgot one I used?
Edit: google doesn't save passes for viewing unless in your browser saved password section, however I wonder how it knows of a duplicate pass when changing the current one.

Lock Screen Password / Pin

So I've been disabled on a Note 7 SM-N930W8 Rogers in Canada
I've finally had some time to sit down and write this out. I've been locked out of this Device since January when they blocked these phones in Canada. I completely forgot the pin number I setup when I put a password on this phone when I originally purchased it. I always have my phone on me and I always have a power block. Beleive it or not I've never let this phone die... that being said once night the phone was forced to update and boom wake up 4g Gone wifi gone now it's asking me for a pin number?!?! I've always used the retina or finger to get into the phone. I have some important information to download off this phone, only way i've thought about being able to get into the phone would be WIFI which would connect to my home wifi and then use the mobile.samssung.com account to remove the lockscreen pin or reset it....
I know I can restore the phone to gain access to it, but once I do this, all my data is gone.
Does anyone have any other ideas as to how I can get around this lockscreen situation?
Any help or ideas would be apreciated - i am done with the cat and mouse game just need my docs and will send back!

mi unlock tool keeps resetting my hours

TLDR; is there a way to bypass the mi unlock tool, cuz it ain't working for me. timer keeps getting reset. and no matter what i do, it keeps happening. also xiaomi support is absolutely useless
so i received my k20 pro about a month or more ago with the intention of putting on a custom rom.
from what i can tell, i've done everything right. i initially had 360 hours to unlock according to the tool. opened it again the next day to make sure the counter was going down. and it was fine.
but then i went back about a week later, and the countdown was at 380!!
did some digging and fiddling seems like perhaps i reset the account on the phone somehow or maybe the update to miui 11 reset it, i dunno, it certainly was NOT intentionally signed out.
so i made sure to do everything proper (which btw might be impossible bcuz all the guides are either broken chinese/english translations, or the ui/menus have changed, links to the english forums go nowhere): removed/re-enabled the mi account on the phone. dev mode. pair the account to the mi unlock status
380 hours.... check the next day.... looks good
that was about 6 days ago. so i went to double check the countdown again today.... back to 380!?!?!?!?
what the hell is going on? something reset again? now i legit cant even find the developer options menu. and the mi account thing. something reset developer mode. just had to go reactivate it
is there anyway to just bypass all this crap and unlock the bootloader, or something i am doing to cause this reset??? do i just have to leave the phone on the fastboot screen for 380 hours or something?
its been weeks with miui and i really want it gone, i dont want to start another 380 countdown to just go back a week later and have it reset
plz help, thanks

that was a post i made on reddit a few weeks ago. i've since had a timer in my calendar, to wait the allotted time. only to see the timer reset TWICE. it's about a total of 4 times that this timer reset has happened to me.
i have contacted xiaomi "support" during all these resets and they all send me some boiler plate message along the lines of:
"I would request you to follow the timer/ waiting period shown in Mi Unlock Tool to unlock successfully, you'll see this sentence "Couldn't unlock the device after XXXX hours" which means "Please unlock after XXX hours." There is some translation issue in Mi Unlock Tool. Also would like to inform you that after you've successfully bound your Mi Account, do not log out the approved Mi account from your phone. Otherwise, the timer will be reset and you gotta spend more time waiting again."
i've literally begged them to put me into contact with someone who can actually help. my last message literally said plz don't respond with a canned answer, and guess what, i got the same canned answer, yay.
edit: finally got it unlocked thanks for helping
Hey,
I once got a similar issue where my timer reset itself.
My problem was just to login with my Xiaomi account and tried unlocking once, after that I put the phone in the drawer back without using it very much. You have to use the phone actively to not get the timer resetet.
Try this:
1. activate phone with mi-account and install some apps from google
2. try unlocking with the tool
3. have a sim-card inserted every second / third day and/or always a wifi connection
4. use the phone a bit (I did it after work when coming home for 15 minutes)
Do not log out your mi-account, do not turn on flightmode, do not reset your phone during waiting
after that I had no reset and could unlock my phone with the latest mi unlock tool. I hope this will help you.

I almost did the same steps. I throw it in last corner and was charging it a bit, that's all. Didn't use it at all until the timer was over.
WiFi was activated the whole time and I removed the Sim after login into mi account and apply for unlock. Worked now 2 times this way.:good:

so you guys just used another phone while waiting for the unlock timer? i guess maybe i should just do that. my old phone was a huge POS, hence getting a new one. but maybe it'll be worth it. are we sure it doesnt need a sim card? wifi is good enough. cuz it explicitly says to use the phone data when linking the accounts
thanks guys

How do I unlock my phone without losing data or resetting my phone by factory settings?

Hi everyone!
Recently my phone battery died, and I charged it and after turning it on I cannot unlock my phone. The lock was 4 digit PIN and fingerprint and you have to enter that PIN every time you turn on your phone. So it keeps saying that the PIN is incorrect. Although I am 100 % sure, this is the correct PIN, I used it that morning, and I've been using it for more than a year by now. I had very important files left on this phone and I do not want to lose them.
I've been using this phone since 2018 and lately it's been slow and freezing from time to time. I bought another phone but unfortunately didn't rush with transferring my files to it from my old phone. I don't even have a Xiaomi account on it, and I did not back up any of my data, which was so thoughtless of me. So, I was wondering if there is possibly any way to unlock it without losing data. Please, help me. I really need those files.
I also tried to make an emergency call thinking during a call I could somehow unlock it, lol. But it keeps lagging and saying that "Phone has stopped". I also tried turning it on/off, restarting, entering different PINs (previous ones) but nothing has worked so far. Now I have a warning on the screen saying: "Your device will be wiped after 2 more failed attempts to be unlocked!".
So, I really do hope there is a way to get access to those files. And I'd be extremely grateful if someone could help me out with this.
A data recovery specialist may be able to retrieve them. Leave the phone powered off if you want to go that route. Otherwise you're likely boned.
When you use locks and encryption it is you who are the most likely to be locked out.
Always redundantly backup critical data on a regular basis. If you have a SD card slot, use the SD card to store all critical data and don't encrypt it.
