[Q] What partition does clockword mod make?

What partition does clockword mod make?
Because im thinking of partitioning with it.
As far as I know it only reformats your partitions. To create others you'll have to use fastboot / other hboot with S-OFF.
CWM does not offer partitioning. At least not 2.5.0.7.
But for making partitions a partition manager is always recommended - Gparted, Easeus, Mini Partition toll etc.

[Q] Two ext4 partitions ?

Hi. I'm about to install a new rom on my HTC Desire, and the developer says i need to partition my SD card like this :
*******************
But the first thing you'll have to do is repartitioning your sd card (I suggest 4ext or you can use clockworkmod recovery) like this:
1st partition fat32 xyMB
2nd partition - sd-ext - ext4 - 768MB (the 1st ext that recovery will ask you)
3rd partition - sd-ext2 - ext4 - 256MB (the 2nd ext that recovery will ask you)
NO SWAP!!!
You can use different values for sd-ext partitions, but ext proportion HAS TO BE 3:1 (like my suggestion 768:256)!!!
*******************
I flashed Clockworkmod recovery and i dont have an option in there to create 768 size partition and i really dont know how to create 2 ext4 partitions. So how do i do it ? I would really be greatful for any help here. Thank you.
4EXT Recovery Touch should be your recovery (check my sig).
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
All you need to do is to
1. Download and install 4EXT Recovery Updater, and launch it.
2. It will ask for root access, which you must grant.
3. After granting it root access you can use it to download and flash 4EXT Recovery. You must have an internet connection for this.
4. The recovery updater app will now download 4EXT Recovery and flash it on your device, replacing the older CWM Recovery you have currently, it's that simple.
there you will find the option to create 2 ext partitions.
guess i have to install some rom first so i can get 4ext, i couldn't find an image file to flash it otherwise. On it now. Thanks.

Thank you all, you've been very helpful. I've flashed 4ext and pratitioned the SD card, my phone took ages to start, so finally i've installed the rom, gonna try it out now. Thank you all again ! Cheers.
Glad to know that your problem is solved. enjoy your new rom.

[help needed] unable to restore nandroid backup after repartitioning ext sd

hi
i have a wildfire s )s-on_ hboot unlocked running hensmod7 rom, when i installed the rom it had something like 78something MB as secondary partition and link2sd accepts only when i select fat16/32 from the start menu.
i recently repartitioned the sd to ext4 (and to ext2 later) and linux swap, when i try to restore the nandroid backup, process completes but when the phone restarts it stays on the main boot animation of the rom.
when i data reset from cwm recovery menu + del cache + del delvik, Then it restarts as a new blank phone running hensmod7 fine.
so the basic problem is getting the nandroid to restore on the phone.
Any suggestions?
btw my cwm version is same as when the backups are being made.

I think you just need to reflash the recovery. After that follow the other instructions on hensemod thread to install properly. While partitioning use minitool. Make 3 partitions: fat32, 512-2gb ext2/4, 418-512 mb linux swap in that order, make all of them primary partitions.
If this doesn't solve the problem I think Ur mmc is corrupted. Or U could also use data2sd it may also be that that U dont understand the process of using link2sd.

i am pretty sure that recovery is just as good as a fresh apple .... as i have restored before ( with success off course) but the moment i repartitioned the mmc and changed it to ext4 and later to ext2 (for testing) then system stucks on boot animation, even after successful restore.
Why can't people see a q&a section where questions are to be asked?
Which Rom are you using? Wipe data and other stuff first, then flash the zip of the rom, then use advanced restore to restore only data and sd-ext

Pixel 3xl f2fs/ext4 question

Is It supposed to be normal? Shouldn't It be formatted to f2fs?
try diskinfo from the play store
if it still hows EXT4
run the april factory image with flash-all.bat
then once complete go to bootloader (make sure locked bootloader) and format /data
boot into factory recovery, and read the recovery logs, will tell you exactly how each partition is formatted.

System Image Partition

When flashing custom roms, I noticed we never touch system image partition which take up about 3GB of space. What exactly is system image partition for? Is this related to A/B (seamless) system update feature? If I have no intention to go back to MIUI, can system image partition be removed to free up space? Does any custom rom use A/B system update when flashing updates?
