I've seen other variants of this G7 being rooted or not being able to be rooted I still cannot find anything on the VM version of this phone forwarding is there a write-up on this somewhere or is it not possible?

I assume you mean the D850 since D955 is the original G flex and you should never ever ever even think about flashing a ROM from that phone to this one as they are completely and absolutely different. Also, call forwarding is buggy across all Lollipop ROMs as of now so an AT&T ROM won't fix that. Also, its never really a good idea to flash a ROM for a different variant that's not intended for your device without checking out what partitions its gonna touch first.

Need help with bypassing bootloader unlock (EE) UK

Gone through the LG dev site, put in IMEI and Device ID, message pops up saying
the page at developer.lge.com says:
Unfortunately, your device (EE,UK) does not support unlocking the bootloader.
Is there a way around this, I would like to root my phone...and this whole "hold" over my android device isn't good at all.
EDIT, Sorry, i've got the LG G4 which is the phone in question, not the LG G3 as stated in my Sig.

I have the UK (EUR) version too from CPW on EE but was able to unlock. What's your software version under About Phone --> Software Info ?
Mine is V10c-EUR-XX

It's official - there are a billion frickin versions of the LG G4 software out there and we don't stand a chance.
Sorry you can't unlock. Check the root thread for that.

Ouch... you serious?? nothing at all.. That's actually s**t.
Surely you'd be able to root using the method in the root thread? I'd hope so as I'm getting this phone on EE in a couple of weeks and was hoping it would be possible

Should be able to root using the method in the root thread with no issues.
As far as getting a G4 on EE, go via CarphoneWarehouse as you get a Euro unlocked device and not an EE branded device.

The low effort root method in G4 Original Android Development.
Do not try to absolve me by some quirk of quantum mechanics.

Dam that's a *****. I'm wondering if you could flash the KDZ of the EURO unlocked device and convert it from an EE device to an unlocked one. I know this used to be possible with Samsung device, this is my first LG (apart from a Nexus) so not fully up to speed on these things yet. May be worth investigating though.

Ok found that,
right.... How on earth can I tell what version mine is?
does this low level root actually bypass the "not being able to unlock bootloader" ??
Sorry for all the questions, I have read up...just a bit cautious this time around.... never had this much trouble with rooting a device before.

Yes it doesn't require the Bootloader being unlocked, tbh most questions you have will be answered in that forum, read through the first two posts. All images are there and how to find the right ones.

If your worried about not picking the right version, then I would avoid proceeding with that method. As if it isn't one of the version in the OP, you need to change the commands too. Post a screenshot of your Software Info screen and I'll point you in the right direction.
But you need to read through both those posts before proceeding to understand what your doing.

As far as I can tell, you only have a carrier specific version of software and no actual hardware differences from H815 itself, which makes sense EE just using their own software (like the twats they are). This being the case you should be able to proceed with flashing the H815-10c image and gain root, this may also mean you can unlock the bootloader.
If the worst happens and you can't boot, you can just use a kdz image to revert to stock following the guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
You can gain a stock KDZ with this url, replace 'YOURIMEIHERE' with your imei number:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=YOURIMEIHERE

LG G4 begging for root & some other info

I have done some searching, and it seems I already have my answer to root, but I will ask anyways as nearly all threads are at least a year old.
I have an LG G4 LS991 running Android 6.0, Hardware version 1.0, provider SPR. It seems I do not have, and likely will not ever have root, but has anyone come across any way to achieve this?
Also, I have an update that I need to know if it is worth running, or if I should delete it, in hopes of root. If deletion is the answer, how do I go about doing this?

How can i remove the international calling +1 from all incoming calls?

I have verizon s8+ on AT&T
Everything works good but for some reason all my incoming calls have +1 in front of it and makes it look like an international call.
I cant call it right back from the call log or send a text message either because it has the number stated as INTL call.
I already went into settings, then removed assisted dialing but I still keep getting this issue
Anyone have an idea how to fix this ?
Also is it possible to install the AT&T firmware on the verizon version without bricking the phone ?
TIA

On the thread you linked I saw/ready many post with issues so I decided to just use odin and Flash the stock AT&T files.
Once everything flashed it booted up fine but the Verizon firmware remained. All Verizon apps etc.
Any other way to get AT&T firmware on this phone ?
I found a complete tutorial on how to do what you want. So it's out there.

Can't update AT&T G8

I recently bought an AT&T G8 on eBay and no matter what I try, I can't update it. It's still on the factory update. I've had an activated AT&T SIM in it for several days, tried using other SIMs, factory resetting a few times, but I still get the same error that says it can't update or there's just no update. I've tried calling tech support there and going into a store, but they were out of ideas too. Does anyone have a link to any update to try installing or any ideas for how to get it to update?

That's my understanding as well. I'm getting the run around from at&t, cricket, and LG with them pointing the finger at each other playing the blame game. Seriously annoying... The G8 is a beast but if it's like this I might just stick with my pixel 3a. I appreciate the info though from everyone.

That's the us open
so has anyone flashed this firmware manually via LGUP to their AT&T g8 and was successful? does everything get wiped?
So I've bought a couple of these att LG g8. The problem was that I am on cricket so no updates. This has been a fool proof way I've found to get the updates moving.
I put in an activated (I didn't add any money to my att account) att sim, 10 bucks from Walmart. I issue a factory reset and skip all setup (except connecting to WiFi). Check update as soon as I am through setup. If it works great ,if not repeat. It's worked on 3 phones so far.
