Hello, When using my dasaita i have message or information on the screen from the car. For open doors it works well but the other messages appear with invisible background. It happened with : ice warning, activate or deactivate rearwiper, esp, stop/start.
How can i fix this trouble.
I also have trouble of electric parasites when using rearcam. How can i fix it too ?

Hello you'll have to edit the canbus.Apk. You can do it by using Root explorer to find the folder ,then rework it with paint for exemple. you can also translate also in your language if not existing yet (with notepad).

The solution requires rooting the device. I wonder why the manufacturers haven't fixed the problem. Maybe they are not aware of it.
Anyway, since I don't own the HU (yet), is it possible for you to upload the canbus.apk? Even if I don't buy the HU, it would be interesting to check the messages the canbus sends and experiment with the translation.

I install another rom. Hal9k rom. Its not so difficult To do and the forum can help you. I ll can send you the canbus apk when i go back home. What is your language ? I ll tell you if your language already exist. You have To know that some trouble already exist. Sometimes information from canbus appear very quickly. Another member is looking for repair it.

My major concern is the messages sent through the canbus about car functions and notifications (for example, ESP off, low fuel, low ambient temperature, unfastened seat belt etc.). When upgrading the factory screen the goal is to add features without losing any.
Is Hal9k ROM addressing these issues? In this thread there is an image of the missing background. It would be very nice to have an updated image with the corrected version.

For the background i can help you. I m not sure that you can add more information from canbus than original. Button OK is present. It work. But i dont use it because message dissapear after des moments. To be honest i dont know if all messages appear. For seat belt it doesnt appear for me. I have for esp wiper light maybe other but i dont know exactly. I ll send you Another message when come back home

I am modified the canbus.apk but when I put it in the system and restart, the messages will no longer appear
I am still testing different possibilities and will keep you updated

but actually , on this new mod, i unable to modify canbus apk by myself. (i dont look much)
Another members will try to do his own canbus apk but he's very busy and it will be for Peugeot 208/2008.

I will contact @segu45 to see if he can help me.
I decompiled the apk with APK EASY TOOL and Im not sure which PNG to edit (box1, box2 etc) to make them a solid color.
It should work after compiled, unless the rom has some specific signature that it checks for (contacted hal9k to ask about that)
I will only migrate to android 9.0 when theres a custom rom for that.

I have the .apk with the darkest backgrounds and almost all the colored png In the next few days I will put a link for those who want to change it. It is the last one, valid for all Rom in android 9 and for all vehicles. If someone wants to translate into their language, I can send it in English and when it is translated, compile it in the apk.

Is there a way to adjust the rear view ruler? Because mine is too short and useless. In some youtube video they changed the angle of the ruler and the distance betwin the yellow and red lines but with no explanation.

did all the stages and now I have a new apk with the picture I created (with my son who really liked drowing on the street). Now I can't copy it back to the system/app. My android car isn't rooted and I tryid with no sucess . Please advice.

Plenty of info on root here if you search or if compatible with your HU install Malaysk rom, it has root already.

Just give the message bubble a tap and you'll see the time stamp.

I don't know for exactly I have look under Google , u tube, setting G+ settings and I'm a white female 36 that lives in the US in Texas, I think whatever it is has me Korean/Japanese and link under family link or partners so I can't watch anything over rated on t.v , computer, phone, tablet etc. I believe my Tablet was UNRoot/root and changed all my info... Need HELP... thanks, tina

Doesn't look like anything with root. Can you try factory reset and start again?

At least for the "Korean/Japanese"...
If I'm understanding correctly, try changing the language to English -- drag down notification bar, click the cog, go to System (second option from the bottom), then Languages & Input (selection the topmost option), Language Preferences (topmost option), and move English to the top (hold down 3 lines next to it) and/or click green plus on the bottom of the list and add English (US)....
If I'm understanding correctly, you trying to work your phone when everything is in Asian lettering would make things exponentially more difficult to figure out and troubleshoot...

I'm wondering if there are any ROMs in development to change the look of the headunits? I really like the idea of them, but the launcher/software is really clunky and unaesthetic. How would one go about creating a ROM that would include a different bottom-bar (where the A/C and volume controls normally go) and removing the top bar (where there are currently app shortcuts)?

Look at MCUver. It is clearly not mtcd.
And I'm using it now, but it's an undeveloped unit that can't even get root. There is no custom ROM. I plan to order MAX6 on 11.11.

I screwed up my klyde 7.1 unit. Using admin password I entered in some settings, I changed something and the unit restarted and now on the display are shown only some colored stripes. I'm looking for assistance in getting the root password to the unit via telnet.
I don't want to remove the unit from the car or desolder anything.

Yes, someone was able to help me get root access.
My unit already supports Android Auto, I just want it to use more of the screen (I have a 15" screen and AA uses like two thirds of it). No luck with that yet, but not had time to sit and mess with it for a while.

Would you mind sharing how you got root ? I have the D-Link Ethernet already and it's setup as needed I just am unsure of which up to set the card to and need the root password. I know there's a way to generate a token via a port but not sure how to decrypt that to gain root access to enable Android auto.

Yeah i can help you out but there is a reason why its not public and free yet.
Theres 2 methods on the market as of now. D-link and SD card only. For D-Link a generator and a challenge key is needed to gain root access then you have to do the magic with fecmanager and exceptionlist. Pm sent.

Is your car a Touareg or Porsche by any chance? I have a Porsche fullscreen solution but need a Touareg to test same thing.

It's a Touareg. Native maps go full screen (respecting the softkeys on the right and bottom) but aa/carplay don't use anything like the full canvas they could.

Yeah i have this for Porsche ready. I could test it on Touareg as well, just need to get the resolution right. You would require d-link.
