Dual Sim & problem with second SIM - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi everyone, I've been experiencing problems with using dual-sim for some days now. It often happens that he loses the connection with the telephone network of the second SIM and those who try to call are diverted to the answering machine. It has been happening for a couple of days but I am not getting updates and before it was fine. Any ideas suggestion?

Intermitant Calls, out and in

Hi,
Just started with a problem with the defy not ringin out first time and now incoming calls are just as bad with people going to voicemail after they hear nothing for a few seconds no ringing just straight to voicemail.
Then it will ring in and out a few times then play up. The rest of the phones ok
Its a unbranded model all i have done is root and it updated itself to firmware 2.1 update.
seemed to be working great till a day or two ago. Have wiped and rebooted but its just the same.
On Vodafone and the sim works fine in other phones without problem.
Cheers Dave
You may be in poor 2g/3g signal zone.
I have the same isue in france with SFR provider (French Vodafone) it is a known issue here.
the problem is the same with all brand phone I've tried in the same area
Just force 2g on your phone and in/out call works fine

[Q] No Signal issue

HI All,
I have a desire 2.2, sim free.
Its has been working fine for a few months but all of a sudden the signal has gone and "no signal, Emergency calls only" appears.
I am on vodafone and tested the sim card on another device and it was fine! I have also tried other sim cards (same and different network) and they also get the issue.
I have reset the phone back to factory and this fixes it for a few days but then the issue returns.
I have logged a job with HTC but wondered if anyone else had the issue and managed to resolve it?
Cheers,
Mark
(no unusual software has been installed and it happens on the default build)

A colleague had the same problem. In the end Vodafone replaced the handset.

Nexus loses Vodafone UK connection...

All
I took delivery of my new SIM free Galaxy Nexus today. Everything appeared to be going well until I tried to make a couple of calls. The call would either connect for three seconds and then drop or drop immediately. After dropping the call the handset indicates that it has no connection to a network. It will also drop any incoming calls and then I lose the connection to Vodafone.
To reconnect to Vodafone I either have to turn airplane mode on then off again or reboot the phone.
When it has the VF connection in the connection status page I see this;
Network - Vodafone Uk
Signal Strength - -95 dBm 9 asu
Mobile Network Type - HSDPA:9
Mobile Network State -Connected
After attempting to make or receive a call;
Network - Unknown
Signal Strength - -113 dBM 0 asu
Mobile Network Type - Unknown:0
Mobile Network State - Disconnected
I called Vodafone and they are sending me a new SIM (I've had this one for many years now). The current old SIM works fine in my old Desire.
Anyone else have these issues or have any advice? Is this a handset issue, SIM or could it be a problem with the VF network?
Ah someone else with this issue! I thought it was just me. I find that the vodafone connection drops and won't reconnect - particularly when I'm driving along. Sometimes it's fine for hours and others it just never returns.
I'd be very be very interested to here if a new SIM fixes the issue, as I too have had this sim for a very long time.
I love the device, but if it doesn't function as a phone I'm seriously considering either changing networks or returning the phone (which I got from phones4u).
My old sim works fine in my nexus S (which my wife has taken over and probably won't give back!)
I am still waiting for the volume bug fix which appears to have a new GSM binary, that may help the issue (or not) - otherwise its a call to phones4u to get me moved networks!
I got the volume fix when I powered up the phone today but that hasn't sorted it. Im off to a mates house now to try his SIM otherwise I may have to send the phone back.
I've posted this up on the Vodafone forum too -> http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Goog...-Signal-3-seconds-into-call/m-p/943023#M12291
Just to update - tried with a mates Vodafone UK sim and it worked fine so its looking like my old school SIM needs to be updated...
Just been to a vodafone shop and got a new sim. Made three consecutive calls. A record. New sim seems to fix it!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
I'm on T-Mobile in the US and seem to have this same problem. I had my G2 and G1 with this SIM and never had an issue, but brought it to the Galaxy Nexus and randomly I lose connection and it won't reconnect until I reboot.
Anyone else see this issue?
I had a similar issue with an O2 sim on an SGS2. Replacing the SIM worked for me, though it was only 2 years old. I suppose its inevitable SIMs will fail.
Unfortunately, I got a new SIM card last night and put it in. But it just happened again today. Anyone have any ideas?
Currently I'm using Android Revolution 1.3.1 and Kernel 3.0.1-ga052f63.

Network drops

In 4.4.3 kitkat the network is fine... But when I upgraded to lollipop (5.0.2,5.1) Im facing some weird problems that some network goesoff and again automatically it's back aftersometime...I have replaced with new sim card though the problem still occurs but the simcard is working fine in other phones.... And mainly this problem only comes with "idea network" remaining all networks r working fine in my phone
I had the same problem. When I used:
Sim 1 -> GSM only for phone calls
Sim 2-> WCDMA for calls and internet
The problem occurs while placing a phone call. I hear a beep during the call and both networks are restarted leading to a drop in the call and 5 seconds until the networks are back.
I swapped the roms in terms of connectivity and switched my data plan to the other sim card, so:
SIM 1: WCDMA for calls and internet
SIM 2: GSM only for calls.
Now it is working perfectly fine.
To me, it seems to be a bug in the firmware that it triggered by some networks while on the dual mode.
Hope this helps you,
Good luck

S20 Ultra Exynos missing calls intermittently

So I have used my S20 Ultra since March this year.
I've noticed that the cellular network just "sleeps" and doesn't receive calls/SMSes after some time of phone idling/usage on WiFi.
I tried googling and found many other users reporting similar issues, noticing also that it seems majority if not all are Exynos variant users (not based in US).
Personally, this is definitely not a telco provider issue as I have had this issue on my old SIM (which was working fine on my old phone) and new SIM that I recently got after switching providers to see if the issue went away.
For me, sometimes the calls come in a few minutes late, and then the phone rings but when picking up, the call just gets stuck because the other party is no longer calling.
This is particularly noticeable as due to mostly staying home during COVID-19.
Toggling flight mode to "wake" the cellular network makes the phone be able to receive calls again.

Lucky me. Didn't have this problem on my s20+ exynos

I also have this issue (S20+ exynos, dual sim). I use wifi at home/work and I had several missed calls and delayed text messages during this time.
Now I turned on the text alerts about the missed calls. At least when my phone connects again to the network I get these notifications.
I am also having this issue. People call and it rings out at their end but not at my end. Is there any fix?
Try switching the active number to slot 2. I tried it for a couple of days and I think it was better. I have switched back to slot 1 to monitor as I just got the ATE6 update and wanna see if it changed anything.
I had this issue and figured out what was causing it. You need to disable VoLTE if you are not registered to use this service on your carrier's network.

My sim cards are already registered to use VoLTE, my carrier notified me a few months ago about it.
I tried to disable VoLTE on both sim cards. It was OK for 2 weeks until now.
I got a new missed call notification text message and after 5 minutes a message from the caller.
Now I enabled VoLTE again for one sim card. Let's see if there will be more missed calls with this setting.
