Hello all- I am in the market for a new mobile and the P6 is carried by my local carrier and played with it today and must say I love it.
My only very small gripe is with the navigation bar on the bottom of the screen, I am not crazy about it but it is a minor issue, anyway I have seen photos of the P6 and some have the navigation bar and some do not !
Is this perhaps a firmware option or is there some way to make it appear/disappear ?
Any information would be appreciated !!!

actually p6 has function to disappear the navi bar by pressing small down arrow located in the corner of navigation bar.You can make it reappear by swiping up from the bottom.

Cheers for your help hanna... I am in the process of selling my E975 and will use the money to get a white P6. The phone is a beauty and I like the fact that you can download themes ala MIUI, etc..

Depends on firmware
It depends on firmware, from about 107 (I think) that little icon is no longer on the navigation bar, I can also confirm this with Firmware version 111.
But if you check this thread and follow it, you can remove the bar at the bottom.

Dear, it does not depend on firmware. This feature is present in all firmwares but is just hidden (dont know the reason )
You can enable it with a little trick, easier method by following this simple procedure in link :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2453926

Ah awesome, I didnt see your new thread. Very cool.
Hi All
I just got the 1+3 and I came from the 1+1 , but I seem to miss something here in the notification area ( pull down - right side - from top)
The option to select battery saving ect. ?! on the 1+1 it was possible to add different tiles to the menu.. ?!
Is there a way to customize this in the 1+3 ?
Thank you for you help !
/Lars

Well that's sad, is there any way to "fix" that other than Rooting- re-romming ?
Sorry my friend. Your best option is to change into a custom ROM.
I had an iPhone for a few years and the pixel brought me back. The progress android has made has been phenomenal but I see a few things missing that used to be here before. Honestly I think I'm overlooking it but who knows.
FYI I have an unlocked bootloader and am running magisk running stock rom and kernel.
1. I used to love my Note 1's navbar with the search and menu button in the navbar. I remember xposed being able to do it but the modules haven't been updated and just cause a bootloop on the pixel. The customnavbar by paphonb doesn't allow you to have the menu button on the bar. Is there a way to make this work with oreo?
2. What happened to the text notifications? I replaced Google's main text app with Textra but I recall there being custom notifications and ringers all being in the contacts app.
3. What happened to changing the apps notification sound? Back then it was really easy to set the sound of the apps but I hardly see that feature.
4. Can you change the lockscreen clock font? I changed my system font and the clock has a question mark where the colon used to be. I know I could find another font but I really like this one.
5. How do you get in and out of the phone quickly? I find myself double tapping on the display and most of the time it works. Is there a better way?
Note: I saw some of these tweaks were on substratum but I couldn't get it to work for me. I tried to use substratum but the themes won't take because I'm on stock or because I don't know what I'm doing. I would like a clean lockscreen or one where I could swipe to the left or right and start recording. I forget the name but there used to be an app that customized the lockscreen.
If anyone could help me figure out Oreo I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you so much for your help!
The font fix is exactly what I needed. I hated that square or question mark for the colon!
The custom nav bar app is the one I was talking about by php. I don't see a way to add the menu button to the nav bar on that app but I'll look and confirm.
I still use my iPhone silicone cases for this phone so the fingerprint won't work. That's disappointing I thought there might be a quicker way.
Thanks though!

It does but it doesn't let you add the menu to the navbar. And it also removes the battery percentage from the status bar for me. I wish it worked because that would be perfect for me with the navbar and customizable sounds [emoji21]

That's fair, but they aren't meant for the pixel phones. Sell them and get a new one with a proper cut out for the fingerprint reader.

So this adds the button that looks like the menu but it doesn't function like the menu at all. It disappears and I think it has to do with the 66 being set as the code. I don't think that's the right code for the menu button to actually work. I took a screenshot.
Either way I'm giving up for now

This phone has a IPS display. So you can't totally hide the notch since you can see the screen lit up up there. Also the notch is pretty big, why would you want to change its shape?

Check my answer again. The youtuber disabled the notch on an AMOLED display. While any android phone you can disable the notch using various methods, on IPS displays you're still going to see the notch. While icons are moved down under the notch area, you also lose display space.

Yes, I want to move icons under notch area. I know I'll lose screen space, but maybe is less annoying than icons disappearing under a point.

Without root you can't. Use that app, or if you don't want to use it, you can find some Magisk modules that can do that for you.
Xiaomi removed the options to hide the notch from the developer menu.

Hi,
First, if this is not the right forum to post this, excuse me.
Now the question, I just received my new S20 + and so far I love everything about the phone, you know it comes from an S7 until it gives up. The problem I have is that, on my previous phone (S7), I was able to changed the font size of my clok, Wi-Fi, LTG antenna symbol and the battery charge percentage indicator, in my new s20 + I can't find where to do this is no option, I spend a whole day, searching on Google looking for a answer that can help resize my icon's in the top bar to make them larger, the actual size is so small that I have to put glasses to see it. Do you guys have any solution to this or help?
Thanks in advance.

I have called "Samsung care", and they told me that, they do not have any solution as right now. They did recognized and mentioned to me that, the preview version had the option to resize font, but for some reason, it was removed from the new version..... go and figure that one out smh..
yeah.. samsung tends to remove features they "think" people do not use.
For me, i still miss the good old samsung camera on the S7 and my note 8 before the oreo update.. where u can zoom in or zoom out by pressing and holding the shutter button (the white circle), and drag it upwards (to zoom in) and drag in downwards to zoom out.
i have no idea why they removed it.. i loved it as i can zoom in or out using only one hand.. new camera app i need to use one hand to hold, another hand to pinch the screen to zoom in..
not to mention some old samsung apps that is very useful, like the snapbizcard.. snap a business card and everything is saved into your contacts, automatically. it was super useful. i tried to transfer the apk from my samsung note 8 to the s20, but the app crashed everytime i want to take a photo of a namecard.

What do you mean "android 10" ? all galaxy s20 are android 10 ! it is the same as screen zoom , higher value give you smaller status bar . i can get 480 but it dose not make any different .
That's weird....i have screen zoom set to lowest and text size to second to lowest and icons are not small at all....check my screenshot
I am trying to make regular icons smaller....they are still to big even with 5x6
