List of safe apps to disable? - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a list of apps to safely disable for firetv 2? i see some threads but old and not sure if up to date.

For Amazon devices running OS 5, this one is pretty much up to date: full-debloat
The git is current to firmware version 5.2.6.8.

You can disable ads without root. Install Blokada.

Thanks!
I'm rooted, so i'll give the rooted version a shot.
Was using AdAware but it was still showing ads, and i'm too lazy to go through the white and black list procedure
I'll see how blokada is

I have a couple questions:
1. Will this work on FTV 1 OS version 5.2.6.9?
2. Does the FTV have to be rooted to run the script? Mine is not rooted.
Thanks

The answer to both questions is yes.
But I would suggest examining the script first. It not only disables, but also removes the apps.
I posted the link as a reference.

Probably not. But go to the guides section "How to Root" & follow the Starter's Guide at the link above & check on your exact device & FW to get a definite answer.

Netflix on 8.1 beta

Anyone have Netflix working on 8.1 beta? I had it before the beta and now it's telling me I have an incompatible device.

Of course. The only way now is to lock the bootloader or download from apk mirror. In the future, passing safetynet with a custom kernel or Magisk/autohide will work

Interesting. Didn't think the bootloader would affect it. Once we can get safetynet, I'll unlock again.

I'm running a custom kernel that passes safetynet on 8.0. The easiest way is to download Netflix from Apk mirror. That way you can stay unlocked

You can download the APK directly from Netflix website in the help section.

Thats funny. They won't let you do it from the play store, but they give you the workaround right from their website. Lol
I haven't had any issues with Netflix.

[APP] Mediaset Infinity APK (Android TV version) on FireTV

Hi, I just want to share the latest version of Infinity for Android tv, since it is impossible to find everywhere else, that can be easily installed on our fire tv, now that the Fire tv stick gen 2 is finally available in italy.
The app can be used with the remote as well, only the login page is a little a pain because the keyboard can't be controlled from the fire tv app on the smartphone
thanks to @DavyA
Latest version here:
Infinity v1.1.1 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Szk87EeNh_K2QL6qFSw1mcCO2ncQOt4c/view?usp=drivesdk

I got the update just now. On two different devices.
I got one manually too.
Just follow the steps.
1. Download firmware finder app from play store.
2. Allow the necessary permissions.
3. It will show you the latest update dated 30.4.2018.
4. Click on it.
5. Get it through DNS.
6. Allow the VPN connection.
7. Go to system update and check.
8. Once the update is detectedz terminate the VPN connection and download the update and you are good to go.

Oh yeah. I forgot I was replying to the Indian variant. I'm in the US lol. I don't know what's taking so long or why there's not an approved one on firmware finder for us. It's the same exact thing from 4.30 but is unverified.
I just flashed the oreo beta then the stable update for l-24 and relocked the bootloader and im enjoying the stable

Question will we ever see an 11.2.8.8 Zip?

I've been scouring XDA, google, oneplus forums, and oxygen updater.
I'm not seeing an update anywhere. Oxygen Updater says i'm up to date (i'm not)
what the heck?
I grabbed EU one from Oxygen Updater, Indian one is on there too, looks like it's just NA missing
Thats why i switched from tmobile rom to EU.
I'm on an LE2125... factory unlocked. What the heck.
OnePlus / Google will release the full zip if and when they feel like it for AA, and there is a very high chance you won't get it. If you want a full zip always available go with BA or DA.

Been like this since the 8T at least, when OnePlus use Google Update servers instead for incremental.

Well, if you want up-to-date full zips, go with BA. Otherwise, make the preparations needed for incremental OTA.
DA has been working phenomenally for me. I'm in the US.
I have been using the EU firmware.
It works flawless on Verizon.

I was running into the same issue. I resolved it by downloading the AA incremental posted on the guide thread and moving it into the root and manually updating. Otherwise I was getting errors. How bizarre.
