Hi,
I'm thinking about changing a boot splash: fastboot flash splash. Will it break OTA updates and will it remove unlocked bootloader warning?
Kind regards,
Germans.
I don't know, but this post is in wrong section, post it in Q&A Section

Hello,
I bought a branded HTC Desire.
I already rooted device and also changed ROM with LeeDroid 2.1.
But I can't find the right way to remove Brand logo at boot (just after power on, and before recovery).
Can someone help me?
You cant.
Not yet anyway. We need system access to change the innitial boot anim, but thats all being worked on.

I read someone successfully did it. But I can't understood how...
If I use some RUU shipped?

Are you sure that the boot animation is stored on /system? Because that partition acutally _IS_ writable from recovery.
As the HTC RUUs normally also flash a new HBOOT, flashing a branding-free 2.1 RUU should be enough to remove the boot animation. However, you'll have to backup your data first (nandroid), as the RUU will perform a factory reset, reroot after having run the RUU and then restoring the nandroid backup you did.
btw, I think you should have placed this post in the Desire Q&A section of this board. The Android Development section is mainly intended for ROM development and hacking threads.
The branding logo is easily removed, so long as you don't mind the HTC logo instead. Just flash a generic RUU.
HBOOT seems to be listed as the reason for everything, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the splash screen.
Thread reported.
Don't post your questions in the development section!
Please post in Q&A or General.
The level of Noobs in the dev section is unacceptable, the senior mods have enough to do without constantly moving posts.
Thank You,

Sorry... people are right.
Please mod move my thread.... next time I'll pay more attention
Hello,
I am new to this things, so please excuse me if my question is just stupid.
I am trying to do a root first time on my HTC desire HD. I think I have done it succesfully. Then I have installed clockwork mode, succesfully too. But then, when I install custom ROM my phone is unable to boot it. It stuck with HTC logo on display. I have tried few ROMs but unseccesfully.
I done it by combination of few different manuals. First UNLOCK through hcdev.com, then root and install clockwork mod through AAHK. When I turn on my phone to recovery menu, it says: UNLOCKED and S-ON. I think this is is the problem. I am trying to gogle it, for 3 days now, but I can't fix it. I can't find any manual how to do S-OFF without bootable phone.
I am trying for 3 days, and it's really bad idea to be without phone... Please HELP me!
Sorry for my mistakes.
You need to extract the boot.img from the ROM and fastboot flash it. The Ace Think Tank thread's guide (in DHD General forums) has instructions.

my problem is i got my 4.16.401.13 update come through a few weeks ago for my htc one m8, and every time i install it i get stuck on the white htc one boot up screen, then have to go back to the previous firmware.
i am not rooted but do have a unlocked boot loader, super cid and s off, I've updated like previously and it hasn't been the problem not sure if this is causing it or not, btw i did use TWRP to restore the previous build.

This is the General thread. Ask in the One M9 Q&A, Help, and Troubleshooting forum. Make sure that you go into download mode or bootloader mode, do "fastboot getvar all", and include that in your post around code tags.
