That suck, If I have to I will have to do it this weekend when I'm off. Is someone able to pull it from their phone, and I can simply reinstall it? Funny thing, is even before I did this, my calendar would FC ever since I bought the phone new.

You can reflash the kdz through LG UP, without reseting. This will reinstall all /system and all disabled apps I think.

[ROM] PARANOIDANDROID [JELLYBEAN] [20120719 1.8b: JB- Experimental Toro Port]

Hello everyone, I apologize for not having a fancy or pretty first post but I wanted to get this out.
Moles updated to 1.8 today and I have got a port for our CDMA devices working.
Things to note:
1. I have not thoroughly tested this yet as I just got it working. As always I would recommend a Nandroid backup before proceeding.
2. You must perform a full wipe before flashing this ROM unless coming from 1.7 - That includes data/cache/dalvik.
3. GApps are not included anymore and must be downloaded.
4. First boot takes forever so be patient.
5. Currently there are no Paranoid Settings in the System Settings menu. Instead open your app drawer and use the Paranoid Setting app to change UI.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's all I can think of that is imperative, please post with your findings as I'm interested in gathering information about what works and what doesn't.
Mediafire link to 1.8 here.

You can edit on the phone, some changes require reboot and others do not. If you make a change and nothing happens chances are you need a reset. Good question though, I'll update OP.
Ok seriously time for me to get off the computer, I'll be away for the next few hours so have fun.
Copying my sd card to my Mac and hen will be flashing. Will update with an issues I find...not that I push this thing to the limits. Thanks again.

Can't remember exactly but I thought it was 160 or 140. I thought it was right around there. I'll look back and see if I can moles post where he gave the different dpi's.

Took a while to boot up but it is up and running. Now I just need to figure out how to get it into tablet mode.
I found the pad file but not sure what to change in it. Haven't ever modified it before.
Same here I changed the preference DPI to the 160 and system ui to 160 but did not see framework? Did not look right. Restored back to bug less beast until more progress is made but it is very exciting.

I don't understand it at all either. If someone could briefly explain that would be great

Think we need the Jellybean su. Just guessing we need that to make\save changes to pad. Is that right?

Gmail crashing for anyone else? I can open it but can't open any emails. That's when it crashes.
That would be dope if we good get the notifications in the middle just like the nexus 7.
And will the inverted mods work on this?

I loaded one of my gmail accounts into the stock email app and could open one there. I cleared the cache and the data from the app and still no success. Thinking about deleting the app and reinstalling. Any ideas?
Pretty sure you can. I think you just have to change systemui to =2 in the padprop. there's a link in the gsm thread from moles about it. I haven't been able to try it yet, but I will soon.

Anyone else having issues with Gmail. I can open emails from one account but not another. The main one crashes. I cleared cach and dalvik and it's still happening. Removed the account and added it back in and still same thing. I can open emails from that account if I load it into the default email program.
I've tried to make some pad.prop changes and they're just not being recognized. Changed MMS.apk to 200, its still in 320. Rebooted as well. I'll try clearing caches and report back.
FWIW, no gmail issues here. I had a browser FC, but its all good now.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
bill - I've seen the same with the pad.prop. It just won't save the changes. It's weird with the email. I can open the app and see the list of email but as soon as I attempt to open one it force closes. If I open the app and select the other account that email opens just fine.
No problems viewing individual emails here, but clearing caches didn't work either, also tried setting it to tab mode, didn't work. Any changes I make to pad.prop are being saved, but ignored by the rom

I get this problem occasionally too. It's the maps application acting up. For me I go into settings then apps then maps. Then force close, wipe data, and reboot.

I disabled location access entirely as well as syncs but it still goes on with wakelocks. Strange, since I never had this problem before. I stopped maps and cleared data&cache, will see if that fixes it.
apparently it may be an issue with the new gapps maps app. update us with any info
yoft1's technique worked for me.

For me it worked like this:
1. Location services off under system setings.
2. Google setings ( find this in app drawer) location setrvice off.
3. Google now off ( you find this also in google settings).

Capacitive buttons not working

So the capacitive buttons on my dad's S2 aren't responding. He reboots the phone just to go back to the home screen. Anyone know a fix for this? The phone is stock without root.

Anyone out there?

I'd Odin stock back on it. Tho without root and titanium backup, he'll lose his apps and data and need to download them again.
If its still not working after that, it's a hardware issue.

Any apps like "secure folder"?

Gonna miss that app on the Note 7. Is there any third party apps that work the same?
Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
No i looked t'other day. There are for pics etc but not for apps.
Samsung Knox works the same and is available for most recent Samsung phones (but not older ones).
Beyond that, you are looking at apps that will simply lock an app but won't hide it. Something like Norton App Lock. Not as good, but better than nothing.
Unfortunately, I found Norton App Lock wouldn't work with LastPass, so that was a bit of a problem for me.

NSeven ROM by @chevyrhoads

The purpose of this thread will be to allow the OP of NSeven ROM to be cleaned up. Bugs and problems will be posted here along with any fixes or answers. As always, the goal is to help each other make this the most stable ROM for the Note 4. I will do my best to go through the OP and pull out each concern and the fix, or the best answer.
Alright folks, I received an update from @chevyrhoads, here is a link to the new website and build of NSeven!
https://chevyrhoads.wixsite.com/nseven
We will still use this thread for issues and troubleshooting.

Google Duo, no audio for me. I can be heard but can't hear the other end. That is all.
I've noticed that if I flash and nothing else, it runs hot and has huge battery drain. If I then flash xceed kernel it runs cooler with less drain, but I lose root. If I then flash supersu I regain root but again have high temps and battery drain. Think I'll go back to build 2 until this is sorted out.

There are not 3minute battery mod That works with this rom?
I'm on version 3.5. All is working well except my apps will not update via Google play. Error code 419. I take it it's the same Play services bug the good folks are working on. I am very grateful for their work.
V4 is awesome all around. Google Duo works, YouTube doesn't lag, Playstore works, no battery drain. Great work Chevy!

Setting, wallpapers and themes.. From there you choose where you want the wallpaper or picture.
Few non important issues, they I'm wondering if anyone figured out.
One being the screen overlay stuff? Can't edit some permissions due to screen overlay?
Another is the connected to network name'' [email protected]#$ '' or something.
Think that's it, just minor cosmetic ones I can't get to go away that are messing with my OCD.

I have tried to use the Amazon Prime Video app from the Samsung Galaxy App store, and I can't get to the sign in page. The screen is black with a green button that displays on the bottom for about one second, then immediately goes white, and no other input is possible? Does this app have root checking on it?
This happens on build 2 and 3. Has anyone tried this app on build 4? I haven't upgraded yet.
Great rom! Thank you chevy, we are all so grateful. It's buttery smooth and overall amazing how you accomplished this rom.
The only issue I've have encountered is with android auto and my 2016 civic. I've tried multiple cables, multiple versions of AA (AA still works on my other phones moto G4 and moto e), but can't get it to work with my note 4 running this rom. Anybody have any ideas? Thank you.
Edit: solved thanks to LumberjackZac
"First you have to have Android auto installed from the play store and open it up. It does a bunch of updates and BS then when you connect your phone via USB cable, go to NSeven settings, USB and hardware then set the USB connection to mtp for Android auto to recognize your phone"
The main Rom thread has been shut down??? What's up..
