i have problem restoring my previous backup using official twrp 3.2.3.x after making backup on miui polska rom ( moded firmwareless ). but i got bootloop after restoring full backup and continously restart after 10 seconds.
any have suggestions for my problem for my future backup and restore problems?
Happened with me as well when I backed up most of the things including vendor, Try just backing up Data, System & Boot. Maybe it should work for you too as it worked for me.

I backup the cm13 and wanted to restore the original ROM but is not starting up..
It stay fix on the initial Oneplus logo..
Any advice?
Thank you,
Simone
I would try dirty flashing 3.2.2 over your restore. Oplite or freedomOS I think there is a stock flashable 322 out there too.

It depends on a lot of factors.
What ROM, what TWRP version, what partitions did you back up, etc.
If you want to get your phone working, you can flash any ROM of your choice from TWRP or restore stock image.

TWRP Version is the last one (I think). I backup every partition so I made a full backup of everything. The rom Is the simple aosp. I very want back all my stuff

Backing up all the partitions was the mistake.
Getting your stuff back looks difficult.
If you flash ROM using TWRP, your media files and anything stored on your phone won't be deleted.
But all your apps and stuff will be lost.

Yes it can be backup,
It is recommended to backup every partition and keep a copy of whole twrp backup folder in PC so that if something goes wrong u can restore them later.
Many times peoples lost networks, phone lags, low battery backup,no sound in call or many other problems so be on safe side, backup your device.

Hi at all,
with my new phone Xiaomi Mi A2 lite, I wanted doing the backup of my phone with TWRP, because in case of problem I will ready to restored it.
But I have discovery that the partition "data" is not visible because is encrypted and is impossible with TWRP to do the backup of it.
Is impossible use the storage of phone for make the backup beacuse it is also encrypted.
Is there anyone that has found a solution to decrypt and copy the partition in question?
Sorry by poor english and thanks all wonderfull team for the working doing.
If I were you, I would forget about our TWRP. It's just a half baked version which got official status by sponsorship. At best it's an early alpha version far from beeing useable.

i think you flashed the twrp image instead of booting it and then using the zip to install it. just redo the twrp installation exactly how it is written on the thread, encryption will work. restoring a backup however, does not (doesn't boot). for this you have to restore the data backup and then reflash the same rom the backup was made with from fastboot with the "flash_all_except_storage.bat". I would also recommend to do this before you try to reinstall twrp.

Yes, it is far from usable but at least he built a working tree anyone could build a booting twrp from. it defenitely does not deserve the official status bcs this would mean it is maintained and working propperly.

Hi all, I'm currently running miui EU rom 11.0.11 with bootloader unlocked and TWRP installed. However there are so many different twrp recoveries available all with different things working....
So far I've only flashed one rom since I've got the phone but with all these amazing looking custom ROMs around, I'd like to try out a few but it seems backup and restore is currently not possible.
TLDR: anyone know of a TWRP with working backup for Xiaomi redmi note 9s CURTANA?
Cheers

You should use the latest recovery version available, I think now is the OrangeFox recovery, it's the unified (miatoll) version. To can make backup, the recovery need to able to handle the encryption installed by ROM. To restore the backup... another challenge. I using only data backup and when want to restore, I wipe data, flash the rom, wait for first boot (set same pin code as used in backup), than restore the data in recovery. In case of unlucky situation (encryption difference between "restored" and previous rom, the rom stuck at first boot and need to format data partition (will delete internal storage too!!).
I use ofox recovery, having stock rom in an sd card and migrate backup I just flash new rom and when I want to come back, I flash stock and restore migrate. Nandroid backups are a bit risky I think.
