Hi there!
I recently installed LineageOS 14.1 (2019 01 24) on my LG G5. Everything works fine except for the mentioned two parts of the OS. Neither LiveDisplay nor general colour calibration are working (they both won't affect my display) - trying to solve this problem i've already tried the following steps:
- Changed colour temperature settings
- Changed colour calibration settings
- Switched between the modes (Day/Night/Automatic/Off...)
- Deleted Kaspersky Antivirus
- Installed Lineage OS again
- Asked Reddit
Has anyone else experienced this problem before? Of course it's only a small feature but i would still like to use it if possible - i'd appreciate any ideas

Hi all,
Anyone knows if there is a trick to be able to :
- use the LiveDisplay functionnaly of CM12.1 without introducting lags ?
- reduce the strength of the vibrate mode ?
I use the MDNIE Tuner (movie/photo/basic profile) with my Tab S 8.4 to overcome the oversaturated original colors of the AMOLED screen. This app makes wonder but it also would be nice to be able to slightly adapt temperature of the display (so that colors would be even more outstanding). LiveDisplay does exactly that but my tablet is very laggy when activated.
Note 8.0 N5110 (WiFi), CyanogenMod 13. I've never used the stock firmware.
There is no gradual change of the screen brightnees on my device from 0 - 12%, the brightness remains the same when i move the slider until 12%.
Then after moving the slider to about 13% the brightness "jumps" to that value at once.
This is the same when using the system brightness slider (that does not show the percentage) and the apps: Display Brightness & ScreenDim (both with a percentage slider).
Does anybody else have a similar issue under CM13 (or CM12/11, or the stock firmware)?
How could i solve this?

when you say "note 8.0 wifi" do you mean n5110? It's probably not something that can be fixed by a user.
Yes, N5110.
Sure, i can imagine that it'd be not easy to fix by a user. But i'm still very much interested to at least know...
- if it's a hardware "feature" of my device/display only, independant of the installed ROM or
- a generall bug of CM13 on the note 8 or a bug of CM13 on my device only or
- a quite different thing that could cause that?
That's why my question again: does anybody of you guys here experience a similar issue under any ROM having no change of the display brightness when moving the slider between 0 - 12%?

Using latest RR 5.7.4 my n5110 acts as yours, nothing happens until around 12%. I don't really think it's a problem, just the zero value on the slider is incorrectly set.
I made a build of RR tonight with a tentative change to hopefully fix this, but it made no change.
This change from S4 gives a clue that it's panel doesn't go below a certain value http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/158859/ so I tried adding this.
I've always found the brightness slider to be weird on note 8 (compared to my S4)., but my problem was more the non-linearity of the slider. I only have experience of stock (4.2/4.4) and CM13 myself, so would be interested in how LL based roms sliders function.
Thanks a lot, i'm "glad" to know this is not only my device with this weird acting

Sure, probably something of that kind.
But what's strange is the following: the above mentioned (btw: excellent) App "Display Brightness 5.1" is able to "dim" the brightness below the value of "0" setting a color layer over the screen.
This app begins to put its "below-0-layer" exactly at the value of 0 on its percentage slider and not at 12%. So it seems that this app actually takes the system-brightness of 0% as the "real" 0 and not the value of 12%. And the app is not able to change the brightness between 0 - 12% either.
Cyanogenmod has a feature called LiveDisplay which automatically adjusts LCD color temperature according to time of day. Has anyone gotten this to work on the builds provided by Transi1? I'm in love with this old tablet after installing crdroid and am interested in figuring out how to get live display or color calibration working. I get some flickering and temporary display corruption when i try to adjust color calibration in the same display menu as LiveDisplay.
It Iooks like support may have been added in a pacman ROM a few years back, I wonder if that change was ever incorporated into Transi1's builds

In my experience, do not use this feature on the Kindle 8.9. If I would make a guess, I'd say the tablet doesn't support this feature and on any of the 4 or 5 ROMs I have tried, will either severely pixilate the screen, or throw the tablet into reboot. I was having a lot of trouble figuring out what was causing the issues until I turned the options off. I only figured it out because after the event happened, usually on first boot of the newly installed ROM, a notice would appear in status bar asking if I want to configure LiveDisplay. This option could very well damage the device if enabled.

I have done some experimenting with this feature. The 8.9 doesn't have the ability to adapt the display. So turn that off. Set the live display mode to 'night only'. Surprisingly this works pretty well.

Interesting, I wish it worked for me, all I get is some flickering garbage on screen when i set to 'night only'. Are you also using transi1's latest crdroid build from December? Maybe there's another setting I have that is interfering

Temaseks build. CM 13.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S7 using XDA Labs
So I've updated my Moto G7 Plus to LineageOS 19.1 from 18.1 and everything works as expected so far (using MindTheGapps).
Only thing is, that there is no no visible option for setting the colors as seen on various Android 12 screenshots around the web.
What I refer to is Settings --> Wallpaper & Styles. It seems as should there be an option under the "Change Wallpaper" for choosing "Wallpaper Colors" and "Basic Colors", but I do not have any of those options, only "Change Wallpaper".
Does anyone know how to get the appropriate color settings to work or a workaround to change the color not depending on the wallpaper?
Cheers

Same issue on my Pixel 3. And, sadly, my research has only yielded a reddit thread reporting the same issue:
https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/comments/udey02
My accent colors were originally a lovely shade of Pepto Bismol pink, but I found a lock screen and home screen wallpaper combo that gives me a baby blue instead. Which I suppose is an improvement of sorts...
I have the same problem on my OnePlus 5T.
Installed it on 5T, no option to choose an accent color. Is this a bug? Why install a custom rom if there's nothing you can customize anymore?
Also can't mute the audio just by tapping the "music note" icon when I press volume button, and can't tap the "bell" icon just to scroll through the "vibrate" and "silent" modes. One of the most time saving features they manage to break... I really don't get who gets to decide these changes. Why would someone do that?
-edit- Any of you get double tap to wake to work?
Hi @Kimpfimp and the others,
Also the same problem on my device, Motorola G60 with LineageOS 19.1 , options for color are missing, so it seems I'm not the only one. I'm looking into it, I really want that option back..
@Lex_Michdeandroid double tap is not working on some LineageOS roms but will hopefully be solved in the next release...
user who had strange olivedrab accents on his phone but it now stuck with something pinkish
Same here with Poco F3 (alioth) And LineageOS-19.1-20220611
It's because LineageOS 19.1 doesn't actually have the ability to select an accent color, period, no matter what device you own. It'll always choose the color from your wallpaper; you have no choice in the matter. Maybe there are plans to re-introduce accent colors, but I haven't seen any evidence of that on the LineageOS Gerrit.
OnePlus8T LineageOS 19.1 same issue on the latest version October 2022
Since the converted oxygen os has a lot of issues (auto brightness, color mode, ota is also a pain), switching back to color os seems only proper way of using the phone, so one big thing on color os is FCM (google notifications push system) not working well, any one has solution of this? I heard about FCM fix but hadn't got a chance to try it, also can we use Android auto on color os?
