My point is that I don't know where to go for what you want, & I suspect that many if not most people on here don't know either.
Imagine you own a car, a Ford, you want a spare part made only by Ford. Would you go to a Honda dealer? Same thing here, you may get lucky and someone may know but don't hold your breath...

I might suggestion you do a quick read through of the rules We now have a section devoted specifically for questions and answers, when you have a question please post it there. You can find the link in my signature. If you do not want to post in this thread or think your question may better be answered by the developer of a certain skin or app, then you may wish to post in their thread, or contact them via pm. Thank you for your cooperation.
ps: you may try the link in my sig for non htc devices

maybe the phone's interes is very low with all this new devices

Introducing Forum Specific Mod

Hi everybody,
Let me introduce myself. I'm M_T_M , your new forum mod for the HTC Desire HD.
I've been on xda-developers for over a year now. Mostly visiting the devices I own and supporting other forums with the experince I've gathered on this great site. Maybe some of you have seen me lately in the forums helping a little.
Now, I'm happy and honored to be appointed to the HTC Desire HD forums to provide mod assistance to all of you in the best way I can to this great community.
I'm here to help you and I expect the same from all of you .
If you experience any other way of approach from members, feel free to contact me through PM, or report the post by using the "!" button in the post.
Additionally, I want to let you know that I'll be doing some forum maintenance (cleaning threads addressing an already discussed topic or an off topic, moving threads or posts to proper sections) for making it easier to all of you get the information you are seeking and keeping the forum clean.

great, getting my desire HD tomorrow so will move to this forum and visit the others on a needs must basis. good to know we have a Mod in the forum to keep us in order.

Appears a fair few got moved into the wrong location, en masse.
I managed to get a copy of the logs of what got moved, and am returning them just now

can we have a question and answer sub-forum like the standard desire please? the general forum is getting cluttered with FAQ's.

I'll ask Mike or Svetius. Till then, please bare with us.

One would go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=263 and look at the information on how applications open occasionally. They are closed at present.

Yes, it is. I too would like to volunteer to be a moderator, whenever the chance opens up again. I am an experienced moderator on another large forum.

Before posting a question about it, I would suggest checking out the results of a search for "Hyundai A7 tablet" and read for a bit first. You might find the answer to your question and learn a few extra things on the way. Good Luck!

Thanks for your answer but I did that before creating this topic. All that I found is related with android development and I'm not searching for a new ROM so... That's why I asked this here, because I don't know what is the best forum to post my question.

Maybe you will have to search for a Debian/Linux forum outside xda.
Or just start a new thread for this topic in xda ... somewhere near the thread the mf2112 posted before.

[REQUEST] My Devices additions

First of all I'd like to say thanks for adding the option to list our devices on our profile without having to use our signatures.
Now, onto the request. While adding my devices, I tested it to see if I could add a device which doesn't have a forum on XDA. (Even though I don't have the device, I tried to add the Micromax Canvas HD and it wouldn't add it purely because there's no for it here for it.) So, would it be possible to add devices which also don't have a forum on here?
I guess @svetius would be the best person to ask

We're still deciding if want to do this. If we allow a wildcard, people can put whatever they want in there, even profanity, etc. So...file under "maybe". :victory:

I don't believe that would really be a big problem though because even though there's an obvious chance it could happen, the same could be said for Location but, from what I've seen, the most people use it for is Likes and Dislikes.
A way around it could be a database of all devices (both on and off XDA) and only allow what's on that list. Basically an extension of the current system. I realise it would be a lot if work to keep such a list updated though as lots of devices are churned out by lesser known manufacturers.

I had seen a recent question from another member regarding this topic and saw this thread after performing a quick search.
Though this thread is a bit older, I was just curious as to any decisions made regarding this (or maybe @MikeChannon might have some information regarding this as well).

Haha, yes, I think we can say 5/6 years later it was decided not to add the ability to add a device that's not got a set of forums officially listed here. Aside from it being a way to state what devices you have it was also meant as a way to link other users to our other internal forums. The ability for folk (and there are always some) to abuse a system that allows wildcards was and is a concern too.
