They need to step it up to 12v 25w at a minimum. It's not terrible as it is, but knowing how much better it could be is a bit of a kick in the shin... especially considering the expense and the fact it's supposed to represent the best of the Galaxy line.
It's good, yet still somehow disappointing.

Considering the competition offers must faster charging, Samsung should let us charge at 25W just like the s10 5G variant will be able to.

It's actually slow as FF. Charging this device (especially with screen on) is a nightmare. During the day, with auto brightness and mostly bright environment hitting ~15-20% in 30 minutes. That's ridiculous.

My moto x pure edition 2015, charges with turbo charge quicker than this s10+ fast charge.

I'm happy with the charging speed, fast enough to charge and not too fast to deplete the battery life!

Same here 1.5hr or less for a 4000+ mhz battery is satisfactory.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro used to charge from 5% to 100% in 50 minutes, but the overall performance is still far from S10plus. I struggled to get 8+ hours SOT without standby on the Mate 20Pro, whereas with the S10 Plus ive had a steady 9hrs and even achieving 12hrs SOT and 20hrs standby.

I can charge my S10+ running the AT&T firmware here with a LG fast charger in 1 hour 24 minutes coming from 19%

Recently i purchased Samsung 25w charger but its take same time like bundle 15w charger

what's better for the battery, shorter charge/less heat from 50% or 1 1/2 hour full charge from 20%?

what's better or does it make a difference?
1. recharge battery when 50%?
2. recharge battery when 20%?

I also have a question, compare to OnePlus 3, which one charges faster?

I would like to know this as well
Definitely the one plus 3. Dash Charge gets from 0 to 60% in 30 minutes even if you use it. And the phone keeps cool while charging.
Charging is fine it quick charges till 50% and then slower .
Happens on most smaprtphones, fast on the first half, slower on the other one...even the 1+3
Hi There, your Honor 8 phone comes with a 9 V 2 A high voltage quick charger. It also supports 5 V 2 A chargers. Make sure you buy an official Huawei 9 V 2 A charger; unofficial quick chargers will not work properly. If you need a quick charger, you can buy one from Huawei Vmall or official Huawei experience shops. Charging times may vary depending on the ambient temperature and the remaining battery level. (NS)
It's pretty good, although my old Zenfone 2 used to charge faster.
big like
ok
Are quick chargers available or not yet?!

That info was already given: H8 comes with 9V fast charger. Search forum. Even from a Huawei support member.
Charge is enought fast , from 7 % to 100 % , about 1h30min .
Charging speed is good but not the fastest out there, my old Acer phone with 3500 mah was a bit slower but certainly not miles behind. But for me it is fast enough.
http://batterys.org/product/samsung-galaxy-s4-i9500-b600be/
Just compared the 1+3 and the honor8. while honor charges fast, 1+ is way way faster. almost 1/2 of the time
rapid charging speeds
Doea chargw fast enough, takes around 1:30hours from 10-100
It's good enough for me. But it's hard to buy Huawei's power bank which was told to be the only one compatible with Huawei's fast charging chip tech. I am in the US BTW.
My Honor 8 charges in 1:45 hrs.
Hii to all Honor 8 owners
I have discharged the battery all the way till the phone powered off
Then I did not turned it on and pluged it on the charger
The phone turned off at 2%
It took from 2% to full charged 100% about 1 hour and 35 minutes
I'm very satisfide with that charging speed
And at 2% it gives a warning messege that in 30 seconds the phone will shut down.
So, it is not just shutting down without notice like most phones
Amazin SOT on Nougat
7 hours and 40 minutes

Lenovo p2 battery problem

I just bought a lenovo p2 after hearing some impressive review pf its battery. But my phone discharged 25% in 4 hours. My 3g connection was on,I played coc, played some music. Is it a battery problem or is it normal?
Your battery will take several cycles to achieve full capacity... let it run down, then slow charge it (NOT with the fast charger supplied) and see how it goes... you should see 2 days of use, although videos and music etc will negate that.

The only thing I disagree is to use a different charger. The supplied charger will automatically switch b/w QC and normal charging (it's not entirely related to the charger either, with processor having some role in it)
Quick charging creates heat in the cells... the worst thing you can do to a battery ! Far better to slow charge, which is more likely to achieve maximum capacity.
Once the battery is "conditioned" then yes - use the fast charger, but the same laws of physics apply... the battery life will be reduced overall, but its a trade off against convenience, and how long you personally plan to keep the phone.
-If you lost 75% of charge in 4 hours that is too much... probably because there was a bad first estimation of the level of charge?
-If you lost 25% battery in 4 hours of intensive use (so you still have 75%) that sounds ok to me.
Also I dont use the fast charger, because battery gets a bit warm if you use it, although that is normal, excesive heat could deteriorate the battery in the long run.
Guys i think the problem is solved. The first 50% charge drains in say 6 hour but the rest 50% lasts like9-10 hours.

Best battery life I've ever had!!!
so nice
I must say, while battery life is exceptional, the charge time is not up to part with my S6. I forget what the maH was on the S6, but the S8+ doesn't charge as fast.
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Mine is good
Why doesn't it support Quick Charge 4.0?
Charging speed on my s8+ is very fast. I don't mind that they didn't use fast charge 4.0 or 3.0 or 10.0, that's their choice and all I can do is look at the actual charging speed and not on the technology behind it and in my opinion it is very fast.
Compared to my Moto z force it's nowhere near as good. In half an hour the s8+ would be at around 40 while the z force is at around 60. What do you expect though from a 5amp charger. Just wish Samsung could've integrated the fast charge that the z force has.
its fast charge for the size of the battery
app "Ampere" from PlayStore tells me fast charging feeds it more than 1200mAh consistently
battery lasts more than a day
happy with the Plus
Nothing compares to the Mate 9 and it's Super Charging. 0 to 90 in less than an hour ?
You are right, that's an amazing feat for a piece of hardware
We are behind... a bit with our 8s
Best battery life

Don't depend that app just read the manual and observe your phone.
Can you recommend an alternative?
Yesterday I charged my s8+ with the original fast charger and the original cable and it took 1 hour and 34 mins to charge from 1% to 100% and today I tried charging with the original charger of my s5 and it took 1 hour and 48 mins from 1% to 100%.
This is it? Only about 15 mins difference? 1 hour and 34 mins is quick but the difference between fast charging and regular charging with a normal charger isn't big at all.
AQI7 update had really made things fabulous.
Better standby and faster wireless charging compared to earlier ones.
And QC 3.0 charger charged my S8+ from 12-100 in 1hr 30min
Sammy Finally switched to USB C!! Battery charges considerably faster than the S7 when using an aftermarket 2.4 amp charger.
Will be
SOmetimes it might be the phone of the century

4 hours? seems a little low, i get easily 3 day with the battery mod, and never had a problem getting to bed with phone still alive, so it last at least 1 day. i have normal usage, social media, couple video calls, online banking, tickets etc...alsa charging is fast for me, i come from a moto g2
The phone heats up a lot while charging with its TurboPower charger, it would be nice a toggle for disabling QuickCharge when not needed.
I never had better phone in my life. Charging is amazing fast, and Moto turbo power mod is awesome. No need to leave phone for charging, leave Moto mod and put on the phone while done. Usually for me it is a matter if I can disconnect charging before phone battery reaches 80%. After over a year battery status shows my phone still has 2850mAh, but all the degradation is taken by Moto mod. Time to change it, but of course... not able to buy it anywhere.
Was great first year when 10w charge was working. Now takes forever and only lasts 4 hours like the guy said. Too bad it uses internal battery.
I just bought a XT170-9.
Battery was 0%, production date exactly 2 years ago.
I think I will return the phone. A lithium battery that has been empty for an unknown period of time is not new any more.
Charging time with 3A 15 W is
30 min - 50%,
60 min - 80%
70 min - 90%
is this normal or too fast for a new battery?
I used USB C PD 18 watts and it's charging rather quickly.
Yes, it supports 18 watts PD charging

50% in 30min is pretty standard, most QC 3.0 takes near that time to reach 50%
I don't know about 80% and 90% either, but I think not having the battery charged for a long time doesn't affect Quick Charge charging time.
But you are right, you should return the phone. I have had bad experiences with batteries being dead 0% for a long time.

Thanks for the answer. I decided to keep the phone. It's a year since I bought the phone and I believe I start to see some drop in capacity now. but apart from that the phone has a very good battery.
Well, low charging times could indicate low capacity...

What kind of charger are you using? Motorola Turbopower 18w?
You know, brand new phones don't have their batteries draining earlier, they at least last like 1-2 years before you notice drop in battery life. If the drop is sudden like from 1 month or 2 them the battery might be the problem, but then since its Moto Z you could try buying those Battery Pack Mods, and they're sort of a strike of luck to get one that actually works the best since regarding Moto Mods people has mixed opinions towards them, because not all of them works flawlessly and some may get faulty mods, which is why there are negative opinions towards them.

Yeah, I got two Moto 18 W charger and one 12 V Anker USB-C charger which delivers similar power.
that's a good idea, to buy a battery mod instead of replacing the battery. will keep that in mind.
At least you could disassemble the mod and replace the battery and won't risk damaging your phone.
only drawback: the mods are super heavy, got the Hasselblad and the Sound Mod.

Wall Charger 1Amp or 1.5

Hello guys,
To offert at my battery the best treatment I'm looking for a lower amperage wall charger for my Pixel 2XL.
Between 1 and 1.5 Amp it will be excellent. I read some interesting suties about battery life and how manage it and fast charge is part of that.
Thank you all anf have good evening.
I am sure it will charge on either one, but how fast who knows? If you are rooted and have Magisk, download the ACC module and you can control your charging that way instead.

I am an electrical engineer, and have some knowledge about how Li batteries function.
I have always wondered this, I always see people mentioning that slower charging is better for the longevity of Li-ion batteries. There is always a trade-off here. Slower charging also means the battery takes much longer to charge, and the battery stays hotter for longer period of time, which should affect it's lifetime. Fast charging also does the same thing, but the temperature is much hotter but is exposed for shorter period of time.
Now these is merely a speculation on my part, I don't have any theoretical or experimental evidence to back this up - I think regular 5V 2A charging is a balance between those two scenarios.
Also, I recall that the peak charging current is limited in P2XL, so using the stock charger shouldn't harm that much either.
Pixel 2XL is my first smartphone who do not Come hot when it charge so...
But I know that high temperature are not the best things for battery in general.
And about the level of charge ? Some people said they stop at 80% to manage battery

I use a 5 watts charger and the phone stay completely cold during the charge process.
Also there was a recent 2017 scientific paper that tested what degraded the battery. It's a really interesting read with many tested model.
https://www.researchgate.net/profil...e-model-under-different-charging-stresses.pdf
Number 1 cause is high battery voltage at the end, second one is battery charging speed. Any speed faster than 1c will degrade the battery much faster.
This is why i charge at 5w plus stop charging at 80% (unless i know I'll need 100% that day, where i fully charge, but for my usage 80% is more than enough for the usual day).

I download AccuBattery and charge my phone from 25% to 80% max. The app detect directly the stock capacity of my battery (3520mAh) but after my charge, the new capacity estimated is 2982%. Is the first value is reliable or I have to do some other charges?
You have to wait for about 10 cycles. It says in the application something like that.
