2. Unlock your bootloader(if not yet)
3. Reboot into bootloader
4.

Thanks. :good: Two things users would like to see is the removal of CABL (Content Adaptive Backlight Control), and "Tap to Wake", so would be great if a kernel Dev could make that possible?

The slight change of brightness, it's obviously not a massive issue but it's made more annoying by the fact Sony doesn't allow us to disable it in the menu.

Any chance we can get an update for the .157 rom? I'm currently running the .108 kernel with the .157 rom, but it keeps offering me the same update I can post kernel.sin if needed.
I'd rather not flash DualRecovery - I wonder how other people on unlocked bootloaders upgrade if they don't want to use the towelroot exploit? It seems all guides tell you to use a root exploit, which kinda defeats the purpose of having an unlocked bootloader. But this is off-topic here

Yes + disabled ric service and maybe also init.d script support, i forgot if i added it
Just in case people weren't aware:
https://github.com/MR-Z2plus/build
MultiROMMgr*.apk -- app for switching between ROMs in system and for manage ROMs.
TWRP_multirom_z2_plus*.img -- TWRP with MultiROM.
multirom-*-z2_plus.zip -- MultiROM installer (installing from TWRP).
multirom_uninstaller.zip -- MultiROM uninstaller.
Note: All credit to fedor917. I'm not maintaining builds - just making people on xda aware of it.
Better this MultiROM or DPB (Dual Boot Patcher) by the same Fedor?
I would say DPB since it still gets updated from time to time and multiboot is frozen since nearly 5month.
I only tested DPB once and atleast it worked for me (installing mokee m as secondary rom) and multiboot would probably get the job done too.
Can someone give instructions for this? Its possible to install zui 2.5.344st and (for example) Dirty Unicorn ? Using aosp roms, but need sometimes the camera of ZUI -.-

Yes, it is fixed doing that but if I'm not wrong once you switch another time ROM it will do that another time. Maybe I'm wrong because when I used dbp I removed the pin directly

Is it solved?
Guys, is there a way to dual boot 7.1.2 AEX 4.4 and 8.0.0 AEX 5.0? I've been trying using DBP, but no success. Could someone point me to a guide on it for the Z2 Plus? I've seen the other phone guides, successfully patched and flashed the secondary ROM in data partition, but when I boot it, it gets stuck on the android splash screen. Please help.

I have the same problem, wiped data and problem is still there. There was no problem on OpenBeta 12, still don't know how it was possible to bring this bug to stable.
Same issue with me. Im on elementalx btw. I dont think it is kernel related issue.

Any update on this? I'm on freedom OS 2.6.1 and it occurs randomly, which btw gets fixed after manually unlocking the phone with pin. Which btw occurs again after unlocking with fingerprint. I've tried applying different themes, but still the same result. Just when I was happy with something!

Nougat better than MM. Update by OTA, if you are not rooted and bootloader is locked, else flash stock MM rom, modify official update and flash via TWRP

You must unlock bootloader to root the device. As your phone is still in original condition, just check for updates in settings, it will display some updates, download and install them.

You can use Qfil: with it you don't need root or unlocked bootloader. Just download the stock ROM you're interested in from Zukfans.eu (maybe you can find it here on XDA, I don't know) and flash it with Qfil. We're changing the argument dough... the original question of this thread was another one. If you want further informations, search them here on XDA.

I'll give you the infos about Qfil etc, but I have a doubt: what did you mean with "automatic lock screen time"? I'm asking you this because maybe i misunderstood and there's no such option even on Nougat's Official ROM.
Anyway, Qfil, in theory, will void your warranty, but, if you flash everything correctly, no one will notice you used such a program. About Qfile there's a guide just right here on XDA: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z2-pro/how-to/howto-flash-stock-rom-t3435109
You can find the stock ROM on ZukFans.eu: https://zukfans.eu/community/threads/full-2-5-412_st_-qpst.6185/
https://zukfans.eu/community/threads/indian-z2-plus-qpst-official-firmware-zui_2-0-093_st.587/
There are both the Indian and Chinese versions, but the indian one is not updated yet, so You'll need, if you want Nougat, to flash the Chinese one.
And if you find Qfil too difficult to use, there's MiFlash. You can find the guide on Adroid Brick: http://www.androidbrick.com/zuk-z2-z2-pro-qpst-qfil-miflash-rom-flashing-guide/
About this last guide, tough, i suggest to ignore the part about Windows Test Mode and, instead, do this (this is a procedure to follow so you can avoid drivers' issues):
1) Click on the reboot virtual button in the Start menu while pressing the left shift button.
2) The pc will reboot in a light blue menu, in which you'll have to click on "troubleshooting" (the second option).
3) Click on advanced settings/option.
4) Click on "Startup Setting" (the penultimate option).
5) Click on "reboot".
6) Press F7
I hope i helped. Anyway, I must repet myself, this thread was created with a different intent.

There is no chance of hard bricking whatsoever by simply flashing a system image.
Use TWRP for what it's for, backing up then flash whatever you want.

Hi, could you tell me how did you flash the GSI to your Tab S4? I have a SM-T830, but I'm unable to use the TWRP, it always made my device loop on startup.

Hi dr460nf1r3,
I tried flashing twrp from this post several times after reseting by flashing a stock firmware, but every after flashing twrp, my device just boot loop and wouldn't get into OS. I downloaded system-arm64-aonly-gapps-su.img from here and flashed it, boot loop still appeared.
Details of my trying:
1. Reset device by flashing one of below stock firmware:
2. Make sure OEM unlocked, go to download mode, untick 'Auto reboot' in and then flash twrp_3.2.3-2_sm-t830_26918.tar with AP slot in .
3. Press volume up and Power buttons to go to twrp, at this , internal storage is not accessible, but I have an external micro sd card, which is accessible in twrp.
4.
a. If I reboot device, boot loop happens.
i. If I flash system-arm64-aonly-gapps-su.img to twrp's system partition, the flash is ok, but boot loop still happens.
b. If I flash TabS4_oreo_forced_encryption_disabler.zip and format data and then reboot to twrp, internal storage is accessible now, like below:
i. If I flash system-arm64-aonly-gapps-su.img in twrp's system partition, the flash is ok, but boot loop still happens.
boot loop screen:
I really want to flash a gsi rom because I'm a android developer, and firmwares mess up numbers of system code therefore is unfriendly to debugging. On the contrary, devices keep their numbers of code accurately same with system code in android sdk.
