Make Homebutton work properly on AOSP-Roms - Xiaomi Mi 6 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I found myself using the Homebutton wake up the Device then unlocking it with the swipe up gesture.
I like it that way. But it only works on MIUI.
On LineageOS or other AOSP-based roms I can only use double tap or the power button.
Is there any mod to make it work? Or am I just dump to not find that option?

[Q] custom actions for hardware buttons?

Is there any rom, mod or app that will let me get custom actions for my hardware buttons? I know most ROMs have limited custom actions for hardware, but they all exclude the back button and I want to do stuff like long press to open an app of my choice. This feature would be sweet.

SlimBean allows you to rebind all keys to several different actions.

Problem with pawitp AOSP 6.0.1 buttons issue

Let me start off by saying that this rom is so amazing. Brought back my galaxy grand duos to life. Huge difference from stock 4.2.2!!
One issue I noticed though: Press & hold home button activates recent apps AND now on tap at the same time!

and the question/problem is?
Like I said, press and hold home button is assigned for both recent app switcher AND now on tap. Which makes using now on tap impossible.

Make another 2 post and you'll be able to post/ask in the rom thread. You may have a better answer there than here, as Im not using the rom, so Im not able to provide better solution than this.
In cm12.1 under setting, there's button tab which have an option to set the button assign. See if your rom have the same option.
Edited: I just found this post, will gibe you the answer for your question.

Thanks, that was helpful.
AOSP does not have an option to change buttons. I love AOSP simplicity but the menu button is pretty useless on marshmallow. I'm trying to figure out a way to make it function as a recent app switcher instead.

I believe I read it in the aosp 6.0 thread about disabling the now on tap function, in Google setting I think. Check the link I gave, probably couple post before or after it.

Off-Screen gestures

Since we can double tap to wake the phone, will it be possible to add other gestures via a ROM or kernel like on the op5/5t?

Actually, I meant like to control music by drawing a gesture on the screen while it is off.

Fingerprint navigation

Is there a way to get rid of the navigation bar and use the fingerprint sensor as navigation like on the Moto x4? I'm on Oreo 8.0 regular Moto Z.

No, unfortunately our fingerprint sensor doesn't support gestures, so we can't use it to control our system.

Yeah OK, but that's not "real" fingerprint gestures.
But if it works for you it's fine I guess.

Hi
What custom ROM are you using? Lineage 15.1?
Thanks

Do custom roms have a working One button nav (swipe right to go to recent apps etc)?

I know that custom roms support Moto Actions however I have not been able to find any footage of the one button nav like it is on stock firmware. Can anyone confirm that it works?

You can find in setting<Moto actions <finger print scanner<then you need to set it as from right to Left is back and it opposite is recent and tap is home so you can use.
