Hello Everyone,
There is a very excellent forum topic for Linux on the Universal (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=251584). I was wondering if we could start a similar one for the Blue Angel. I recently installed Opie II (Qtopia) on my Blue Angel from http://www.linuxtogo.org/~htcpxa/ and it looks good, I was just wondering what the status was.
Thank you,
Tim
Hmmm, this looks interesting.
So from my reading of the Universal thread and the scant txt files I have found do I take it you copy the Haret and image files to the root of your sd card and then run haret?
Looks easy... too easy!
Steve
I have tried to start linux with different linux images on my blue angel but without success.
Maybe linux couldn't run with windows mobile 6 pro on blueangel ?
harat cans start but X-Windows (and Opie ...) freezes. Does anyone have the same experiences ?
Which files do I need to copy to the SD card? There is a .rar.gz file, do I need to extract that file in my computer? Thanks.
i haved used some images from here:
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/autobuild/htcblueangel/
zImage-2.6.21-hh20-r6-htcblueangel.bin
and it works.
But there is no wifi driver loaded.
My question is how can i insert/load wifi driver to this image ?
http://www.algepop.net/users/alge/angstrom-ba/images/htcblueangel/
it works.
But linux seems slower as windows mobile.

linux is only the kernel. GPE seems to be slower than wince.
Try qtopia, it writes directly to the framebuffer, so it is the
fastest linux phone GUI.

Any way to install Linux on the BA without a Linux PC? I'd like to try Linux but I only have a Windows Vista PC
Problem with Qtopia not Recognizing SIM
Hello Everyone,
I loaded Qtopia on my BA and it works pretty good, but it doesn't recognize the SIM card and it says "No Modem Connection" and "No VoIP Connection." Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks,
Tim

The same happens to me, but phone works OK for this build whith GPE "http://www.algepop.net/users/alge/an.../htcblueangel/"
Log as root and start "Phone" app (is gomunicator).
I tried Qtopia (http://www.linuxtogo.org/~htcpxa/) and GPE. GPE seems more intuitive for me.
Hi, there!
I already tried everthing to get my phone workin but still get no success
I think there is a problem with my audio cause it mostly even plays no sound
i already tried booting with haret while playing a sound or maybe its a wm6 problem?
maybe anyone knows?!

newest gpe based soft doesn't allow calling. Starting gomunicator it says 'cannot open connection to phone module in /dev/ttyS0: permission denied'.
I've been trying and searching for the correct /dev/ttySx, but none of them seem to work.
Anyone using a working gpe setup, where gomunicator works?
Can you let me know where to set what config option?
Thanks!

/dev/ttyS0 is correct for the GSM
You need to apply some patches and changes that you can see at http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/BlueAngelHowtoInstallLinux , section "Some setup hints"
See below ...
The phone speaker will be silent during calls until you set the mixer settings of "Output Mux" to "Mixer", either via alsamixer or by using a proper /etc/asound.state file (eg. http://www.algepop.net/users/alge/angstrom-ba/asound.state).
Even with a correct /etc/asound.state file you have to restore that state before running the phone application (tested with gomunicator):
/etc/init.d/alsa-state start
It seems that after a suspend/resume cycle the mixer value needs to be set again.
If you dont run gpe as root (by creating a user on the first startup), you have no access to the serial device /dev/ttyS0. fix this by adding group "dialout" to addgroups line of /etc/gpe/gpe-login.conf so that it contains:
addgroups audio,video,dialout
Please, let us to know if it works for you.
I'm considering to prepare an installation with the Albrecht's patches ( http://www.algepop.net/users/alge/angstrom-ba/images/htcblueangel/ ) and put it on some server. It's the BA Linux that worked better for me.
Searching posts, it seems that cr2 and goxboxlive has more experience on this port.
Hi,
I just upload a new version with phone support + some tools. Phone support is still in developpement ( phone call/receive works, but only sms receive works ) GPRS is working too. Just change your current GPRS profile password and DNS.
I'll try to upload later an image like it is done on HTC Unviersal with an autoinstall.
http://linuxtogo.org/~htcpxa/htcblueangel/Qtopia.
Notice that actually this works fine on Blueangel Board ID 5.
To remember what is your board id please look here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BlueangelBoardIDs or just start linux image and look at cat /proc/cpuinfo.
And to finish Qtopia is faster than Windows Mobile
Good luck
Fabrice
Hi Fabrice.
I tested your build. It's really great and fast, thanks!
I have some questions: when I make/receive calls I can ear the other part but I need to cry to the microphone if I want that the other part ears me. You noticed something similar?
Also I don't know how to suspend/resume with this version. With algepop's GPE it worked (sometimes) for me.
My board id is 0x5

I think qtopia is not sending some AT command to the phone which adjusts the mic gain.

Yes, microphone need some attention, need to look at it. Have to look like cr2 say around AT command.
For your suspend issue it is because Qtopia is set to shutdown alone after some seconds by default, just look in Settings-> LIgh icon -> battery and set greater value.
Actually i don't know why power button as no effect for suspend. Anyway it works to power on device after suspend just press it and be carefull to check if your backlight settings are ok ( i do this mistake many times ).
In next version i just add support for messenging system and try to look at power button too.
regards
Fabrice
I'd love to try Qtopia on my BA, but I'm running Vista on my laptop...not Linux...is there any other way to do this from Windows?
Since 1st time I rebooted my phone (even before I had my friend Root and flash Blazer 4.0,) my Samsung Epic 4G touch would play this Phone ring tone titled " minimal tone " that is a major annoyance and I cant find the file or source to delete or
change the settings. This occurs only when I reboot the phone. Btw- my actual phone ringtone is NOT set to this tone. I thought maybe a music player/media player was at fault. ( where I could delete the app ). And even after doing complete wipe prior to flashing Blazer 4.0, it still plays this tone. As i said, this tone existed prior to rooting or Flashing rom.
I thought there might be a way to extract and delete this file-
Please send me detailed info on how and where I can correct this. I even took phone to Sprint ( preroot/rom ) and they had no clues.. the tone will play for 3-5 minutes. please people- help me out.( I hope its not a defect,)
You need root access to remove the start up tone. I think all the ROMs for this phone have it removed by default though.
administrative access- tone file delete
phone is rooted- I just dont know how to find this particular file/tone and delete it and/or change settings
I believe its located in system/media/video/shutdown
File found
THANKS ! was under system/media/audio/ringtones/minimal tone and de-leted !!!,,, next- I will have to see if the system plays any other tone by some strange systematic replacement
or if it will simply be muted as desired. I searched in the great app ROM TOOLBOX,,root browser ( paid version ) and Voila !
anomoly continues
Need Expert assistance-
The tone itself was deleted- I rebooted phone 3-4 times since , changing boot animation and font change ( using rom toolbox )
but was shocked when on the 5th reboot the dreaded sound played !! but when I looked in the file of ringtones- its gone !
What the heck ?? please give ideas and help.
Hello everyone.
I have 2 problems with LineageOS on Oneplus One.
First HDR does not work properly. I can not do a photo with HDR enabled.
My another problem is with WIFI. Many times I have lost connection to internet without report, and I must reconnect manually. My phone is connected to router but without internet. It is very annoying problem for me.
I fashed:
lineage-14.1-20170206-nightly-bullhead-signed.zip,
Gapps Android 7.1/Lineage os ARM Pico ( other did not work because of low free space of disk. I have 50 gb free. Weird )
Latest Super Su.zip
I flashed them all at once. Was it good idea? Or I should flash them separately ?
Of course I did clean wipe before installation and Wipe Dalvik, cache after installation.
Thanks for replies
I have the same problem with the wifi... i don't know if it is a firmware / modem problem... i have this version: "2015_05-15_DI.3.0.c6-00241"
The camera problem its reported and with be resolved in the future...
And another problem. My phone has not been detected by computer. I can not transfer music
Any idea to solve it? There is an icon "eject MTTP" but no folder with phone on my computer.
File transfer is not working, but photo is working. Weird
I solved problem with the wifi. Just instal the latest room
Hi.
I don't why this worked for me or if it might even work for you, but what I did was locate the following file 'wpdmtp' in C:\Windows\INF.
I right-clicked on it and updated it.
Suddenly, my PC recognised my Lumia 535, even though if I try to update the driver I still get the same error.
Well, as long as my phone shows up, I don't really care. Hope that helps.

Hello, good people
I have few serious issues with my phone. This one is not well supported, and I've made mistakes...
>Unlocked bootloader
>stuck in bootloop, but I have fixed it (badly..) by flashing fresh 7.1 ROM, with no MTK nvram backup...
>Installed TWRP (disappears all the time after next boot)
>lost IMEI (no SIM connection and red sign "*chineese* KEY" in right corner). I have my IMEI numbers on phone box, but in "MTK Enginering Mode" there is no CDS in "Connectivity" menu...
Please...
-Is there any working tutorial, with working links on how to flash everything completly from the begining?
OR
-is there a way to fix IMEI numbers
-remove the red sign in right corner
-fix TWRP to not uninstall every boot, also TWRP can't access internal storage or SD card. So I cant install SuperSU and root.
Please, if someone will at least push me forward a bit, I will be really happy. I am trying to solve it for two days now. THere is not even a service in my area which I could pay to do it... Please, I am lost now
In case someone will end up here looking for answers, flashing this software solves all issues:

You do know that the persist.img is device specific right? Meaning you need your own persist.img to restore it. You cannot use someone else's. That's exactly why there is a whole thread already covering this.

Persist.img file is only a system file while is not technically a hardware . So as boot img and other image work for the others then obivously persist.img also should work like a charm as we are only using 2 folders 'DATA' folder and the 'ENGINEERMODE' . I have realized few things for some people this is not working as there are some file missing from their persist.img. Check the image for file comparision .
Well I'll be damned. Interesting.

Have a brand new guide that may help you buddy. Give it a shot.
Thanks to the OP if it does, it'll be a first I've seen if it does.
@kemesh he's got a borked fingerprint.
Should be a good test.
@kemesh @dladz This worked for me. I was able to register a fingerprint. (Side note: before I followed this guide, I did the fingerprint calibration and I kept my finger ON the sensor for the Black rubber test. The test failed as was the case when I followed the other guide, however, this time around I only had 2 red lines vs having pages worth of red lines. Did this play a role in making the fingerprint sensor work?)
In any case, I was hoping that fixing the fingerprint sensor may fix my Wifi and Bluetooth as well (both cannot be turned on). Unfortunately, Wifi and Bluetooth are still not working on my phone, buy hey, progress is progress!

AHH I'm gutted for you dude, I still believe that it can be fixed.
Have you backed up your EFS partition? Also now that you have a functional fingerprint reader get it backed up.
Perhaps reach out to OnePlus and see if there's anything that they can offer remotely.
Also my experience with RMA has been amazing from sending to receiving was 4 days.
I am based in the UK so it may vary but I'd imagine OnePlus would want to have a certain standard they'd like to adhere to, at least by reaching out you can get the information.
I'm at a loss in regards to WiFi and Bluetooth now.
It must be lower level but I've never heard of what it may be. Will look into it for you but I've drawn a blank offhand.

Wifi and bluetooth never work unfortunately. I've tried MSM to get me to 10.5.4 and 11.0.2.2, nothing helps. It might be a hardware problem. Taking a short break from all of this, I've done about 20-30 flashes/resets... in the past few days. It's tiring. Thanks for this guide, the other one didn't work for me.

Oh no problem, I'm absolutely open to new ideas. Unfortunately, I have no mac address/address for wifi/bluetooth.
Just because you mentioned it, I decided to go back in with *#808# and on the last page I found a test called Check CTSFingerPrint. At the top it says This check can only be performed after the CTS test is passed. There's a button below that reads CHECK CTSFINGERPRINT. When I click it, it immediately prints the following below the button: fingerprint check failed! it need connect to internet secure property check pass! I'll have another look but I couldnt' find this CTSFINGERPRINT Test, and also, I currently have a fingerprint registered. Anyone have any clues?
Thanks again for this guide! Fixed 1/3 of my problems.
