MTCD/E Mainboard differences - MTCD Android Head Units General

I've noticed my MTCE unit has a different layout on the motherboard than other units I've seen on this forum. I wanted to post up some pics of my MTCE (XRC) unit's mainboard and discover what differences there are between my unit and others.
Mine seems to have the DSP header on the front left side, others seem to have the DSP header behind the core board near the sound chip.
Mainly I wonder if the board differences lead to a different quality when it comes to a2dp. The A2dp on my unit is horrible. I have a feeling not all units are as bad as mine.

this is what the other mtcd boards ive seen on this forum look like

I wonder what the differences are

Mine is MTCE too but is completely different again. It comes down to each manufacturer, rather than all MTCD being the same and all MTCE being the same

really?
Can you post a picture? How's your a2dp?

As discussed a bunch already, they are all made from a reference design, the manufacturer chosing some module types (such as BT module, radio) and component layout.
A2dp is poor across all manufacturers of mtc/b/d/e

I dont agree. I think there's different levels of quality amongst these units. The MTCC in my m3 has a2dp that is usable. I dont mind it. the a2dp on my MTCE in my 330ci is so bad it's unusable. I've spent a long time looking through this forum and the russian forum and it seems like ther'e some units that have an isolated problem that's worse than others.
And yes the reference design is the same but I still think there's differences in the quality of these boards from manufacturer to manufacturer.
why not explore what those differences are?

[Q] Development request!?

Is there currently, could there be, or can someone port Android OS to a car stereo head unit, such as a Pioneer AVICz1, Kenwood DNX9980, or in my case (the cheap version), an Xtrons TD717? These are 2Din units with touch interfaces, bluetooth, possible network capabilities, audio/video functionality, and a processor of some sort. I would be VERY willing to donate to such a venture, especially in the case of my model head unit (Xtrons TD717), because I would just LOVE to have PowerAmp and Google Music playing on screen as an "integrated" function. If there is someone out there that would be willing to undertake such a task, because I have NO CLUE how, please let me know...and we can exchange ideas and functions/features desired.
p.s. I'm new and did look around for related topics, but if this isn't the place to post this, I'm sorry. Please "kindly" inform me otherwise.
It would be much simpler -and cheaper - to just buy an Android unit.

PX3 Headunit faults 1g/16g droid 4.4

Hellou, i hope i am in the right section, correct me if i am wrong, i am hoping to find out with what headunit am i dealing with
i have problem with andream 4.4 unit, maybe sameone has/had same problems and will know where to guide me.
Its in a4 b8 but there is no sound (yes, all wiring is correct) and steering lines only move one direction (to the left)
Is it a throwaway unit or could some software make anything better (makes shhhh and humming sounds randomly)
Thank you.

HELP! I need to identify my MCU.

I bought a used 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with several after market modifications. One of which was an older Android MCU unit in the dash. Exceptionally professionally done, no complaints on the workmanship, just the unit itself clearly could use some firmware upgrades. Also I keep getting a prompt for a PIN but I don’t know what the PIN code could be. Below are the details of my MCU unit, is this enough to identify the manufacturer, model, and OS version?

I have searched the forums but I haven’t found a suitable answer to exactly what I have installed in my head unit. Perhaps it’s simply my ignorance regarding the subject matter that is keeping me from gleaning the information I need. I would please ask any assistance anyone would be willing to give me in determining the manufacturer, model, and version number of the head unit I posted above.
Thanks so much!

help choosing android radio for unusual use

Hello team, first of all forgive the translation I am French and my English levels poor and correct by a translator
i am looking for an android unit for a nissan xtrail from 2003
I am rather undecided concerning the choice, my preferences this relates to dasaita and xtrons for the moment. Clearly I need a split screen the main use will be a surveillance camera installed in a van for monitoring horses accompanied by gps, radio ... and a rear view camera
clearly the mediocre internet network at my place. so i need a good fm tuner so this is starting to have a problem.
I also need to keep the controls behind the wheel, but no canbus for my vehicle ...
I contacted xtron and dasaita, dasaita told me about the possibility of keeping the steering wheel controls with bluetooth ... I am puzzled.
I am also undecided between a 7 "or 10" screen for comfort during my use.
Pour l'instant je retient 3 modèle en 7"
-xtrons tq709ipl
-dasaita max6
and a less expensive model at a good price : xtrons te706pl
Sorry I can't post an external link
for the 10 "I have not yet looked.
clearly my use will not be standard on this type of car radio know why I allow myself to call on your experience in order to guide me in a choice for which I am completely blocked.
I thank all who will take the trouble to read this post and to respond to me in a friendly French friend.
Hi, do you installed the head unit? How was your experience?
We have dasaita px6, lots of issues and can't use it anymore!! Thinking to buy another new unit . Could you please tell me what brand is best!!

Very laggy MTCD PX5

Hi all, I've got a PX5 (MX) in my Hyundai i30, unfortunately it's just very slow. Particularly swiping to type. I know my one only has 2gb of ram, but it's definitely much slower than android phones with similar specs.
Everything just takes long to load. For example Google assistant takes about 3 seconds from when I press the button to when I can talk to it.
I'm currently running a custom Magisc ROM with Android 10, but this problem has definitely also been around when I had stock ROMs installed and across android 8, 9 and 10.
I've done a search and there are some posts from a few years ago, but other than uninstalling all Google services, there weren't really any suggestions.
Given there aren't many people complaining about almost unusable slow units, I'm thinking maybe mine is slower than others.
Any suggestions?
Would love to hear others, and would love if somebody contradicts me, but my unit also became laggy with time. Most noticeable when interacting Google Maps (to the point of becoming annoying) mainly when I need to input a new address. Music works OK, and I do not really use assistant. I went back to Android 8 (Hal9K) but that did not help much.
I think is just the HW and the fact that apps (not only the OS) become more and more resource-hungry with newer versions. I'd challenge that you can find a phone with the same old specs of PX5, and I know Google has launched a web-based "Google Maps"(reduced) to solve complains in old phones.
But would love if somebody can contradict me and provide some hints for a deep-cleaning
In the meantime, praying that some china company will launch new devices on 2022 based on the latest RK with 4xA76 (yea, I know, too new...will taje some time)

Thanks for your reply, glad I'm not the only one. Do you mind telling me the specs of your one? 2Gb of RAM as well?
Have you both observed px5 temps?

Between 42°C and 67°C when I had a look, but changing very rapidly.
Ambient temperature around 28°C, car cabin temperature maybe 24°C.
I know for a PC CPU this would be considered running very cool.

I have been looking at them... but I understand they forcefully remove Google Assistant to use their own assistant, and that is a blocking point for me on two accounts: first I have most of my data on Google (for good or bad), second I am not sure I can trust a HW provider which blocks SW / wants to decide which SW I am allowed to use...
But thanks for the advice. I have heard they are good units and not everybody is aware of them. Other people looking at this thread could benefit by taking a look at them
Hi all, I'm pretty new to this scene and was hoping for some support and guidance from the community. And apologies if I'm hijacking the post but all other threads seemed dead with old replies. I have recently purchased a 2nd hand car which had a PX5 head unit. I will post the device details below, but I was hoping you could point me in the right direction to download a newer and compatible firmware/mcu for my unit. I'm used to flash custom rom/firmwares on android mobile phones so I do understand the process itself quite well, it's just the firmware/mcu compatibility with this device that I'm unsure of. Thank you in advance for the support.

I am not familiar with KGL Units, but according to this post they are compatible with Dasaita/HotAudio SW, and there is a thread on the MTCD General Questions subforum with links to the latest firmware for the Dasaita/HA MCU (although I haven't really seen any advantage of updating the firmware for several years... I think that since 2018 they have focused more on fixing bugs for MTC-E mainboards and newer ones rather than MTC-D). If you do not know if you have a MTC-D or a MTC-E, check if the board has an actual DSP-daughterboard or not (the "MTC-E" version that is reported on settings indicates that you have a MTC-D/MTC-E SW release and not that your board is really MTC-E)
As for Android itself, I wouldn't recommend to update it to Android 9. I have noticed SOME responsiveness improvement with Hal9K mod in Android 10, but you might loose the Bluetooth as Android 10 is not compatible with some old chipsets (check on the discussion about that in HW-Development, and the proposed solution)
