I bought Nokia 8.1 yesterday, the phone is excellent in nearly every aspect, but two hours ago I faced a little issue.
I sent a friend 3 voice notes on WhatsApp, they responded that the first half of the first note is not clear, I played it and for about 30 secs (out of 1:32) there was nothing recorded but noise, the rest of this note and the other two were good.
After noticing that, I recorded too many notes and records (using different social apps like telegram, messenger and WhatsApp itself) with no issue. I also made some phone calls, and recorded videos and voice records perfectly.
I am just asking if anybody else has faced a similar issue, till now I think (and hope) it is just a software issue in WhatsApp. So, does anybody have an idea about such issue?

I'm facing a similar issue except I'm breaking up more and more as the conversation continues up to the point they can barely make out what I'm saying. If I call someone with Whatsapp it seems to be better.

I have my device since yesterday and I experiencing following issue: Voicemails on third party apps like whatsapp oder telegram are veeeeery quiet.
Compared to incoming voicemails from friends my outgoing voicemails from pixel are much much quieter.
Anyone experienced the same? Any fixes?
Yes, I've had this same problem on snapchat. When I send a voicenote is super low and but when listen to one sent to me it's at decent volume. I noticed ironically when I talk with my mouth pointing at the top size of the phone, the mic picks up better than when talking to the buttom size of the phone
I use the app called Sleep to track my sleep habits. It records snoring. I can now barely hear me snoring but the app shows it's just like it was before on my Nexus 6P. I submitted a bug report to Sleep but they said they don't think it's a problem with their app.

I have to get right up to the mic on telegram to have it picked up my voice.... BEYOND ANNOYING

Hi there,
So i bought redmi note 5 global version which seems to be identical to note 5 pro. Problem is during skype calls and even phone calls the recipient can not hear me clearly most of the time. Sound becomes muffled and incomprehensible, person can hear me but can't make out what i am saying. It does not happen constantly, issue comes and goes. I am on 9.6.4 MIUI version.
Does anyone experience the same issue? Could it be firmware issue or charging pcb microphone issue. I don't feel like dealing with warranty since i have sensitive data on my phone, i spent ages setting everything up and it would probably take long time to get it back. I was thinking to replace microphone pcb myself since they can be purchased for 10 buckaroos and replacement it is easy and straightforward.
Does anyone have some insight into the problem or has dealt with it themselves.

So i upgraded to MIUI 10 and issue persists, doing some reading it seems during voice call apps like skype top noise canceling mic goes bananas and messes up sound for recipient.
I feel changing bottom mic pcb won't do anything. There were posts about disabling noise canceling but for some reason those posts are taken down.
Does anyone know a fix other than throwing my phone against the wall. I need to use skype a lot, i've gotten used to my lil redmi, would be shame to buy smth else.

It fixes the static background noise in recorded videos,but it might work in skype too
I have the same issues like Dzessi.
Mic is an garbage, unusable. Allmost all the time is not working properly, expecially in games or apps (voice chat) is low, high, diatorcions, radio white sharping noise, echo. I ve tryd everything on YouTube an papa Google, nothing solve it. I receive it in September as my bd gift, and I can't enjoy it, so frustrating I never write so many mesages on apps since I ve got an Java phone, nobody wants to voice chat anymore, (my brother recorded me and send me the voice message on whatsapp) well, I didn't voice chat whit me allsow in that horrible noise. If someone can help me solve this I ll be so happ. thanks in advance

I'm facing a strange problem when recording audio messages on whatspp or instagram etc.
It happens only when I'm inside a moving vehicle . Really can't understand it. It isn't wind, as I tried recording with closed windows already.
Sample recording attached. In this audio I haven't said anything, it is the pure distortion sound. When I say something it gets worse, sometimes can't even understand what I'm saying.
Are you all having this issue or what?

I use to send WhatsApp audio messages since a couple of days, and the person which received it tell me that my audio file volume is very low.
I try to send simultaneously an message through WhatsApp with 2 phones and indeed, with the other volume is correct, even wonderful when I compare ?
When I listen a audio message from WhatsApp, into WhatsApp I heard some noise "cryp cryp" like a vynil LP from 1950 ?
But when I found this audio voice mail, an Opus extension, the message is clear.
Some messages talk about these problems and claims that is a update problem since Android 10.
I don't know if my sent audio file was some bad before, but I remember that the file received was better.
Do you know lf Nokia is working about these problems?
Any alternative exists to correct that?

I sent my friend in the Philippines a like new Pixel 3XL recently. It's been working fine for about a month, but the last few days there has been a strange audio defect which is only noticeable on my end. Using Facebook Video Chat, he can see and hear me just fine, but I am getting a weird audio feedback (like a distorted echo noise ) when I speak. And when he speaks, sometimes the volume varies up and down and can also seem muted. I've tried 2 different phones on my end (my LG V20 and a Pixel 6) Both have the same issue. He called his sister who has an Iphone 6, and she hears the same things I'm hearing. Since I can chat with others and not experience this issue, I'm assuming the problem is with his phone. Any ideas what may be causing this?
