cool sar :v
Thanks for the new ROM :good:
Some findings, while testing:
- 'adbd cannot run as root in production builds'
- No signature spoofing
- OpenCamera: green images; flash out of synch (working with torch); video working in Camera API
- No keyboard (patch available)
- 'Messages app stopped working' (once)
- 'Phone keeps stopping' (once)
- No browser pre-installed
- No APNs pre-configured
Very good to see that there are people bringing new works, it is unfortunate that Athene has so much headache, I think it was the most problematic device I have ever had ... but anyway I have been using the stock 8.1 and I am quite satisfied, well, and as you would expect 0% Bug.

You young man, you've hurt me because I said that the Athene is troublesome, that's crazy! it is the "my" device and my experience of use, my disappointment with this device, you should not manifest. But if it makes you happy, "there are no 100% functional roms for this device, neither 8.1 nor 9.0, all with bug, so I use the Stock." Improved?

Dude I get your reasons for using stock. I'm just saying that you don't have to tell that on a thread for Viper OS. You can always go to Real Life Review and say it there. No more OT, I'm sorry Ragul.
Great ROM. So far i'm using Viper.
We are waiting for a new update.

Don't judge the developer's work if you can't build itself. Just use RR if you love it.

Hmmm, btw is it using the bytsyco Layers manager or projekt Substratum (as layer is officially deprecated)? thanks in advance, will test the rom soon.

I don't care if you build ROMs or not. People need to start reading the XDA rules. Don't come here disrespecting peoples work. If you don't like it just move on everyone has different preferences in ROMs. Just keep flashing til you find the one that you like.
That being said let's get back on topic.
Awesome work devs keep up the good hard work

Just like Boys crave for sexy girls, and real Men care about the, inner being/true love, in their dream partner. Even tho I don't find wisdom in replying to your point of view, I'd like to tell u that most users care about the performance and efficiency of the rom and not merely the looks or so called customizations that you're referring to.
Conclusion :- Your liking of the ROM may not be good. But that doesn't mean that you can call somebody's work as bad. Simple as that
Btw what customization features of RR did u miss here? (A feature request would be rather be beneficial than calling the rom as simply bad)

It is a bug which comes up , randomly.
This is just a pre-release build. The updates will next resume as official builds once the ROM is released beyond the pre-release phase

Which firmware required?
Sorry for the multiple posts, kept getting errors and didn't know one made it through.
1. Minimum required firmware is 5.1.1
2. You must be decrypted to use, since I don't support encrypted right now.
Use it or don't use it. Doesn't make a difference to me. People requested that I bring these back to XDA, and that's what I'm doing. I deal mostly on G+ and Telegram these days so.... Yeah.

Double tap can be enabled with "kernel audiutor" (or I guess other apps of the same kind)
For AOD, nothing to it if it's not in the ROM.

This is a user friendly thread. Please be respectful and courteous to other users. While feature requests will be considered, AquariOS tries to maintain a ROM that is smooth and stable, so adding every feature under the sun is not the plan here.
CURRENT BUILDS ARE BETA!1. Unless I tell you otherwise, you MUST always, absolutely, positively, most certainly wipe data AND system before flashing AquariOS...without a doubt!

Q & A
Read this before telling everyone something is broken!
1. Android Pay isn't working!! What do I do?
Go into Magisk settings and toggle on the "Hide Magisk" option. Then try again. Also, I've found once in a great while, even with this enabled, it will say it failed - if this happens, just try again...it'll work.
2. It's bootlooping after flashing ROM with Magisk - now what?
Don't flash Magisk until you have already booted into the new AquariOS build at least once. If that wasn't your issue, sometimes Substratum overlays can cause bootloops. If you have anything applied, flash the SubstratumRescue zip from your substratum directory
3. Why is the built-in System Theme section greyed-out (background, accent, & fonts)?
When the Substratum app is installed, this section will become inaccessible in order to prevent conflicts. You CANNOT use them both at once!
Reporting a bug?
See how to do so here:
BEFORE REPORTING A BUG:
1. Flash the SubstratumRescue zip and see if your issue is still there.
2. If you have flashed a custom kernel or ANY OTHER MODs, delete 'data/system/packages_cache' then wipe dalvik/cache, and flash AquariOS again WITHOUT any additional modifications/custom kernel.
3. Check to see if your issue persists.
*Do NOT even bother reporting an issue if you have dirty-flashed AquariOS over some other ROM! We WILL be able to tell!
Logs are crucial to resolving almost any kind of issue. You need to provide a log in order for the issue to be addressed. Please also include info on how to reproduce the reported bug if possible (maybe even take a screen recording for us ).
If you need a log extracting app, try out CatLog!
Either save your log locally and share it, or paste your log into an online code sharing tool like hastebin.com - then share the URL after hitting the SAVE icon.

I have been running this rom since release with magisk installed and I have no problems with the wifi not connecting. I have not experienced any major problems yet .
So I was having a problem with WiFi as well. I installed the latest Flash kernel, then Magisk 17.2, everything is working now.

Odd, the ONLY problem I've had with this rom is apn settings are not customizable. I have the settings on my phone for my provider. But they are unable to be edited. Even with third party apps.
And one minor reboot.
But the wifi doesn't have that issue for me.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77846322&postcount=41
and you being on a different kernel might fix it for you.
for me wifi is connecting randomly and works until disconnected, then have to wait on magic moment to occur again. Ex/flash kernel + magisk 17.2
everything else works fine.
only thing needed is more quick setting tiles (sound, caffeine, nfc etc.) and double tab navbar for screen off option if possible

it has google cam already instaled. if not just sideload the apk or download from Play Store.
Thanks! This is a solid Beta. Flashing took a few tries and I had to flash the Factory Pie images first but I have everything functional now. Looking forward to seeing more options in the "Coral Reef" settings.

Descendant is a customised Android that aims to add useful tweaks over Android 9.
We didn't fill the system with tons of features. We think less is more.

Flash in TWRP (don't flash gapps unless you want bugs -- pixel gapps are included)
Flash twrp zip and/or magisk if desired.
Reboot and enjoy
I actually can't list all the additions.
It would be a huge wall of text, that every user would probably not even read.

No, but it's included with a big thanks to his work.
Edit: if anyone has issues with calendar sync, open up Google calendar (not aosp calendar), and then syncing will work. This will be fixed in the next release.
4.0.0 uploaded. Synced with new security patch and 4.9.187, along with the following awesome work by dil3mm4 and team:
Improved Brightness Bar behaviour.
Improved overall Quick Status Bar Header looks.
Improved notification responsiveness in Notification Panel.
Introduced Blur in notification panel.
Introduced new activity animations.
Introduced Keyguard affordance option under
Settings -> Security -> Lockscreen preferences.
Introduced special captive portal servers for chinese userbase.
Aggressive battery has been improved.
UI is now more aware of devices with rounded corner.
Introduced Settings restyling.
Full Italian translations.
Introduced linking/unlinking ringer volume and notfication under:
Settings -> Sound .
Fixed an issue that was preventing Scramble PIN feature to work.
New 4.0.0 build uploaded -- first build I forgot a change for the new security patch and broke safetynet CTS.
Does call screening have any problems with this rom? Also, can you make the brightness slider on the notification dropdown disappear?
Okay super confused as to why even after disabling vibration for plug/unplug I'm still getting vibrations. This is pretty annoying because i use ACC and when it cycles 90s on, 10s, i get the buzz every single time.

No, call screening is working here. No way to remove it and probably won't be a way.

You're right, I'll figure it out.
You can have an option to remove the brightness slider on the dropdown,,,most roms do this. Love the rom though!

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. black screen after system configuration
Coning from 9.0.9 stock, did a factory reset via twrp-3.3.1-20190908-0-codeworkx-signed-forcedecrypt-cheeseburger and with twrp-3.3.1-x_blu_spark_v9.101_treble-op5_op5t, installed OnePlus5Oxygen_23_OTA_052_all_1910082005_adf7221fba833a0 , the flashed rom CARBON-CR-8.0-PAX-UNOFFICIAL-cheeseburger-20191123-1036 and open_gapps-arm64-10.0-stock-20190928-BETA. System configuration starts, going thorugh the options then black screen. Only clock in up-right corner and power options, nothing else. I suppose launcher fails to start completely. Any suggestions?

:good:Thanks for the quick reply!!! The suggested worked and already restored my apps and started to test!! So glad to finally be back on Carbon after so long time (for me) !!! :good:
PS: Just as a feedback, I think it might be something else as I've tought about the launcher problem, and although I've tried previously with latest 9.0.9 from OnePlus website and used Gapps Aroma to remove everything related to launcher in the packages and managed to install, configuration died at the beginning and the built-in launcher worked, but then the setup kept going back to it when tried to set un my google accound and do black screeen during "installing updates" exactly as with previous options and not pass it to setting up my account details. So although I've got all Google apps I wanted AND the built in Launcher worked, I couldn't move forward towards setting up my G account... Still, would like to enjoy an Aroma Gapps install and have latest Gapps content loaded directly if possible in the future. Should you want me to test other options, I'm happy to do a backup and run whatever other combinations on my device for you.

Awesome work mate.
Couple of questions for my knowledge:
1. How does WiFi need country code? I thought that was limited to RIL!
2. SS QS tile, back after a long time on OP5 ROM. I recall last I had seen was on crDroid in Oreo. Maybe others too may have done it, but the ones I have used earlier, I had last seen on crDroid. Can you direct me to the commit please?
3. Would this also mean, a CPU/GPU/Battery can be added to QS Tile?
4. This is a very cool feature, as it helps to determine if it needs to cool down, and whether battery sensor is working fine or not. Cut-Off level.
Please, wheres deep sleep info?
