Hello, I haven't recieved the Android Pie update on my S9, I'm still on Oreo. I was browsing this forum and I saw there are pie firmwares for my model.
I havent flashed or rooted my phone yet and I have 2 questions:
What firmware to choose to install with odin? I saw that there are some firmwares with CSC2 for which u need CSC1. Is there a full firmware?
Will this trigger KNOX?
Thank you.
Why don't you just wait. It's only now rolling out to the carrier models and when those are finished it will come down for the unlocked phones. It shouldn't be that long.
Ok, thank you very much. Please close this topic.

Hi,
I foolishly purchased the SMP900 (WiFi), only to now find out that Samsung UK feel it's acceptable to leave it on KitKat 4.4.
In light of the fact that it won't be getting Lollipop or Marshmallow, I was hoping to update the firmware myself with a compatible official rom.
Can anyone advise me how I can do this? Can i download a Samsung release and install it? I am not interesting in rooting it or installing a custom rom, mainly because this seems more complicated and I have no experience of doing this.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful.
Thanks

Hi Q,
Is it confirmed that the UK will not receive the Lollipop update? I was under the impression it's still coming through. I have been toying with the idea of flashing mine with another European firmware but held off hoping they would release for the UK, if this isn't the case I will flash shortly.
Si.
If you guys are talking about the 5.1.1 stock update to lollipop for 12.2 tab pro(SM-T900), It's already been released check out sammobile for your corresponding firmware update http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
(SM-P900)is the note pro 12.2 also 5.0.2 i believe was released for that if you guys are talking about the note pro, the us cellular south should work for uk.
Hi guys, I have Galaxy Note 10.1 SM-P605. My one is most likely a Malaysian variant. Baseband version: P605XXUCOE1. I still haven't got the lollipop update on this variant. Now kinda planning to flash it with the Finland version. So I have some questions here before I do...
1. Will there be any sort of problem because of different baseband/ region?
2. Will I have to face any issue with knox or official OTA updates in future?
Thanks in advance.= :fingers-crossed:
I can only answer half of your questions, as my device is rooted, so i don't get official updates anyway. Flashing a different region firmware never caused me any troubles, not on my 10.1, or my Galaxy Note4, so it won't affect the functionality of your device.
As for Knox, it will trip Knox as you are flashing a kernel not for the same region...
It may just bootloop. Make sure you have a stock rom to go back to, mind you this may not work if the bootloader is upgraded to a newer version, say KK to L or L to MM....

Ya after first flash I went through bootloop, after the second one it was fine. Now enjoying Lollipop on my tablet.

Glad to know man, btw I am having only 1 problem that is it's not showing my operator's name on lock screen or in connection settings, instead it's showing the 5 digit number code of my operator. Thats not a major issue I guess, must be some conflict with regions.
Hi I search simething about MTK devices and getting ota updates. So to users of k10 did anyone recived a single ota update, because i found that it was firstly LP on it and later MM? Also users that have k8 for 6+ months did you got any update?

It was the 30. 06. 16. update. I bought the phone a bit later but it case as OTA.
Anyways i think you can have an idea about the updates if you check the firmware relases at the LG K10 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Development section. Ze7zez made some threads about the firmwares of k8 and k10 models. Each model has it's own links where there are the relase dates of the firmwares and i guess all of them were released as OTA as well.

Thanks, but there is just one version for each region so it's not very helpfull.
Mine has last update from july, being a mtk device probably won't have many future updates
What's up everyone. I have a SM-G9GOU1, Galaxy S9 US unlocked. I recently installed the beta update to 9.0 Pie with the new One UI by following the instructions here at XDA. Yesterday, I got the official stable update by downloading it at SamFirm application. I entered the properly CSC of my device which is XAA and installed the new firmware by Odin. The device is so much more smooth and stable now. So, my doubt is, will I continue receiving posterior OTA updates, or I need to flash the stock ROM which is a Oreo version? The firmware is official and the CSC matches. Thanks everyone for your attention. Every answer is helpful.
Awful quiet around here guess everyone bought the tab s6!
I noticed an update available this August 2019. Has anyone flashed their tab s4 with Odin? And then rooted once again? I'm using a t835n and plan to get the t835 international version. But I want to be sure I can root after.
Another question - on sammobile they have so many different country options for the t835 international model. What is the actual difference? I use my device in USA so what would be the best version to flash so that I have the most bands for my carrier (TMobile). Or does flashing firmware not have the effect I am thinking on bands?
Thanks!

That's a very good question.
Are you on Oreo or Pie?
My guess, based on the rooting guides I've been reading is the one for the country that you bought the device from. I think you are on the Korean version, so I would think that would be the ideal update to use on the device and then just use it in English.
As for the S6, I'm inclined to buy another (3rd) S4 because the lack of the headphone jack is intolerable for me.
I will ask in the Note 9 forum, but do you happen to know the international version of the Note 9 that is the equivalent of the Korean 6GB Tab S4? They dropped the headphone jack on that one too. I use it to get radio on my phone.
So I rooted the Korean 6GB versions that was factory shipped with the most recent and up to date Oreo firmware and it rooted just fine. I'm missing a few apps but I'm not sure why that is (weird like missing email, internet, calculator, some google crap...). I'm trying to figure out why, but I NEVER let it connect to the internet for any reason yet. I sideloaded some of the apps and it seems fine. I'm going to check with my other Tab S4 6GB that is on the original stock firmware from the beginning to see if those apps were ever there in the first place tonight and post in the TWRP thread.
Root is fine. So I think you will be fine with the most recent firmware for Oreo. I suggest getting the Korean (region specific) firmware for your specific device.

It took me a little googling but it did turn up. Sammobile site didn't fine it for me, I had to google to get it, even thought it was still the samobile site where I found it. I didn't download any successfully yet.
