My charger is failing now, its output voltage has significantly dropped. Does anyone know a good charger replacement?
I think Xiaomi sells the official charger from their store/app. You give it a try
I'm having the same problem since 3 4 months. I bought the mivi cable and same problem was still there..i thought the problem is with the cable then i replaced it with brand new cable but the problem is still there. The actual problem is with the charging port.

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else had a similar problem..
Everytime I connect a car charger, it charges for a second then disconnects itself, the charger is still plugged in, and the engine is running. The red light on the charger is on too. I'm not saying this is a ROM problem or anything at all, but its the second charger I've had that does this, I don't suppose anybody knows a fix if it happens on other devices too?
Is this an official HTC charger?
I know it sounds silly, but most cheap unbranded car chargers cause all sorts of problems. It's usually that they don't short the two data pins, so that the phone thinks it's plugged into a PC. It will then only charge at half rate (500mA) in line with usb standards.
Also, the charger may not even be able to handle a 500mA output, which would suggest why your phones sees the charger, measures the output, sees it as insufficient, and stops the charging. Is there a sticker on the charger starting current output? They can still be misleading though.
An official HTC car charger (just like the mains wall charger) will have it's data pins sorted out. The phone will detect this, and switch to mains charging mode, and draw the full 1000mA. You may have noticed that your phone will charge twice as fast off a mains wall charger than it will from being plugged into a computers usb port.
Trust me I've thrown out about 3 of the cheap ones! Even charging at 500mA, your phone will still not be getting enough juice to do google maps navigation with GPS.
Hope I've helped.

It's a cheap eBay one, but I've bought from the company in the past...when I had an iPhone And it worked perfectly. The first charger had a label saying it's max was 500mA. That lasted about 20 minutes..Need it so much more recently because of my battery drain problem http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996938.
I had no idea HTC sold official ones (seems I lack common sense), will give them a go, at least then I'll get a decent warranty if it doesn't work...

If its a USB charger try a different USB lead. When my Desire arrived brand new the lead would only work properly when I bent the lead round the back of the phone otherwise it would start a charge (LED would light up red, phone says charging) but the battery % would never get any higher. Bought a new official HTC lead and problem solved.
Hello,
Im having a weird USB issue with my Note. I first noticed I started getting a red x whenever i tried charging the battery, meaning that it was not charging at its max capacity. Instead of 1.9 amps like my galaxy s4, my note is charging at 0.4 amps. I read up on it online, and most people pointed to the usb cable. I know my cable is fine, b/c my phone charges at 2 amps, and does not have any issues.
I swapped out the microusb flex cable with a new one i purchased online, and the issue still persists. I have 2 samsung 2 amp charger's and cables (one came with the tablet, the other with my s4) and both have the same issue. What else could it be?
I factory reset, and even tried installing a custom rom, and the issue still persists.
for most people its basically using wrong cable or charger with note , but i see you tried with original and ect. If i had this problem i would go to phone/tablet/accessories shop and say what i want to buy charger , and ask to try it with my tablet in shop, if it works you buy it, if not at least you will know for 100persent its not charger setup you have
Charger must support Apple Ipad 2A signaling, I suspect. The cable must probably have a 4-pin plug, like Samsung's, where the second GND contact is missing. All my other cables with fully populated plugs work, too, but the said contact is not necessarily connected to the GND line.
My old Garmin Street Pilot PNA with mini usb was using the fifth contact to tell whether to go into PC connectivity mode with nothing else, or charging mode while remaining operational.
The charging port in my Htc One M8 was really loose and barely charging, so I purchased a new port thinking this would solve the problem. At first it seemed like it might. However "new" charging port is just as loose as the old charging port even with a brand new samsung cable when I wiggle the cord I get a charge, so I'm inclined to think that the problem is at the port. Has anyone come across this and solved it?
Thanks!
ded
Probably you get a faulty charging port, did you try another cable?
Yes, I have purchased 3 charging ports atm, and 2 new cords, the last cord is supposed to be genuine HTC. I also replaced the battery. My third charging port was working great for a time, but now feels like it's 5 years old. I'm really having a hard time with this
This appears to be a very common problem with official and unofficial ports it's just one of those flaws with this phone and a big reason why so many of my friends gave up on this phone.
htc will claim its due to not using official htc cable but that is bs
I got this phone refurbished from Warehousedeals for the SO.
Does anyone else have charging problems?
It does not charge fully. It is super picky about the charger (eg 90% of phone chargers don't work) and it apparently does not fast charge when connected to the Nokia charger it came with.
Seems to me like this refurbished is actually broken …?
I had similar problems. Turned out the problem was in the original charging cable. Bought a new one, and everything is ok for now.
Similar issues here and I also own a refurbished model. Gonna buy and try a new charging cable from Amazon as the above post said. Hope that fixes the issue.
Edit:- New cable fixes the issue.
I have gs9, original usb type-c cable and charger. I found that cable can charge my phone just from one side not both sides despite it is type-c . How can find what the issue is? How can i fix it?
I checked another original cable+ charger, the problem is same as mentioned above. Just one side which is the same in two cables can charge my phone.

I had the same problem with my headphones once...turned out to be bad soldering on the usb type c port of my headphone (it was a charging and data port for new firmware) and had them replaced so maybe you can get your phone replaced too
If you have had your device for less than 14 days then I would recommend that you take it back to the retailer for a replacement. Otherwise take it to a Samsung Service Center for repairs.
