I am having problem with controlling the steering wheel control to next/pervious the song.
The radio and the music of the rom is working fine but when using other apps like Spotify, YouTube playlist... Etc is not working I have to do it on screen. Is there anything I can do in settings?
Btw Iam using 4.4.4 malaysk rom rk3066.
Hello! Were you able to fix the problem? I have a similar issue with my car, when I go to Spotify and start playing a song, I can go to the prev/next track but as soon as I leave the app, I can no longer go to the prev/next track. I can do it from the notification but not from the steering wheel or the controls on the face of the headunit. Also, whenever I try to skip a song from any of the buttons, I also lose control of the volume. So, I'd love to know how you fixed it if you have fixed it.

Being an mtcb, since posted in mtcb forum, suggest time to buy a newer unit to update your old mtcb unit, such as a FYT based unit uis7862

I see. Upon further testing my problem seems to be android related. I can't skip songs if I don't have the app open on screen. Had this with one of my previous phones too and it fixed itself one day. We shall see.

I'm trying to see if there is a way to get the meta data (song information) on my Eonon GA5162F. Currently it only shows a back, play/pause and next button however I've seen that some head unit on this forum are able to show more information.
I'm running the Malaysk 5.1.1 Rom and my MCU is MTCB-ZD v2.68
What are my options? if any.
Is there another way to update the bluetooth to get song information?
AFAIK, there isn't. I spent a few hours when I first bought my Joying trying to figure out the same thing. If you figure it out though, please report back.
on my Joying it will show a tiny bit of info, like the track playing or whatever it is, but not full metadata, certainly no album artwork via bluetooth
Guys i have a MTCD Malaysk 8.0 (i think HA alhough i've crossflashed a few times so forgot exactly) and i have a raise canbus for my golf, how can i make my golf steering wheel buttons work in headunit, spotify etc, they work in the stock BT app, the keycodes according to MTCD tools is 300/299 but even when settings them to media_next/media_prev it doesn't work.
mtcd tools or rk3188 app from the play store.
I'm having the same problem, I can turn the volume up and down. My unit has android auto, it's really annoying I can't skip tracks with my steering wheel controls. I'm not sure what am I supposed to do with the apps someone commented above. Were you able to fix this?
Me too. I'm a premium member of Spotify but end up using my lame stock music because of this problem.

I don't remember making any changes to this, but for some reason now anytime I open up Waze (my default Nav app on my MTCE), any audio playing becomes muted and stays muted. I used to have continuous audio when running Waze, except for if Waze had a direction or notification to give and then it would properly temporarily mute the audio. But now I get no music while having Waze on screen. If I go back to the radio app let's say, audio continues as usual.
If I run any other app (say Google Maps), I still get audio as per usual.
Anyone have any ideas?

Did this problem occur for you recently? It happened to me within the past week or so. Again, I don't think I have made any settings changes in that time period.

I think I found the fix in case anyone else is wondering.
Go to Settings>Car>Navigation and look for something along the lines of Navigation sound mode. There is a toggle for me that turns some kind of navigation sound monitoring on, and then that enables several options below. One of the options is like "switch" or something to that extent, and then you can play around with how much the radio lowers it's volume while the navigation is talking. I guess mine was somehow totally disabled and that's how I lost sound, but I have it back now.

I have two questions regarding my head unit looking for your help.
I've been using the head unit XTRONS PB78TRVP for almost one year on my VW and since new I have been noticing that I am unable to control the audio volume balanced with all the apps, specially while using the radio.
The issue is that while using broadcast radio, the audio volume is too high, not balanced with the rest of the multitasking applications running in parallel.
As an example, if the audio volume while playing a radio station is set two 4, the GPS application volume when pops an audio message can't be heard as the GPS application message is very low, even if the music from the radio is temperarly muted while audio played from GPS is being heard.
This behaviour is the same independent from what GPS application is being used.
Remembering that this is happening only when using the radio as if the music is being played from an MP3 list or CD/DVD, the audi volume is balanced with the rest of the applications (including phone).
This head unit has currently installed Android 8.0. Is it possible to be upgraded?

Hi. I have the same unit. Go to settings, Car setting, Factory settings and type 126 for the pin. This will take you to hidden settings where levels can be adjusted.

I've recently got a Seicane HU, specifically this one, with a quad core ARM Cortex-A35. I've used the steering wheel control app to learn all the buttons necessary. They all work work great with the radio and the BT music player. The only issue is that the next and previous track buttons on my steering wheel do not work when using Spotify while connected to Multiplay (Android Auto). I tried searching for a solution but only found that Spotify had an issues awhile back but it was fixed in an update.
Any possible leads?
