Hey,
Just wondering if any theme/customisation are working on the OOS pie?
Nothing seems to be working for me. It build and installs the overlay but I see no change.
Thanks,

Yes, is working. You must build and install the overlays, then restart your Phone.. Then open substratum, Manager, and select all overlays, and activate your all select overlays

Use magisk 17.3 and substratum 1010. It should work. (Ofcourse with root)
works perfectly here swift black and pitch black theme. build and enable then reboot goto manager tab and enable all thats it.
That's for the help veryone! I've never used substratum before this, it's all working now
Any other recommendations for themes that work on pie OOS?

Just a heads up for anyone that wasn't aware, this has been released now and appears to be working on my device - xXx 3.8 with stock kernel and magisk.

Make sure you install the zip via recovery first, then install the xposed installer apk otherwise it doesn't function correctly!
Currently testing amplify but I think some other modules such as greenify need some updating to function correctly.
Hope it helps some of you, and please don't forget to share any tips you have :good:
Does xposed works fine with stock OxygenOs on op5?
Has anyone tested it??

I have just installed,it's all good so far
Can´t get it to work. Only ends up in reboot everytime I tries to open Magisk Manager, any mod or Xposed app....
works fine here, greenify module not working but no issues with xposed itself, booted fine!
boot took a while after flashing the sdk
amplify won't shoe any services or wakelocks, guess all the apps need to be updated by the devs
oos 4.5.11
xposed sdk25
arm64
magisk 14.0
Working OOS with SU. Boot takes a bit longer.

Have you tried removing magisk completely, then reapply it ? I'm gonna try with Magisk 14.2 in a few but 14.0 is working great as of now.
Update : took me a few tries but I'm now on 4.5.12, Magisk 14.2 and Xposed. (Safety Net now failing but that was expected and if I am not mistaken unfixable at the moment )
If anyone needs it, I can post my steps though it's nothing fancy:laugh:

How did you get it work? I've 4.5.12 (Freedom OS 1.9), Magisk 14.0 . Apps only work for the first time. For example, when i install "Lockscreen Mod", after the first reboot, the app works, after the second reboot, it doesn't work. Anyone else got this problem? I've got Franco Kernel installed, is that a problem? What are the correct steps to install Xposed V88 Arm64 on the Oneplus 5? If i install Magisk 14.2, the phone doesn't boot anymore.

I just installed the modified apk from topjohnwu and afterwards the sdk25 (v88) thru magisk 14.0
Framework successfully recognized, though I haven't installed any modules yet. Gonna wait a few days for most of them to be updated.
Boot took around 1 minute. Phone is super responsive and fast as usual (fastlane 35)

Because first I want to know the feedback from other users.
For me substratum themes doesnt work on latest stock. Has anibody same problem?
I think if you google you might be able to find Pixel Oreo wallpaper/launchers that could help you customize it a bit. I just use Pixel wallpapers of Lagos or somewhere that I found a half year ago. I no longer use their customization as I found it lagged things a tad. But that experience was on a past Pixel experience ROM (7.x, I believe) when I then adapter to other custom ROMs.

How? When i install layers nothing hapens.
They need to be enabled after installation... Choose manager and then 'change overlay states'... I'm on stock, no root, with Andromeda
I've recently noticed this trying to apply substratum themes since i updated to Android Pie. None of the overlays compiles or applies. No overlays in manager either. Most times compiling does not even give any errors. I've tried most themes that claim Android 9.0 support.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this issue?

Ah. Yeah version 1001 doesn't work on the P2XL. Uninstall the one you have, reboot, then use the one in the link. Also, when you build your overlays, select "build and update" then reboot, then enable them in substratum manager. Pitch Black works great. Be careful with the others especially when themeing system and system UI, they can shut your UI down. Pitch Black works on everything though :good:

Rooted of course ... But it's luck still apparently.
Same here as well.
Android 9 rooted
Flash kernel.
Substratum v1001
Multiple themes don't work. They appear to apply but the apps are not themed.
Working for me, Pie, Magisk v17.1, Flash Kernel, using Substratum v998. Are you doing Build and Enable, then rebooting, then toggling the overlay state? I'm using Ethereal for System (Pie support) and Swift Dark for some apps.

1001 working correctly here, on top of it being themed. 998 worked correctly here even when themed, so substratum itself likely isn't the issue. What theme are you using?
yeah im using 1001 fine aswell but 998 worked with a restart and 1001 doesnt even need a restart anymore. Try PitchBlack
Just updated from 998 to 1001, so far everything working as expected.. lets hope it stays that way!
Hey everyone
I just installed the December security patch.
Now that I have installed substratum, I can't find the installed overlays in the Overlay Manager. Tried themes like Swift dark and other themes. It still doesn't work.
Also I've updated the magisk manager to version 18.0 today.
Anyone facing the same issue with their device?
I'm using Pixel 2 XL
SOLVED: New substratum update available on play store.

Substratum is not compatible with the new Magisk 18. As far as I know, a new version is worked on right now. You either have to wait or use Magisk 17.3.

I just can't stand the white pages everywhere; it drives me both blind and crazy, so I'll stick to 17.3 for the time being.
Yeah I can confirm latest Magisk 18 breaks Substratum, so either stay on 17.3 or deal with being blinded by white backgrounds. Tbh I'm really surprised Google hasn't managed to figure out a way to actually turn all white backgrounds either grey or black, Samsung a has actually done it before them with the new OneUI lol
Shame on you Google.

This explains the difficulties I was having getting some overlays to work. Thank you
Try flashing Magisk 18 in the Magisk manager app itself instead of in twrp, I was having problems gaining root until I did that. I'm currently on ver 18 with Substratum working.
There is a new update available for substratum on the Google play. I hope this resolves the issue.
Edit: It's working fine now.

Thats how I installed mine and Substratum still broke.
Anyways that's a moot point now, new Substratum release on Play Store fixes the problem.

Even with Substratum taken out of the equation, I was having problems getting root with Magisk 18 until I flashed within Magisk app and chose recommended install option.
I'm on December update, have latest substratum after fresh install of latest update from Google. Magisk 17.1
I can compile a theme and they all show. When I restart and then try and change overlay state, it tells me to compile first ??!! Any idea

Having trouble with certain overlays not installing since updating to January patch, worked before with Substratum 1015 and Magisk 18 but now having issues again. No Swift Black overlays I'm using work, most but not all of my PBO overlays are being applied.
Anyone any info or getting the same?

No I've never used the Magisk module before now and everythings worked okay ? will try using the module see if it helps. Thanks for replying.
The module is not for Oreo or later but uninstalling and reinstalling substratum helped with the PBO theme but appears Swift Black is still borked. At least I've found the culprit.
