Hi all, first i'm sorry for my poor english and thanks to anyone can help me After long time of searching how to modify an apk, i decided to modify systemui.apk to change notification pulldown background. i was very happy when i decompile, modified and re-compile in success. And i put modified apk to phone and waiting for good result.But i lost my statusbar and home button was in wrong position ( plz look at attached image ) So i tried 2 way to sign modifid apk : use winrar add META IFF folder straight to new apk and in other way i put back resource.arc file to the new apk after extracted from it. Hmm the resut was not like i hope. So any one here can tell me which step i was wrong or something like it and how to fix to get better result

It's probably the image that's wrong.
You try to flash the rom or use the Backup and then set the lock screen by the member Xda post

Sorry mate, what you mean ? If i remember exactly Themeing tool is your, and u also used it to modify an apk and attention to the notice that you mentioned in your guide before using new apk.

deleting a line in .xml file and put an image.png into drawable-hdpi

yes, i used themingtool without any error in decompiling and re-compiling, but when put new apk to phone , i dont know how to make it work,

first attached file is original apk and next is the one i modified with deleting public.xml and just re-compile

Hello Guys,
I want to change the softkeys on my nexus 4.
I have did it before in older android versions and it worked great.
Intresting enough,
On kitkat I'm having trouble changing the softkeys.
After updating Edify successfully
I can't seem to load the softkeys zip file.
It says:
SKIPPED://system/app/SystemUIapk was not found
WARNING: update.zip would be empty -- not creating one!
I've changed the xml path as follows:
from:
<path>/system/app/</path>
to:
<path>/system/priv-app/</path>
according to the next thread:

and then he says:
can't find control file ...
Guys please advise,

Hi, yes we can help, but keep patient ^^
I'm the OP of the thread you linked, and if you tried to change the xml, you certainly saw the latest messages.. Another member had the same problem and I just changed the xml file, it worked good, are you sure you've done it correctly (I'm not insulting you but, you know...)

When entering the link
I've downloaded MMZT_softkeys_stockreflect.zip
from here:

I've extrected the file locally and receive two things:
1) MMZT_softkeys_stockreflect.xml
2) SystemUI folder which contains other things underneath.

After the change I've compiled the xml and the folder together to a new zip file.
In my nexus 4,
I downloaded ZipThemer
Downloaded the newest CM rom and transfered it to my phone.
Inside ZipThemer I've updated the edify using the CM rom file
and the output was success.

give me your systemui and framework-res.apk. and also the softkeys images. I'll do it for you

So you are under CM? Which version and also, are you sure the systemUi file is in priv-app?

Did you forgot the dot in SystemUIapk when copying it in the forum ?

Those are two apk file in which you replace the soft keys ^^
Go into priv-app and send a screenshot of what you see.

systemui.apk is located at system/priv-app/
while framework-res.apk is located at system/framework/
give me this 2 apk of yours. I'll try do a flashable zip for you later

In fact you must update edify with the zip from the rom you are currently using... I don't know the vanilla rom, in what is it special?

It's the stock android that we have on nexus devices ...
What you get from system update through the phone
Over the air android.
Oh I thought the vanilla was the name of a special rom...
Anyway, try the attached file. But make a full non-droit backup, we don't always know what happens...

with this question, i see the files in your zip.
you have only extracted them, not decompiled the apk.
i think you have to learn how to decompile/mod/compile an apk
Yes...i hv extracted..when tryed to decompile i got a _src file but it was all empty...
And in some videos posted on youtube the folder had all the files present in the .apk file

i dont use apktool on phone, but only on pc.
then i dont know if it has a bugs.
however decompile and extract are two things different.

Many people asked, how i can get Xperia X animation on my
Xperia device running on MM, Well Here is the guide howto modify
it to get that pretty fluid and nice animation.
What it do:
When you locked your phone, and you unlock it
with the lockscreen, the animation goes not up but
from right to the left and your homescreen get opened.
What you need:
Apktool
Framework-res.apk
7zip
Brains
Howto do it:
Decompile your Framework-res.apk
Download the attachment
Open the zip with 7zip
Open Res/Anim
Select all the files
Open your decompiled Framework-res.apk
Go to Res/Anim
Copy the selected files from my zip
Into your Anim folder
Replace? Yes
Copy integers.xml from my zip
Into Res/values folder
Replace ? Yes
Compile and sign
Make A Flashable zip
Flash it
Done
** Note: Don`t forgot to credit and thank me !!

Actually you no need to decompile it, just change the .apk to .zip.
The only thing to do is push the OP files into the ".zip".
After that rename .zip to .apk, and push to system.
You're done.

sorry to bother you again @Pandemic I've just noticed all animations are very smoooth,but i found a small bug with the three-dot-menu animation...this animation is slow. I attached a screenshot so you will know which animation im talking about

If it takes too long for someone to send you
decompile(tool)/ mount(daemon tools) your firmware's system.img and find it in priv app

maybe you will have more chance in TG group, i think most people use custom roms ...
or just extract the rom
