Found Camera Patch (actually on PE Roms, so I've downloaded Patch for Pie 9.0 Roms from here https: //forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/themes/app-arnova8g2s-google-camera-port-t3784423/post78491957#post78491957)
Installed via Magisk, rebooted, but Panorama and Photosphere still not working. I don't have CAF edition, what's the difference? Can someone help?

Tried to update to latest version of PE, ok. Unistalled Gcam and all modules and reinstalled, but same error.
Panorama takes a normal picture, and on photosphere doesn't even appear the "shut" button.
Should I reinstall PE?

Same error here. On stock camera panorama works, but on Gcam nope. what's the solution please

Hi, I have Pixel Experience (with Derp Kernel) updated to the latest version as of today. I use this version of the GCam by ArNova, and PhotoSphere and Panoramic work as expected. Since this is my first post, I can't post the link. You can find it on the official website of Gcam Porting, in Arnova category, and it's the third from the top (MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova-based_v.1.3d_TlnNeun_2 that's the name). Hope it helped!
Remember that you have to uninstall the previous app to install this.

7.1.2 will work fine with front and rear potrait and video recording too.
The version which is most stable and i use is "GcamMod5 from arnova v1.6"
And rom i use is lineageos official
Smooth best in performance too!
Rom is your choice but 7.1.2 based roms are best for modded gcam!
Did you flashed any fix to enable HAL 3 Or just directly flashed the GCAM ?

I don't know about magisk module fix
But i do it like this:
1. Install the app from playstore called "build.prop editor"
2. Give root access to the app
3. Tap edit icon. Go to the last line and add without quotes "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1"
4. Save it and reboot. Done.
I'm sure that module of magisk must contain this line and add it to the correct file
So what i said is manually enabling it.
Flashing that module will reduce your work!

add this code to ur build prop file usin a root file explorer like es and reboot :-
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
or search for camera 2 api magisk module on google and flash it
and for ROM I'd suggest viper os v3.1.1 Android v7.1.2
most stable and customizable rom available for our land in my view ?
Use viper os 7.1.2 aroma best rom .
TBH I think GCAM performance in 7.1.2 better than 8.1

I've uploaded 60fps fix in attachment. Not my work. I took it from mi6 discussion thread. U flash this module via recovery, wipe cache + dalvik/art. Then install MGC gcam 5.3.015.
Clear app cache before running it. That's how I got it to work. Unrooted gcam is plainly either with focus problems or with features disabled.

Which gcam mod you took/installed?
It seems there are many versions.
The one from "arnova" on this thread seems to work, and have the community who can help about that specific gcam mod:

I have the same problem and as I can see, nobody posted an answer/solution to this question.
Thanks!
I've heard that gcam 5.3 and 6.1 only work with redmi note 5 India version (20mp front cam)
with global and China version (13mp front cam), it will crash when switch to front cam
Don't know if it's true
i'm using China ver, pe extended 21/10 built, front cam crash with gcam 5.3 and 6.1; cam-patch installed
But you could try and tell,
https://t.me/rn5cp/111
This is the lastest magisk module patch, use for Android P
Load it via magisk then reboot into twrp, wipe dalvik+ cache
Reboot system

STABLE GCAM 6.1 - No patch and no root

Hello guys!
I finally found a stable 6.1 gcam for our beloved whyred. My model is Chinese AI red. I am currently using Havoc OS 2.4 (Android 9) without any patch, root or modified kernel. All standard of rom itself.
The apk's author is marlin-ku (https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-marlin-ku/)
Notice: You need camera2api enabled!
Recommendations:
Disable 4k video (use full hd)
HDR on the front camera DOES NOT WORK (but if you disable it, everything works)
Download: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/gc_6.1.021_whyred_05dm.apk

You're right, Xiaomi should enable camera2api by default, on MIUI Pie it's just a value on build.prop, nothing more nothing less, it's awfull marketing
I have camera2api enabled but get only forced close.
I'm using MASIK 4.1 Miui pie. Front camera work fine for photos and videos. One bug is superzoom in front camera video with 60fps.
But finally we can use one GCAM TRUE Stable.
Thank you
working like a charm with masik 4.1,thanks

Very interesting. I have the latest version of Havoc OS 2.4, on my Chinese note 5 with stable firmware 10.3.4, with absolutely nothing else (root, patch camera, kernel) and this was the most stable version I've ever installed on my whyred. Everything works, minus HDR on the front camera and the 4k video. Everything else works perfectly here.
