Hi guys I purchased a Archos G9 101 250GB TURBO From eBay a few days ago. I paid roughly £200 for it. I got the tablets and the Mains adapter No micro USB
The first day it seemed to be working okay Imported all my details, it seemed to be okay. I downloaded a couple of games and then the screen started to Play up flickering. I went to Maplin's and purchased a micro USB the bloke behind the counter Plugged it in The tablets, and he said look at that it's flopping all over the place We looked inside the USB port and it seemed like there were bits missing
anyway needless to say it wouldn't work
I have e-mailed the people I purchased it from And had no reply as of yet
the thing is how can I prove that we never damaged it when we put in the micro USB port.I Think they already knew it was broken and that's why they never sent the original lead with it. The screen flickering has got worse, you have two apply pressure to the lower left-hand side and then it will stop flickering.
It looks like I'll not get my money back so, my question is can I still get the USB port repaired When it is not under warranty. I will pay whatever it costs,
I have read bits and bobs saying they no longer Repair the systems Is that true? Any help regarding the repairing would be truly appreciated thank you paul
If you paid by PayPal then you should be covered, put an item not received as sold/listed strike through ebay/paypal. PayPal will put a hold on the money while the issue is resolved. If you paid cash then there is nothing you can do.
Hope that helps

AFAIK, if PayPal was used and the item was NOT described as 'faulty' on the eBay listing then you can file a complaint and have your money refunded if the problem isn't solved.

You should be able to get your money back, as stated above file a complaint as item faulty.
I hate selling electrical items on Ebay personally as it is heavily set for the buyer, the seller has few safe guards.
Hey guys,
I'm looking for and advice on Type-C to 3.5 mm cable. The original one lasted for about 5 months. I tried to buy two different cables. One cheap white under 1 USD, that was utter crap, and slightly more expensive golden braided one. That one looks better, but still performs horribly. The thing is, one phone sounds fine, but the second one has low volume issue. The only cable that works without problems is the original one. But it's really worn out after those few months, and music stops often, because the phone thinks the headphones are coming out. So... What would you buy, possibly on Aliexpress?
I've got two favorites, one looks like original but isn't original (I can't post links yet, so just search "Letv X820 Type-C Adapter Type-C to 3.5mm Earphone Headphone audio interface Adapter Cable for Letv LeEco Le Pro 3/ X829" on Ali) and the other one is two times more expensive Vention one (search "Vention USB Type C to 3.5mm Adapter Cable Headphone Earphone Jack Aux Cable for Letv Leeco Le Max 2 Pro 3/Max2/S3"). People say that the first one isn't original but sounds as one. And I'm not sure about Vention. It should be good, specialized company, but I'm not sure, the product doesn't have any reviews and paying twice the price for the same product seems unnecessary. But if it'd last longer, I'd definitelly do that.
I love the phone so far, but this no jack thing is horrible. So if you have any tips or recommendations, please don't hesitate to tell me.
Thanks a lot.
I've just ordered these 2 weeks ago:

http://s.aliexpress.com/yaeMrY3i
(from AliExpress Android)
Not only that I've received them in about 1,5 weeks to Germany but the build + sound quality is great!
The sound quality seems to be at the same quality level of the original adapter. And the build quality is way better..

Thanks for the tip! I just have a question. Is this really the original stock one or just a copy? Because from what I've seen those copies look well on the photos but don't match the quality (well quality... 5 months of usage isn't something I'd call quality, but whatever, at least it plays well ) of the original product. But it'd probably be the best option, because I know the length of life for those and could buy three at once and never worry about it again.

Thanks for the tip! Could you please estimate the life of the cable? It looks fine, but overally, will it last the same, or twice the time as the original one? Those braided ones definitelly look more sturdy, but you never know... If I should buy two or if one could stick for about a year?
Thank you, guys.
The quality of my new ordered cables is really solid and durable. I've also ordered 3 units at once and Im pretty sure that those will stick longer than a year with me.
Idk if castius has already ordered http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-TypeC-to...0AAOSwXeJXc8Sc these, but from an previous order that had the exact same looking cables I can tell that my unbranded white cables have miserable sound quality and arent durable at all.. They broke after 2 Weeks of usage.
But maybe you'll be lucky with the white ones. I wasn't.
Cheers
That's great to know, thank you. I'll probably order two and we'll see. I'm just waiting what castius has to say about those ebay ones, if he already has them. Because that's what I'm afraid of, that they'll maybe work fine for three weeks and then the same story as with those unbranded ones that we've got experience with.

Where did you buy your device? I'm thinking maybe a warranty claim..... I just had my charging brick replaced, hit up the Le Forum and ask, worth a try.

Well, it was in HKTR store on Aliexpress, I seriously doubt that I can get something from them... Or do you think it's worth a try? I'd do it if I was in India or USA, where LeEco normally sells their phones, but buying it from China as a Czech republic citizen, I guess there's not much I can do.
EDIT: Okay, so the product page says that warranty on accesories is one month, so that ended before it started Still thanks for the idea. But I'll probably end buying the Bastec one, it even went one dollar down today.

Always worth a try who knows maybe they have a stack of OEM cables they will sell you.
I bought my Max through Amazon (device came from Chinese seller), leeco (USA) replaced the charge. I didn't think I had a chance, but Leeco barely questioned it.

Well, I've got two golden ones in basket, but I'll maybe switch to the silver side, because my Max is silver. I'm not sure yet, just waiting for seller to reply. But apart from those two, the colours are kind of hideous, to be honest
I got one silver and two black . The silver one differs a really small tiny bit from the black cable. Anyway I think that any color is a bang for the buck with those cables. and both colors have the same great audio quality.
Soooo... It didn't work I'm buying two of those Bastec beauties, so thank you all and hopefully everything's gonna be allright for at least a year.

So I'm back after two weeks, with both Bastec cables delivered. And I wanna thank you again, it cost me under five dollars and performs the same as the original one. But the Bastec one really seems much better built, so I hope it'll deliver for at least half a year. Great buy.

Hello guys, after 5 months, also my CDLA adapter just stopped working, so I'm searching for a replacement of good quality.
I was going to buy the Bastec one, but it's currently unavailable and maybe it will never returns in stock, so I don't know what to buy, I bought an high quality adapter for 8 euros on Amazon, but it sound very bad and also inverts audio channels
Any suggestions? Thanks...

Hey, you're right, the Bastec one is nowhere to be found now. I'm really sorry for your loss, this is a really tricky business. My one and only advice is this - Don't ever buy an adapter without engraved name of the company. Those are really shi**y in most cases. I did some research on Aliexpress and this is what I found:
Something that looks like an original cable. You can find more of these on Ali, there are even some with user pictures, so those should be relatively safe to buy. Although don't expect them to last more than half a year with moderate usage.
Then there's Vention, I think I already have some cables from them and it always worked as it should, so I'd guess that in this case, it should be the same.
And finally, this beast here which looks monstrous and should deliver properly. Not sure about the quality of charge, but audio should be fine.
Unfortunatelly I can't tell you any personal impressions, as I own only the Bastec ones, but this is all of my knowledge. I hope it'll help you to find something that's really working, fingers crossed.

Oh I can't thank you enough for your help , I've ordered the Voxlink one, it seems the best choice especially for the double cable for charge and audio.
I will give a feedback as soon as I will receive it, so it maybe can help also other users that probably will need to buy an alternative adapter at some point...
Again, thank you very much

I'm glad I could help, I really hope that this one works without problems. I remember how big my troubles were when I was dealing with this problem, I bought two adapters and both sounded like a 1940s radio. The worst thing is that you're waiting weeks for it to arrive from China and then you can't do anything else than order another one and hope that after another few weeks, things will be different. I'm really looking forward to your, hopefully positive, feedback. If you have cable headphones and will use this phone for more than half a year, there is a chance of about 99,9% that you'll need another adapter, so your feedback will be surely welcome from every other Le Max 2 owner

i'm specially interested in a dual 12v charger (one slot good for the pixel 3, another for standard usb smartphones); and too i'm looking for a phone holder.

I use this one from Aukey. It's half the price of the Anker.

Looks sleek in my opinion and has just a minor LED. Also not that expansive.

I see that thing is BT 4.1. If it's low latency you're after, look for something that supports BT 5.0. Also if you're looking to use a BT receiver for music or the highest quality sound available right now, look for ones supporting both BT 5.0 and APTX HD.

I saw several options in the thread, but any of them are from amazon. I personally prefer the source - China, where everything from amazon actually is manufactured. Just've got car charger with dual sockets - USB-A and USB-C. It cost me $4.99 at sale, now $6.99:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Baseus-30W-Dual-USB-C-PD-Quick-Charge-QC-4-0-Car-Charger-For-Mobile-Phone/32919769665.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.17524c4dQHBim9
It's Baseus 30W Dual USB C PD Quick Charge QC 4.0 Car Charger. Nicely packed (perfect as a gift). Checked how it works - perfect for Pixel 3 and Pixelbook. Tested both sockets, no surprises, it USB-С rapid charge, in USB-A just charge. It comes pretty fast - ordered Dec 29, delivered Jan 11. It's not overnight, but you know - time is money. About phone folder I use simple one, without any build-it charger for $1.59 or even $1.19 for weird color:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Car-Phone-Holder-Air-Vent-Mount-Holder-Pop-Universal-Holder-For-Phone-in-Car-Mobile-Phone/32883695237.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dJZghQu
Pretty strong spring, good grip. Again, similar thing at amazon cost way more. This is why if I see something interesting at amazon, I search similar thing at aliexpress and almost always find exact the same thing at approximately half price. Hope it helps.
Agree with Che. Most things on Amazon are overpriced. There's pro's and con's to buying overseas though.
My biggest concern when going through stores like Aliexpress or Wish is quality and customer service (in case you have questions, received the wrong product, etc.) They either take a week or more to get back to you, or don't get back to you at all.
The other issue is the obvious one. Shipping speed.
Other than those things, I've noticed the reviews on those sites seem completely fake. There's a lot of the same type of comment, someone's verbatim, for certain types of products. As an example, check out the comments for bluetooth receivers on Wish. It's easy to spot if you look for it.
Now even with all these things considered and even if they're all true, it doesn't mean the product isn't worth the price. It also doesn't mean the product isn't a high quality one. But how do you really know what you're getting?

The customer service is actually pretty good. Only twice nobody answered my questions, but they just silently refunded in full as I requested. Mostly they reacted literally in hours. I've never tried Wish, I use only Aliexpress or other sites from Alibaba group (you can see list of them at the bottom of their page).

Yeah, this is the real issue if you need something fast. Usually it is in a month, but in holiday season can be way longer (the worst case was 3 months, but I wasn't in rush). Again, as I mentioned - time is money. I was surprised this season - despite of warning of 60-day delivery, they delivered in less than 20 days (ordered Dec 10 2018, delivered before Christmas - wow!). Now many Aliexpress stores have warehouses in the US, so it can be even several days.

About quality and reviews - just use your common sense, like at ebay. As I mentioned, "if you see something interesting at Amazon" - so use Amazon's reviews to get a real review. The brandname at a gadget can be different, but remember OEM - they print whatever name you'd like, so if items look alike, they usually identical. Don't forget Google search, including image search. Also don't forget basic research of a seller - how long the store is active, how many positive reviews, what sort of negative reviews they have - some customers are just inadequate. Also positive reviews can be faked, negative - less likely. And. of course, you are right - it's easy to spot a fake one in both categories.
About returns - have never returned anything there, so have no idea how it works if it does. If something's wrong, a seller at Aliexpress in my case prefer to refund and leave you with a defective item. Once there was a shipping charge, so I discussed with the seller that issue and politely pointed that is illogical to pay for delivery of an non-working gadget and they agreed, refunding a half of the delivery charge, as I offered (I had two identical gadgets in my order and one was dead).
A little experience of interacting with Chinese stores - they value their names pretty much. They don't like to "lose face", so if you have a problem - contact them first instead of opening a dispute right away. Almost always we reached mutually acceptable solution. In case of Aliexpress, as I know, they have pretty strict policy there - if a seller hit 95% or less of positive feedback, Aliexpress will kick them out. This is why they are attentive, expecting your high (5 stars) feedback in return. It's better to lose some bucks, than whole business. Also keep in mind cultural differences - it's normal for a Chinese to see business relations as friend's relations. So don't hurt their feelings - it pays back. As everywhere.
Hope you are not bored to death by my long note.

I don't blame you there. I'd much rather go with something that is built in than an extra box you have to plug into a jack and hide somewhere.
All of us know that Type c to 3.5mm jack converter is not included in the box and i want to know that from where i'll buy it on oneplus.in it is out of stock & on Amazon some cheap companies selling it at high price. other than this the best substitutes out in the market.
[Update]
Purchased original one from Aliexpress arround INR250 and oneplus.in showing INR420
Buy it from any local shop. It will be much cheaper.
Take your earphones and test them on the spot (with mic/calling).
Regards
This bugged out even me. From what I've found out this adaptor has been out of stock for a very long time from the official oneplus store (There have been several complaints about it as this is something that is prone to breaking and getting lost).
In order to get them offline I tried getting in touch with the oneplus experience store. I tried calling them multiple times they but they never picked up. So then I went to the store personally only to find it was out of stock, and would take at least 2 weeks for them to get it back in stock(If that happens).
Then I tried my luck with multiple local stores but none of them had it.
Now, getting to the important part. I've been researching about it for a while now and might've finally found an adaptor which would most likely perform on par when compared to the stock oneplus adaptor and is of good quality. It's the Mi adaptor.

For Indian costumers: We can use Sharesave App to get the adaptor.

I have the Mi adaptor and can confirm that it works perfectly with Oneplus 7 and the sound quality via earphones is as good as my OP6 with 3.5mm jack. I got the adaptor from Xiaomi Store for only 10RMB (around 100 INR) while visiting China 2 months back.
Ordered from eBay some cheap cables. As soon as I get them, I will let you know. They are advertised to work with OnePlus 6T, 7, 7 Pro. I can't see a reason why it won't work since OnePlus 7 has an analog connection, DAC is inside, unlike other phones that has digital one. It's like before, when the phone had a jack 3.5mm, only now the connector is different.
I got this from Amazon :
https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07T3V8LTM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_2zknDb9N1375W
However, others are not able to hear me talk while using the headset's mic.
It's way too low they say.
I use Sennheiser cx275 s. I've been using it fine since 3 years. I tried the adaptor with another headset. Same observation.
Is anyone else facing any issue when using the headset mic connected to adaptors?
I bought a local adaptor but i was barely able to hear anything the other person was speaking and it was the same on the other end too.
Official Oneplus 3.5mm to USB was available in stock yesterday and day before but now i see its out of stock. I did order one yesterday and should receive it tomorrow.
I saw it in stock about a week ago. And it was in stock till yesterday, I guess. I have my 6T's adapter which works just fine on the 7. But ordered another one, just in case.

Bro.. i m new to this forum kinda things hence if any issues found please ignore & sorry for late replyin
What kinda earphone you are looking for .... if in-ear earphones is your priority then purchase a connector of oneplus only as the sound quality delivered is very good and also it is very good in quality and usage.
If in-ear earphone is not your concern then buy LETV earphones with usb type C ( which is white in colour ) which is very good in quality far more better than oneplus bullets and it has Led light in its earphone which is an added advantage ( it looks very Unique ).
Hope i solved your query ..
Cheers:good:
I ordered a Type C to 3.5mm Jack Adapter today from Oneplus.in,
So anyone in India can check out oneplus.in as it might be still available on oneplus.in

Yes. Same issue.
Tried different adapters, different headsets.
Tried the DAC adapter too.
One common issue across all adapters is that the opposite person gets to listen to me in very low volume.
This is a big big problem. Still trying to find a solution.
So today is the day, after doing good bit of reading to try to study up on the the current crop of potentials for new phone.
Wife and I migrating from H918 LG V20's. Gonna miss the replaceable battery, headphone jack, and SD card slot, but had to do something. Down to about a month now, at least according to the SMS alerts from T-MO.
So picked up 2 LE2125's today. Was looking at few others with the OnePlus 10 Pro as my next choice, but since LineageOS is important in my world view, neither 9 or 10 Pro have SD card slots, and the sands of time running low for my wife's V20, I couldn't wait to see if OnePlus ever got around to releasing a *US* unlocked 12GB/256GB version of the 10 Pro, and anything Samsung is fuhgeddaboudit I don't care how nice their displays might be.
Seems like a pretty bleak time, comparatively, to be looking for a smartphone that covers all the bases. At least compared to features my V20 has. Gonna miss those but if nothing else they might make good network video cameras.
I don't have any illusions about OnePlus/Oppo caring much about what I want in a phone, but I would like OnePlus to know that lack of a 12GB/256GB storage OnePlus 10 Pro US model cost them the sale of 2 OnePlus 10 Pro's today. I was also a bit disappointed in lack of mmWave 5G radios in the 10 Pro while the 9 Pro has n258, 260, and 261 bands, but that wasn't really a dealbreaker for my wife's or my own usage pattern or interests
BTW If anybody at OnePlus/Oppo DOES want to know what people are interested in a phone and you really want to stand out from the rest of the crowd, I bet the market would respond favorably if you put a model out that has an SD Card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.
These are unlocked phones, we have T Mobile service and SIM's and figure if worst comes to worst for some reason and we decide it is time to move on from TMO, the phones' specs seem to support VZW LTE and the current crop of 5G VZW towers as well. 'bout the only other cell provider we would even consider.
Anywho, the adventure begins.

Wow, a US version or Int'l/EU/India or something?
but yea, I resigned myself to having to buy headphone adapter to solve that problem.
The general public gives no care for SD slots or 3.5mm jacks and these phone companies have made clear that they don't wish to cater to the <1% of their market share that comes from people like us who might care (while I wouldn't object to an SD card slot, I would never use a 3.5mm jack and I haven't had an SD slot in so long that I have learned to live without it) so those particular wishes fall on deaf ears unfortunately.
As for your other wishes, you can find what you want on Amazon. Since you're on the T-Mobile network, it's a great fit.

I get it... headphone jack may not be for everybody. Me, well let's just say that I've got my reasons. For a good long while I was chained to a desk in corporate IT cubeworld, surrounded by noisy people. I needed headphones and a good collection of music to drown out the.... lack of productivity generally going on around me. It was also hard to be very productive in my line of work with music cranked up in my ears, but at least I got to pick the noise, which was never the case there around my desk at the office.
Sadly, in my searching tonight for a USB-C headphone jack adapter, I've not seen one yet with a built-in charger input that you can do both simultaneously (charge AND listen to music at the same time -- or charge and participate in a call over the headset) on a OnePlus, although other brands seem to be able to. So if I ever do have to go back to cubeworld again (hopefully not), especially at the current peanut dispenser, this will surely bite me in hindermost parts at some point, ie, needing to charge AND keep the music going at the same time. Or face the certain peril of my phone having to recharge while the next bagel party is planned or other mindless, non-productive blibber blabber occurs around me...
So I don't see buying a USB-C to headphone adapter as a very good solution. I did find one that looks nice and doesn't cost very much (like a good shrubbery) which I ordered, but I'll have to settle for not being able to charge simultaneously. I'll admit to being a little salty about that.
Musicians are another example of a group of people who tend to prefer wired over bluetooth/wireless monitors/headphones for pretty good reason. Especially drummers. When even what you are hearing in your ears lags behind realtime...
So it has taken me a long time to settle on a phone, lack of headphone jack being among the main reasons. It's funny at least to me how they can justify the real estate for more and more camera eyes and sensors (but still fall so short of truly breathtaking camera performance) -- but on flagship models their marketing people also want you to believe are a pro audio platform, you either have to have bluetooth audio or buy an adapter, because they just don't have the room (or the market demand?) for a 3.5mm headphone jack.
I'm perfectly OK with people not seeing things my way, but in my book, bluetooth cans/IEM's/earbuds are also just something else that have to be recharged when the battery is drained. The marketing people may tell you cords are tangly and a hassle for joggers and other people with active lifestyles -- my take on that is a little diferent. At least when the wired earbuds fall out of your ears, they are still attached to something you can probably grab before they get away from you.
The SD card slot, well it's another thing related to having a decent music collection on my phone and room for backups and various root/mod/etc things handy without using up the device's storage. But with 256GB I will survive. I would not have been able to suffer 128GB though.
These little obsoletions are the sorts of things they call "progress" these days. I tend to have pretty good reasons for knowing what I want. It's just getting harder and harder to find anymore. I'm pretty used to the world going the other way though. It's just really been picking up the pace lately.
But at least I was able to find something well supported by LineageOS and by what I've been reading around, has decent moddability and tools etc.
Hopefully these will last a good long time.
EDIT/PS: I sat down and compared the radio band support of the 9 Pro and 10 Pro, along with coverage bands my current carrier TMO and the only other one we would ever consider switching to supports (if TMO really goes bad somehow, VZW would be most likely escape route but we are not really big VZW fans after many years of customer abuse, why we switched to TMO) . There's not much of difference between 9/10 for bands support really but for those times we do go out and about, those mmWave bands the 9 Pro supports would be useful, and are used/supported by both carriers we care about in our area.
Something like this Y cable is what you would need.
USB c to 3.5mm Headphone and Charger Adapter,2-in-1 USB C PD 3.0 Charging Port to Aux Audio Jack and Fast Charging Dongle Cable Cord Compatible with Samsung S21 S20 S20+ Ultra, Google Pixel 4 3 XL… https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09GYRH6YM/
I see your argument for 3.5mm, I'm just saying most consumers have moved on to Bluetooth. My Sony WH-1000XM3s have a 30 hour battery life so it would be near impossible to kill them without an opportunity to charge them and I'm plenty happy with the sound quality.
mmWave is largely useless on T-Mobile. I wouldn't make a decision based on that since the coverage is insanely limited. T-Mobile's n41 midband is what you really want.
EDIT: Actually, looks like OnePlus killed the ability to charge and play at the same time in software. It died in 2020 and was still dead in this thread so you may be SOL.

Yep, bluetooth may be more practical or convenient for others.
It's a shame about the inability to charge and use the headset at same time. But I see this as another example of... well, it could be a lot things. But it wasn't that long ago at all that a simple thing like that would have been a given. Something you could take for granted within a phone's specs or capabilities because, the people defining criteria or design for a phone were not developing in a vacuum. It was just common sense.
Over the many years I have been paying attention and participating in technology at work and at play, there seem to be less of those "no brainer" type of givens. As if the people designing things don't ever use them, and aren't listening to people who do use them.
Great example, totally unrelated but it really reinforces the point, at least to me. Our car is a Hyundai SUV with an "ultimate" package of features, trim, etc. One of the most insane, ridiculously stupid things I have ever seen in the interior passenger compartment of a car is the simulated wood trim the dashboard of this SUV is festooned with, from left to right.
Some genius at Hyundai, or a whole team full of them, probably all with college degrees in marketing, sociology, or business decided that the top of line model of this SUV needed to have a super high-gloss finish on all of the interior imitation wood veneer trim. In their minds, this is probably the pinnacle of bling - I can almost hear them saying "ooooh, shiney!" This was their idea of luxury.
The reality of the matter is quite different, however. As the owner and driver of this vehicle, I dread driving on sunny days when the sun will reflect off the dashboard AND BLINDS ME WHILE I AM DRIVING. Right through my sunglasses sometimes.
Of course I am aware of this and it seldom catches me off guard. But it is inevitable that circumstances will (mis)align from time to time.
Anybody who had any sense would have never put high gloss finish on anything around the dashboard on the interior of a motor vehicle. Nobody in the 60's did. (I used to work on old classics)
But if you asked them why they thought high-gloss imitation wood veneer on the dashboard was a good idea, they would probably have several reasons that would make sense to a lot of people. People who don't have to drive one of them every day....
By the time we realized this was a problem it was too late, the car was ours and the paperwork was signed.
There used to be a lot more things you didn't have to research or think about so hard when you were shopping.
Sure do miss the good old days.
PS: The mmWave support of the 9 Pro wasn't really a make or break feature for us, we aren't out and about all that much anyway even if they do have a bunch of those towers in the (2nd largest in the US and fastest growing) metro area we are kind of stuck living in right now. Just that we might actually get some use out of it from time to time. I *KNOW* I'll definitely make use of the extra storage on the 9 Pro than can be had in a US market 10 Pro model.
I came close to choosing one of a few Motorola unlocked models that were semi-interesting but none of the ones with some attractive specs really quite did it for me. There was always something that killed it for me, like the problems so many reported with green screen tinting on many of the edge models. Or the models that might have had other desirable features and compatibilities, but only supported one carriers tower coverage very well instead of 2 strong players around here.
I know a lot of people aren't really interested in many of the same things I am -- but the case can be made that what a lot of people don't know or realize is how much of what they think THEY want is actually due to marketing and media influence and manipulation -- people TELLING you what you want and how to think -- and how afraid so many -- manufacturers and consumers alike -- are afraid to take even the tiniest of risks and being the nail that sticks out -- everybody is afraid they'll get hammered.
In the end, originality and thinking for one's self become bywords and, oh my goodness, nobody wants to be accused of being "UNSCANNABLE!!!!" (Idiocracy, 2006) or going against the grain. And so it's a lot easier for a lot of the lemmings to end up in a pile somewhere down there below, just outside of public awareness and the news cycle/drumbeat.
i won't apologize for thinking that (proverbially, continuing along the Idiocracy story line) using Brawndo for everything but flushing the toilet with is just stupid. If that's how everybody else wants to go, OK fine, but I really shouldn't have to go to the toilet to get plain old water for the things people used to use water for when more things in life "just worked".
I just wish I had better choices. I don't see that many of the choices being offered these days are coming from people who think about things very much, or know how to plan and execute well.
Anyway, enough of the blabber, I am actually looking forward to getting started with our Oneplus 9 Pro's. I haven't even broken the seal on either box yet - but trying to line up all the info I can to get a quick early backup of the devices before I do much.
Appreciate the conversation!
