Hello, I have a Mi A2 Lite with Android Pie (February update), I just wanted to ask which ROM has the best battery life for daisy, I prefer battery over performance.
I had a phone in which it's battery was great with Android KitKat but sucked on Lollipop (performance of the device was also worse)
Is this the case for the Mi A2 Lite? Is better to just use Oreo? Or another custom ROM? Thank you!.
Stock Oreo will be best battery life, easily 2 days worth of battery backup easily, unless you do heavy gaming
Ofc, u can always root to underclock to get more battery out
Since it is an Android one phone, stock firmware is always preferable. I would not say the same if it was Samsung phone though
Thanks for both answers! I will stick to Android One then, however Oreo has external storage app bugged so I can't use my SD Card... I'm stuck on Pie then (tried the ROM).
I hope Android Q can bring the battery life of Oreo with Pie "improvements".

I was considering doing that, I wanted to disable 4 cores and downclock to 1.2GHz, but I'm not sure on how to do it, I think I need a custom kernel, but aside of that I don't know what else I need, would you mind telling me what app or what is what I need to undervolt? Thanks in advance!.
Trie greenify without root, i get 7 hrs of SOT 2 days standby on Pie stock februari
I found those two apps, Naptime and ForceDoze, I think I get better results on ForceDoze, but Naptime you can get from the Play Store. It puts the device in the deep sleep right after the screen is off.
Oh OK! Thank you, will try greenify (however I have root, so I don't mind using with root functions) and ForceDoze! I will wait for a answer in undervolting and underclocking the CPU but I will do that for now. I remember that there was another app that was a xposed module called Amplify but I ended up breaking many things of my old phone with that, so I think that I will not use it for now.

I have no scientific evidence, but generally when running a custom ROM I get better battery life for a bit, but eventually google takes over and ruins battery life. I use a iphone 6 for work which I despise using, but the standby on that thing is fantastic without doing anything. My iphone 6 if I don't use it, which i rarely do lasts three days. I can go a full day of work without touching my Samsung s6 and by the time I go home 30% left, when I look at stats, google is the main battery drain, my guess is the metal building I am in blocks location, but turning it off has no effect.
My standby is pretty amazing on stock, but what drains battery for me is if I turn screen on and off too much when checking active conversations on facebook/text, I think it keeps it awake pretty much the whole time, since it's not allowed to go into a deep sleep..
If I put custom, can I come back to stock after, or I gonna trip Knox and never gonna be able to use Samsung pay?
Please tell me which rom is overall gud for oneplus 3. Checking all the rom ia not possible for me it takes lot of time and i m really disappointed form oxygen os 4.0.3 it drain lots of battery please suggest me a rom with good battery life and performance i dont care much about customization
Iam afraid there is really nothing that can help you (or others like me..). I have tried allot of ROMS and they all result in somewhat the same result.
1 charge 1 day (or almost 1 day) Does not matter if i use custom kernel battery improvement tools or "special" tips and tricks at the end of the afternoon iam still running low. I know i use my phone ALLOT and i use allot of connectivity (WIFI, 3/4G, BT) that is properly the issue, but still its sad that the only thing that might help is buying the oneplus3T.

If you want to stick to MM then go for Sultan's CM & if you want to upgrade to N then go for Resurrection Remix. Both ROM's stock kernels have new good battery life but in the camera part they are out numbered. Sultanxda has done best job by optimising the inbuilt camera app at par with stock OOS & also he gives security patch updates too as soon as they are released.
Resurrection Remix on other hand works great with Android N but has buggy camera due to buggy camera on LOS & we know that till now OnePlus has not released blobs so can't do anything.
All this is my personal preference. You can try out both our any other ROM's from development section like Cypheros or AOSP extended which are AOSP & LOS based or for for Freedom OS or Experience ROM which are OOS based.
I have around 7h SOT with latest freedomOS and bluspark kernel. In my eyes thats pretty good and carries me easily through the day. And light use even 2 days.
If you have any heavy battery drain you should search for the reason. Check wakelocks and logcat too find out whats wrong.

Try VertexOS.. You wont feel a stutter and I'm not joking.. Als it scales way more efficient because of EAS. It delivers a near stock experience

Well it has EAS.. Which means that the CPU can be really tamed.. Battery depends on standby but in my usage pattern I can easily get 4 hours SOT. I get an average drain of 13% per hour.

Hi, could you please direct me to some more information about this EAS feature?
Hi,
as the title suggests this smartphone is currently my top pick, i have a tight budget (120 euros/140 dollars); and the Le pro 3 sits comfortably at 116 euros shipped.
Would you recommend it? I have zero experience with modding but i'd like to learn; are the chanches of hard bricking it (x722) high? I would not be able to replace it for while.
Thanks!
At this price you can't get any better.
A few phones at this range might have a bet camera and the official support is almost non-existent, but it's beautiful, well-constructed, has good battery, a good community and it's super fast and smooth. Is runs everything without lags and the processor is equivalent with the ones of iPhone 6s Plus and Samsung Galaxy S7, 300€/400€ phones.
There are currently 13 Oreo ROMS for it and will surely be more, P included.
As long as you flash files compatible with x722, you will not brick it.
Normally, it costs 150€, so run for it. NOW!
P.S. I think you posted in the wrong place, maybe you can ask a moderator to move the topic.

My bad, i thought this was the right section, sorry.
It still worth it AS A FLAGSHIP.
why should be worth? you have a "OnePlus3" inside as hardware.
The right place would have been the questions and answers section.
Just make sure you use the ROMs for the x722 some are universal some are not if you stick with the le pro 3 elite x722 development section you'll be pretty safe as long as you're careful and read everything in the first post you should be OK just make sure and do a full backup in twrp and copy it to your PC in case of problems. If your unsure about something don't do it till you're certain you understand the guide. Good luck
Yes and no.
If you want a phone that just works then get something else. Yeah, the Le Pro 3 has better looks and internals than other phones but the software is never perfect.
Currently all Oreo Roms drain the battery pretty fast, battery life is still good but not outstanding anymore. Also there are always some other minor issues like a wonky signal, app crashes as so forth.
The Redmi Note 4 or Mi A1 are the obvious other choice. You're getting a more "stable" package but the phones don't feel as premium, the RN4 also has worse camera.

Ah ... bullcrap. What does it mean "Oreo..drain the battery pretty fast"?
In technical terms, I charge the battery in the range 20-85%, and this delta of 65% = 2,645 mAh.
That charge lasts me a week (my Nokia E71 would not last that long).
Standby discharge + some usage = avg. 0.5%/hr (20mA/hr), airplane mode overnite = 0.1%/hr (4 mA/hr)
Maybe A1 with Nougat lasts longer with smaller battery, than X72x with Oreo...
And the RN4? To beg the commies for letting me to unlock my phone?
Really?
At this moment, the X722s (X720s long gone) are disappearing from the [Chinese] warehouses, ergo the price went over $200,
but if one doesn't have to pay any duties/taxes ... it is still a bargain for this 2 years old phone. https://tinyurl.com/ydamcw9y

Don't worry, the phone is fine. The battery still lasts quite long but I haven't gotten 9h screen on time on any Oreo ROM anymore. Things are constantly improving, you just need to spend a little time to reading the forums and flashing a new ROM now and then.

Oc kernel is not included. You can find it on dev sections.
Before Oreo update battery life was pretty decent. I had gotten 3 - 4 hours of SOT.
Now I upgraded to Oreo and I get at best 2 hours.
I have tried everything; multiples recalibrating methods posted here, Installing greenify, amplify, and many more however nothing have changed.
Accu battery says that the mAh capacity it's around
1750 mAh which is insane for a 2 years phone.
It is worth mentioning that my phone was originally the T-Mobile version, but I followed some post here to be able to convert it to the unlock version.

Oreo battery life is worse than Nougat for everyone, and your battery capacity is down to almost half of what it used to be. So there is nothing you can do, short of downgrading back to Nougat
Actually, when I test accubattery on RR ROM its says that I have about 2659 mAh, so I supposed is some kind of corrupted file.
Battery Is rubbish, could just be the battery
The battery life becomes horrible because of a couple factors. They can all be fixed. But require some work.
1. Replace your battery in the phone or get it replaced.
2. Root your phone install custom ROM (I use leedroid). Also make sure install elemental X or cleanslate.
3. Use alderon666 CPU profile with elementalx app. Also disable touch boost. Delete htc pnp stuff see in other post about profile tweaks.
4. Download Xposed installer and install sdk 26
5. Install amplify (Best app ever). Limit wakelocks and alarms.
I am able to get 5:45 minutes with my phone on Oreo without lag or stutter. I am adjusting further to get 6 hours maybe. But 5:45 is good for me. I've seen better but don't need much better.
Hi, just to share my experience with Android O and Lineage 15.1 on my HTC 10:
With the official Android O update, battery lifetime was not too bad. Not as great as my previous G2, but good enought: I could end a day with around 50% remaining battery.
With Lineage 15.1, battery life got much worse. My battery was depleting to 10% at the end of the day. Even with Greenify, forcing doze, and underclocking, the phone was barely making it. Some system process was constantly consuming the battery, even when the screen was off (com.android.webview:sandboxed_process0 or android.chrome:sandboxed process or something like that; I haven't taken a screenshot, I cannot be sure which one was the top consumer).
What solved it: changing the launcher. Ditching the default Google Now launcher and replacing it with Nova fixed it. Now I'm back to a phone that lasts 2 days. \o/
Hello,
The battery of my OnePlus 3 has to be fully charged to survive a day. I want to keep my phone as performance, camera and display are still fine and new phones have so many downsides somehow (no headphone jack, weird notch situation, high SAR values, oversized,..).
What are my options to extend the battery life?
- replace the battery with a OnePlus 3T battery?
- which custom kernel or custom rom do you suggest?
- other suggestions?
Currently i am on the Pie community beta. Battery life has gotten worse when i updated, i can tell you that. My personal preference for the next OS would be a privacy-focused OS.

Have a go at the skydragon ROM it's normally very good with battery but for more privacy focused you'd have to flash lineage with no gapps and use alternatives from f-droid or yalp store for things like playstore and messaging etc...

@orawnnd
I wouldn't advise a 3T battery. It may create issues. In addition, the 3 and 3T batteries were likely manufactured a couple of years back and sitting on the shelf all this time. So they may deteriorate fast. Still a better option than going for 3rd party batteries.
Regarding ROMs, the OOS Pie Open Beta has been excellent in all respects, including battery drain, for me. May be a clean flash and not restoring apps will make a difference for you.
As for SkyDragon, I was using it for sometime and it was also excellent in all respects. But, of late, there are complaints of unexplained battery drain in its thread, not for all but atleast for some. I have not tested LOS in my OP3 though I run it in my N4. Again excellent results.

This is true. Settled on LOS after trying all other roms, they had explainable battery drain issues with time. Even tho, I don't see a plus in battery saving on LOS. Battery performance is "OKAY". LOS is just smoother.
IMHO stock is the best for battery. :good:
I recommend you install accubattery from the play store( free app) and check your battery health before you decide on a battery change. It also lets you see how much the battery has degraded over time. My OnePlus 3 is currently at 86% life

1. Replacing OP3 with OP3T battery won't work. This is debunked already - don't try it.
2. Sadly your only options:
a) Replace battery with new one.
b) Flash custom ROM onto your phone. Read comments about latest build on every ROM thread - people point out things like battery life etc. e.g. SkyDragon latest build seems to have battery issues (people reporting it in comments).
c) Power bank. Really. Things like this is also an option, but I don't see any on ebay for OP3.

I'm on official pie rom from OnePlus.
Have you got anything important on the device
use any custom kernel that supports cpu frequency changing. Underclock cpu to 60%(bit cluster have huge impact on battery) when you dont heavily use your op3/t . You will notice significant battery improvement.
