extract and copy dmcu.ext on sd card. In recovery menu use update mcu from sd card
I have the same problem with my radio PX5 for my Toyota Yaris with*Android*8.0*and when installing Rom and MCU updates have changed the screen resolution to 1024x600, when the correct one is 800x480, I have reinstalled several times even doing wipe data and wipe cache . My MCU version is MTCE_MX_3.0 and the current Rom is MX4_PX5_8.0 (20181122). Let's see if someone can help me.

I have a joying uqs01 rkpx3 / rk3188 1024x600 head unit and I've been trying to get a recovery working for days with no success. I have tried literally every option the closest I got was the RK30GENERIC_CWM.zip it booted into the recovery great but was unable to mount anything. Anyone have any ideas or a fix? All i really want to do is install the malaysk rom.

When i boot to the stock recovery all it showed was an android on its back and it said no command and when you reset everything is reset to factory. The only thing i can get to flash is the update files i got from joying and when i put them on a sd card and reset the device with it in it flashes uboot then proceeds with flashing the mcu, boot.img, kernal.img, etc.
If anyone could help i can donate for their time i would really like to install the malaysk rom but everything ive tried has failed.

Heres the update files i was given by joying. When you put them on a sd and reset the unit it will start installing there must be some way to mod it to install the malaysk rom instead.

I don't think you have an MTCB unit. Malaysk rom unlikely to work

In the MALAYSK 5.1 ROM thread there is a link to a tool that allows to create a similar SD card that automatically installs a ROM. Look for SD Firmware Tool

You probably can if you can get your device rooted bit without root access I don't think so

You need to be rooted and then it can be done.

Go to THIS link then go to the download page and grab the Stock SystemUI + Framework with minor mods – DOWNLOAD and install it. Then go into System UI Tuner in settings.
Unfortunately, I can't find it again, but one of the OTAs had a tool built in to do this in the UI Tweaker. It might have been the "V" version but I haven't been able to get it again.

Hello, I have a car stereo Android 5.1 brand Qillu. The problem is that it does not start anymore, it is in bootloop. I would like to see if it is possible to launch the recovery mode, but I can not do it. I do not have many buttons except the "mute" and "reset" button (which only reboot the device).
I tried to long press one or the other but there is nothing to do ... I dismount the device to see if another button was hidden but there is nothing else.
Do you know how is it possible to access this menu recovery or how to reset a tablet in bootloop ..
Thank you.

You can open the unit and check the MB version and SOC board. That should tell you what kind of unit you actually have.

Looks like a very low end multimedia unit and it's probably WinCE so I'm afraid you're on the wrong site.
STM32F030R8T6 http://www.st.com/en/microcontrollers/stm32f030r8.html
Core: ARM® 32-bit Cortex® -M0 CPU, frequency up to 48 MHz
Memories
16 to 256 Kbytes of Flash memory
4 to 32 Kbytes of SRAM with HW parity
No Android runs on this.
I am good on Android though. I had the Playstore, with maps, Spotify, some game ... It's Android as on my smartphone is not Windows CE.
Hello, we just sent this tutorial and the file. Follow the instructions, click on download, I plug the device and turn it on. But nothing happens ... It is not even recognized on the PC .. I really do not know what to do ..

To make the best out of it, I'd like to update the MCU and Firmware.
If my assumption is correct, this is a PX5-Board with a "KLD"-MCU.
They installed AndroidVersion is 6.0.1 - a bit behind.
So, if i'm correct those 2 files should be correct for this headunit?
Android 8.0 - "https://yadi.sk/d/umCvHqCDzHccr/RockChip PX5%20 Android 8.0/KLD"
MTCE KLD v2.80 - "https://yadi.sk/d/umCvHqCDzHccr/All dmcu for PX3%2C PX5%2C Intel ofia3g/KLD"
Anything I should look out for while updating? As there's most stuff in russian - English/German should be aviable in the firmware, aye?
(Know how to root/flash my smartphone, but never did something on a headunit.)
Best regards
Look at the instructions published, 2 micro SD cards, format the card properly, also there are videos on you tube. Did mine a week ago.

Thanks - are the mentioned files the correct ones?
No they are different. The link I provided is a popular 3rd party rom with enhancements. Go to the first post and it explains everything. The room is designed for the hardware (PX5) not the distributor with their different software mods.

Aye, thanks.
Cant use it though - the downloadlink for "SD_Firmware_Tool_For_PX5_android_6_0_1" gets me an .img-file within a .rar-file. The .img-file can't be opened...
Yeah, no custom firmware for me.
You don't open the image file. There are steps to follow. px5 is a px5 unit. Just branded differently.

Hi guys, just got an android unit for my Citroen C4L. Got it used and it came with everything including the canbus.
Before installing on my Car I wanted to test it out and upgrade to Android Pie but even after reading I have a few questions that I hope someone can help me:
- Below is the config for the unit. Its a 2GB/32GB PX5 unit.

- I already found versions 2.79 up to 2.90 for MTCE_MX but I have no clue on how to update (and if its needed for something)
EDITED: Nevermind that one, got the .img file for MX2_3.13 from May/19 and updated fine
- The unit has only one button, being the reset button. I tried holding for 15-20 second, letting it go and pressing it again in order to try to get into recovery without sucess. Any other known method?
EDITED: After having built a OTG cable and sucessfully connected to the computer I tried using the keyboard to get into recovery cause, why not. Worked perfectly (Holding Alt GR + prints scr and pressing E repeatedly)
- How can I find the version of the BT module? To be sure isnt the one that has issues with android 8/9
EDITED: When I go to factory setting is showing SD-968 but since you can change this setting Im not sure if its the correct module being showed
-The Unit had a SD card slot but when I open a File Manager, it says "SD CARD not available", and when I insert the card, I get a USB STORAGE so my guess is that the SD card slot is just an USB 3 port, meaning theres no way to upgrading android from it correct?
- Would paying the 10 Euro be most practical method for me for the upgrade? Doing that way can I downgrade back to 6.01 is something were to go wrong?
- It is possible for me to run into any incompatibility from the current canbus?
Thanks!
Well, for know I was able to full flash an OREO image with the OTG cable, and then update to the latest Hal9K release.
I noted the serial number changed. Contacted Hal to see if its possible for me to go directly to android 9.0 (paying the 10 EUR)
