Evr-l29 9.0.0.187 - Huawei Mate 20 X Questions & Answers

EVR-L29 9.0.0.187 firmware is now available on FunkyHuawei. Does anyone have a change-log for this? Has anyone tried the new firmware?

I was wondering the same and even asked FH on Twitter but didn't get an answer.
My last update with HiSuite didn't go very smoothly so need to know if it's worth the trouble.

I've installed the update but there is no change-log in "about phone" and I don't see any differences. Initially the update kept failing in HiSuite using the FunkyHuawei instructions, but I uninstalled HiSuite (the version required as per their instructions) and reinstalled it and then following their instructions the update installed correctly. All in all it took more than an hour. A lot of work for no noticeable benefits.

Does that include Feb security?
We should get the AI color mode as well as that.

I have no 187 only 184 strange

You have to follow the FunkyHuawei instructions exactly, including downloading their "loader" file and their specific version of HiSuite from the links they provide you in their instructions. I had to uninstall my (regular) version of HiSuite and install the one from their link and follow their instructions in the sequence they set out before it would work. You can also write to them at [email protected] and explain your circumstances. I've always found them very helpful, and they have even done a firmware update for me via teamviewer when I couldn't figure out how to do it.

Hello
So there is no way for me to get out of the carrier and telephony software change to the Retail channel?
If I want to install the Nougat I have to wait for the carrier or put a modified ROM? This ROM you are offering works perfectly? Can't install it on my smartphone?

There's no way known to change software channel now. But you can still install nougat if you want.
My software channel is also timbr and I'm using Nougat, what you need to do is update your phone using retbr OTAs.

I got the update just now. On two different devices.
I got one manually too.
Just follow the steps.
1. Download firmware finder app from play store.
2. Allow the necessary permissions.
3. It will show you the latest update dated 30.4.2018.
4. Click on it.
5. Get it through DNS.
6. Allow the VPN connection.
7. Go to system update and check.
8. Once the update is detectedz terminate the VPN connection and download the update and you are good to go.

Hey, Folks!
I recently switched from P9 to P20 (L29). Now that Erecovery supports Pie/Emui 9 I want to install Pie with it. According to this german page I have to choose the "correct firmware package". With a quick look into FirmwareFinder I found two similar named and "approved" firmwares but they have different sizes. 3.804 GB vs 3.823 GB. What firmware should I take?
Thank you in advance.

First time, i could not update with USB C Key, with rev 200; i downloaded rev 201; put in dload folder; and *#*#2846579#*#* and software upgrade, and all is OK; i will try now to updte to rev 229 via HSTOOL (See Mate 20 PRO on XDA) but i have to modify an xml file; regards
I'm able to recover the firmware using HiSuite and a modified XML file, I might be able to provide us a way updating to all newer 9.1* soon like people do using the HSTOOL for Mate 20 PRO. I'm trying to see what HSTool does, I only think it's replacing the firmware after decompressing the download.

Motorola One Action Android 10 Update

Motorola One Action has received an Android 10 update for Brazil and India. As far as Indian Variant goes, the update package name is QSB30.62-17. Although I am enrolled in MNF, but my device is rooted and hence I can't get hold of the OTA (the usual Package Verification Error Message). If any Indian user could capture the OTA URL, kindly share it here. Thanks
Android 10 update is here!
Just now I received the Android 10 Update for my Moto One Action :crying: . Have a look at the below screenshots. Surprisingly, the size is only 743MB. I tried capturing the OTA URL, but couldn't find anything worthwhile. However, one line caught my attention, i.e.
ab_delta-Blur_Version.29.291.1-30.11.18.troika.retail.en.US.zip
I seriously don't know why its jump across the border over to the US as my device accepts RETIN (INDIA) firmwares. Anyways, who cares Talking about the version, it is QSB30.62-17. By the wat, it's taking way too long in getting downloaded. One hour has passed but only 50% complete. I will update the post with screenshots on successfull completion. :fingers-crossed:
EDIT: I Have received the Update with my device having an Unlocked Bootloader. So no need to relock your bootloader for the OTA. Just make sure to unroot your device (obviously )
I"m waiting for the update un Chile, also hoping More device development, come from a redmi note 3 pro

I tried searching the file using the ota and zip keyword, but nothing fruitful came out. The logcat is in txt format but exceeds the maximum file size upload limit. So I have compressed it.
I found (googeling) an download link for the ota, i dont know yet if it works.

in case someone did not know that there is a magisk module that cuts the "notch" in the development options and this covered some notifications in Android 9,
In Android 10 this does not happen anymore, I comment in case someone has installed the module and remove it only for notifications

Here is what needs to be done.
I I have attached two files here. One is the fastboot commands file and the other one is of the extracted stock firmware. Here is what needs to be done,
Extract the ROM and keep it ready.
Then have a look at my 'fastboot commands' file.
Compare my fastboot commands file with the extracted ROM's servicefile.xml.
Make the modifications accordingly to the fastboot commands, if and where needed.
Note: Extract the ROM inside the Platform-Tools folder only. Then open cmd or PowerShell from within that folder and execute fastboot commands.
