Where can I get the Watchmaker companion app? It doesn't show up on the galaxy store and the actual Watchmaker app says I need a companion app in order to send faces to my watch. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or if you can upload the companion apk, that would be amazing.

The only solution is "Download watchmaker companion watchface on watch http://apps.samsung.com/gear/appDetail.as?appId=slide.watchFrenzy" but that doesn't work for me. I was hoping for a direct apk if possible (the companion app is free as far as I know, I just don't know how to get it installed through galaxy app).
Update: Never mind, another forum post says it'll cost $3USD for the companion app. I don't mind paying that except I don't have the option to find it. I already have the paid Watchmaker app from Google Play, finding the Samsung companion is difficult.
For some odd reason, WatchMaker isn't available in some countries. You could try one of the free VPN's and see if that works.

Has anybody ever found a solution to this? In my country, the Galaxy app store only shows free apps and the watchmaker companion app is only available for payment through the Galaxy store. I have tried VPNs, registering the Galaxy store in the US but nothing works. I am ready to purchase the companion app but it is not available anywhere. I cannot use the watchmaker app on my Galaxy watch3 without it.
If anyone is still struggling with this the companion apk is available inside the phone apk under res/raw/android_wear_micro_apk.apk then you can adb install it over WiFi.

I think that works the same way it does on computers. Depending on your network.
So maybe there's a similar trick to bypass this as you can do with a computer using a proxy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE : Just had a look on Google and didn't find anything related to your specific problem but there are plenty of people having troubles with the market and the non-availability of some apps in their country. Some managed to solve this using a US-based VPN. Maybe you should try that.
Could try a proxy

The MoreLocale 2 app (available in the Play store) does exactly what you're looking for. I needed it to change from US(canada) to US(us) for the Amazon music app.
I have the APK's for an app. It will not work for me, can someone test if I e-mail them the APK? Or put it on my pogoplug?
Just need someone to see if the application will actually start and let them view the map.
Here is the APK

Why can't you test it yourself?
Also, it's a paid app, right ?

It doesn't work for me, I was having a lot of issues after updating to 4.2. I also just killed the ROM accidentaly at work
i have it. worked great for me.
Hi,
I tested my own Europe app and yours USA app. Both apps installed ok and worked once few minutes but now both apps are stopping at startup...
Officially these apps are not supported by Navionics for Nexus 7. So I don't know if there is a solution for this problem.
I can not wait for a working Philips Hue app. I am checking the Gear store every few days. A few have been added since but there are either issues with it working on and off or the Widget not working. I need the widget!
Also, a Samsung Multiroom speaker update for Tizen 4! I searched this up before getting the Galaxy Watch and it looks like there is one for Tizen 3 but nothing for Tizen 4 yet.... Boo
What are you waiting for?
Yeah, it's frustrating to see so many apps available for WearOS that are not available on Tizen. I have the LTE enabled Galaxy Watch and would love to be able to leave my phone behind at home sometimes and still have access to the functionality of my favorite apps. Hoping these app developers start getting us some content on Tizen! Here's my wish list: Alert360, Amazon Music, Uber, Lyft, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Skype, Skype for Business, Google Maps.

I thought I knew what I was getting in to when I bought the watch but with many devs not updating their apps, the app list for the Galaxy watch is less than the already sparse Gear S3!
The Spotify app is pretty good so my local music needs are fulfilled but apps like Skype, SfB and Uber would be an excellent addition to the watch.
WhatsApp, I can do with the replying to notifcations. I don't need to look through previous convos.
Google Maps, I paid £1 for a companion app. Works really well for turn by turn navigation. It dosn't give you the birds eye view but it guides very very well and hasn't failed me yet. Start a journey on Google Maps (On your phone) and it will auto start the compantion app on the watch. Its called "Gear Navigation". Free app for watch but paid app app on Google Play.
Having Uber on my wrist.. Might make it too easy!
I think there is an Uber app for Tizen now
Having just transferred from gear s3 to Galaxy watch, ALL my apps (and they are a lot) that were bought for the gear (tizen3) now work for Galaxy watch (tizen4). There is a Phillips hue app in the store and an Uber app too also for Galaxy watch. You may need to change your country store to USA to see them all (there is a topic for this under the gear forum). The Uber app only though works only with a Samsung phone.
I would like to get a podcast app.
Spotify don't have podcasts on the watch app.. Why, just why?..
Audible would be another app, then I can leave my phone @ home.
I believe Tizen has a bigger market share than WearOS now, surely developers will notice?
I talked with customer service at Audible.
They have an app for the apple watch.
I sugested that they make an app for the Galaxy watch too.
They thanked me and forwarded the request.
If there are more Audible customers here, it will probably help if you did the same.
Chat with them here: https://www.audible.com/contactus?n1=something_else&n2=other
Is there any application that I can use for remotely turn on or off Wi-Fi, flash light, sound... On my Samsung device from my Galaxy watch? I think there was some application on Gear S3 but I cannot remember how it calls....

That's the one I looking for. Thanks ?
Personally, I just want an app that stores notification history so that I can access old messages. There is 1 old app called NWS that does this but it drains the watch battery like MAD (5% per hour just from this app).
I am getting so frustrated by the lack of this simple feature that I will either make the app myself or return the watch.

I can't seem to find how to change my store country to US. Can you give me a link or tell me how I can do it? There are two apps which I want from the US country store: Spotify and Twitter Trends.

Hi, please see below, this is one of the several threads on the subject, basically you need a vpn app on your phone to produce a US IP address and the Sim card removed:

Thanks. I've tried it as you said without the sim card and it worked flawlessly. All that's left now is to find more apps to download

Is there a way to extract the wachfaces from my Galaxy s7 and transfer them to my new S9? Because some of the watchfaces I have are no longer in the apps store so they don't show up on my new phone.
It should show in my apps section of galaxy store

they don't. That is my issue.. They do on my old phone but not in my new phone because they are no longer in the apps store. When I search for that specific title it can't find it. And when i send myself the link and open it it says this app is no longer available.
Good Evening everyone.
How is it possible to do this?
Thanks.
Can you more explain?
From Firmware files?
Or you wish to attach or connect your Galaxy Watch device with Computer... and dump... """backup""" something?
Best Regards
Is there root yet I'm new to this sdb I've done developer mode sdb connected to watch it's confusing on xda so many watch names lol
I'm confused at what you are asking, if you are looking to make custom watch faces there is a software for that in order to do it. If you are looking to backup, the only current way I know of this is using a Samsung Account and having that control your app and file backups for the watch. As for installing third-party apks, first you need to enable unknown sources in the watch settings and then you can adb push the apk through cmd prompts to wifi upload it or use an app like Apps2fire to push the app to the watch through wifi, but will have to use a file manager on the watch to install it that way and it doesn't require a pc. Hope I was able to at least answer one of your questions.
Good info! Your saying use adb from pc... right? What file manager u recommend?
why use extra app set up sdb_home path in environment variables so you can use anywhere on pc I use power shell windows 10 not the best but I can easily turn Bluetooth off contact to same wifi as PC use sdb connect iport to root send files pull files learn it's harder to understand Amazon app on watch

I found this playing with watch tapping open source in settings doing the dial codes under hidden menu youll get this fast I did this will help https://developer.tizen.org/development/tizen-studio/web-tools/running-and-testing-your-app/sdb

I put the platform tools 28.1 extracted over the adb in c:/ also downloaded sdb command tools to same place set environment so powershell will run easier to drag app location if I can help just ask I'll do the same

Not specifically to backup, but only to extract the applications (.wgt) or the watch faces of the Galaxy Watch.
watch faces has a thread very easy to do go to your watch find about watch in settings find open source license click it and it tells you basic setup to sdb pull file if that's what you mean

Is this method possible for galaxy watch? And can you explain how to push apk thru apps2fire app
I have gear sport with a certain app on it that for some reason when restoring a backup from it to my new galaxy watch that app doesn't install.
The store now shows it as a pay app which it was free when i got on my sport. Trying to figure a way to export it from my sport to my galaxy watch. Is there a method?

You could try pulling the .tpk through SDB on the gear sport, then installing it to the Galaxy Watch through SDB
after signing it.

Is there anywhere that I can read how to do what you mentioned. I tried to pull what I thought was the app and I got some file but I was not able to install it onto my device and it did not have a tpk name to it.
how can I figure out which file to Paul via ADB from my gear Sport and how would I sign it and install it onto my Galaxy watch. Links to any tutorials or anybody providing instructions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry I'm posting so late to this thread but with the Galaxy Watch 5 pro coming out I'm considering switching to it from my Galaxy Watch 3. As other users have mentioned, I would like to transfer my tizen based watch faces to Wear OS. These have all been downloaded from the Galaxy Play Store. A user, ecmompton59, mentioned a thread that told how to do this but I don't know where to find it. Any help would be *greatly* appreciated. Thanks!
