[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Lineage 14.1 Manta [NEXUS10][17DEC2019][MONTHLY] - Nexus 10 Android Development

This is a continuation from @followmsi 's work.
I'm skipping 90% of words here because if you are here I assume you know what you are doing. And you can either Google, use the search button, or ask.
This rom is provided as is because I use it as a daily driver and I think Nougat is the best point between Performance and Battery life and everything else for Manta(Nexus 10)
I will continue to support Manta for this ROM until it is truly EOL for Nougat for LOS.
Disclaimer:
Not responsible for any injuries you do to yourself or your device being damaged caused by this ROM.

Instructions:
1. Flash ROM
2. Flash Gapps (I use opengapps PICO)
3. Reboot to OS
4. Profit?
5. Reboot to Recovery to install Magisk (Optional)

Fixed headphone jack not working.
Jan Security Patch

I can confirm this LineageOS 14.1 is so much smoother than LineageOS 15.1. It will be the definitive firmware on my Nexus 10 before I buy a new tablet.

I've been using the 14.1 @followmsi developed and can also confirm that it runs well. Many thanks to @KiD3991 for continuing the good work!

Nothing too much going on, just a regular update.
Scrolling is slightly improved though

Works like a charm. Will keep my nexus 10 alive for the next years. TNX a lot.
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 10 mit Tapatalk

how did you install it?
I keep getting error 7, then do the fix taking out "the line" ans still keep getting errors saying its a worng zip, btw, it was edited with visual studio code and zipped with 7z but zipped like a .zip.
Any idea how to fix this?
Almost forgot, got twrp(twrp-3.2.3-0-manta) on it

Just want to say thanks and I agree, 14.1 is best.

Hi, reverted to Nougat from LOS 16 after some month, as this ROM is way more smooth and some apps do work here (FB video, VNC viewer), which didn't on LOS 16.
Thanx to @KiD3991 and @followmsi for your contributions to keep the N10 alive! :good:
Bye pottendo

GAPPS does not install.
I have installed ROM successfully. I installed GAPPS without any errors, but when restarting the gapps they are not there.

The installation of the GAPPS is made successfully without any errors. Despite of this, when I restart the system, GAPPS is not there.
Thank you very much pottendo

Decryption unsuccessful?
After booting it asks for a password with a page after saying decryption unsuccessful and that i should do a factory reset but doing so doesn't help
(NM I forgot i changed the partition format)

New Update(Finally)
I apologize as I am transitioning a big part of my life, moving towns and trying to graduate whilst doing so. Not to mention my two jobs.
But I am back!

What's slow about 15.1? I installed both 14.1 and 15.1 and 15.1 Android Oreo actually seems smoother/faster for me

I don't know, LineageOS 14.1 has definitely been smoother than 15.1 on my Nexus 10. Maybe I should have tried F2FS with LineageOS 15.1.

Nexus 10 is quite aged, but the processor is undoubtedly best of its time.
@followmsi asked me to continue on 15.1 . I am willing to help out though if you want to.

I will update my thread in the next days.
Thanks for taking over and publishing regular lineage-15.1 builds for our old but lovely Nexus 10 device !

About LineageOS
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device. LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.

Google Apps can be found at http://opengapps.org/?api=6.0&variant=pico - beware that only the pico version will fit, unless you change your partition sizes! Also, starting from M, it's recommended to install gapps before the initial boot so the permissions are properly set up.
Bugs:
- Sometimes, quiet speaker pop sounds can be heard at the beginning and/or end of some audio streams (ie. touch sounds - the workaround is to disable them). For some reason, this isn't affecting everyone.
- Report back anything else you find which isn't listed here
FAQ:
Does this ROM supports F2FS?
- Yes, on /data and /cache - although /cache F2FS support might get removed in the future, as it's worthless.
Does this ROM uses DDK 1.9?
- Yes, with all the camera issues (ie. pink lines, rare crashes) resolved.
Why does the initial boot take so long, and where are my live wallpapers?!
- To make room on the system partition for the (bigger) M gapps packages, I had to sacrifice dexpreopt and the live wallpapers. This can result in pretty long initial boots or upgrade boots, and dexpreopt might run during the first time setup wizard as well, slowing down the system for an additional couple minutes.
Will you release newer ZMoD builds or something?
- Yes, as soon as the memory optimizations are finalized and I find enough time...

You are a king!
Running on it for 1 hour, and already impressed... WOW !!!
Works perfectly
Works great! No problems at all and have been running it for 3hrs. Have xposed also installed. Great work!
I will continue to use and report any bugs i encounter.
great...Testing this rom right now. I had to rewipe, since installing gapps after the rom boot cause google play service to crash. I really wish there will be an official cm13 for galaxy nexus.I have a nexus 5 but I like galaxy nexus design and amoled screen...
Edit: this ROM runs very well, maybe a little better than other ones based on marshmallow
How much free ram? Is it 802mbytes or 762?in cn 12.1 there was a kernel boot img by zuyan that gave 802 mbytes of ram
Good job @Ziyan
Please guys, can anyone link me that kernel? I can't find it
Need suggestion, rootexplorer shown no root on this rom, how do i.
I try to flash ROM with TWRP, then fix root permission. @Ziyan could you please create this ROM support CWM.

No, but I attached a new kernel which has 811 mb userspace ram available (instead of the usual 756 mb). I think the crashes and tiler out of memory problems are gone, but report back if there's one single camera/camcorder crash happening
EDIT: the transition from the bootloader logo (google logo) to the boot animation won't be.. uhm... smooth, but it's nothing to worry about, I forgot to work it around this time

Using the zImage on any DDK 1.9 / Android 6.0.1 ROM should be fine.
There is no git commit because I didn't push it yet (the values aren't final), but to get the same kernel I uploaded:
Clone https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_kernel_samsung_tuna/tree/cm-13.0, and apply this, but with the following values:
CONFIG_ION_OMAP_TILER2D_SIZE=72
CONFIG_ION_OMAP_IPU_MEM_IOBUFS_SIZE=32

Enable root the same way you did it on CM12.1: enable developer settings, then you'll find the root option there. And just forget about CWM... don't use fix permissions and friends, as it might cause problems.

[ROM][7.1.1] Unofficial CyanogenMod/LineageOS 14.1 for Nexus 9

So... CyanogenMod is dead. LineageOS is taking it's place. The ROM is basically CyanogenMod but with changes to the name.
This is completely 'stock' from their source code, so this will encrypt your tablet, and will be prerooted (under Developer options in Settings)
Changelog is available at LineageOS Gerrit
There are no apparent bugs, but any bug reports will be welcome.
Gapps are available at opengapps.org.
Installation
Flash the latest 7.1.1 vendor image in fastboot (fastboot flash vendor vendor.img)
Download latest release from here
Install it in TWRP recovery
Install the downloaded opengapps package

Hi,
Sorry there was no note attached to the build about this. I purposely removed this so that I could pass safety net by default on the ROM.
If you would like root instead of Android Pay, you can try either SuperSU or Magisk with phh's superuser. If you use Magisk hide, you should be able to get root while passing safety net.
Again, sorry about not noting this, I'll make sure I do later today.
Hi,
If you take a look at the download page, I've now added the reason root was and still will be removed. I've also posted a link to the vendor image and latest bootloader. I would recommend downloading the bootloader from Google themselves if possible. The newest source code for the Nexus 9 device tree has been merged into my GitHub however hasn't made it's way into the latest build (20161205). It will be in 06's build.
Sorry about the poor communication regarding root and the likes

That's probably because this is built for the non-LTE version of the Nexus 9. I'm gonna try and add flounder_lte to my build system tonight. I'll post a build sometime tonight or tomorrow if that's okay?

Btw LTE works on CM13 and stock rom, so it's definately not the device. I'm looking forward for your build but i don't need LTE on my nexus 9 the next 4 days. So don't stress yourself :good:

It's fine! Runs smooth like the non-LTE-version but LTE works! Nice
I tried your builds for 13th and 14th of December (WITH LTE) and they all don't get a LTE signal. Also no sim-toolkit installed and no APN-Settings.
I stay with your first LTE-Build, it's fine!
@hazzer: Thanks for your work on the Nexus 9. Any plans to support the official flounder builds?

[Answer] Experimental Build Installation Guide (For Those Who Have Missed It).

I Have Seen Some People That Has Missed The Guide About The Lineage OS (LOS) Experimental Installation So I Made This Thread.
Lineage OS Experimental Is For Those Who Doesn't Want To Wipe Their Data (Ect: Installed Apps, Media And More) As You Need To Do With To The LOS Nightly Build. (It Is NOT Recommended To Dirty Flash The Nightly).
DO NOT TRY TO INSTALL LOS 13.0 ON TOP OF CM 14.1!!!
Guide For CM 13/14.1 Official Build To LOS 13/14.1 Official Build:
Install On Recovery Mode:
1. Download LOS 14.1 Experimental And Nightly For Your Device.
(If You Downloaded Them On PC Then Just Transfare The ZIP Files To Your Phone).
2. Go To Recovery.
3. Do A Full Back Up.
4. Install LOS 14.1 Experimental (Do Not Wipe).
5. Reboot To System.
6. Reboot To Recovery.
7. Install LOS 14.1 Nightly (Do Not Wipe).
8. Reboot To System (DONE!!).
Or Just To Be Safe (If The ROM Where Working Correctly).
9. Reboot To Recovery.
10. Do Another Back Up.
(Number 3, 9 And 10 Is Just To Be On The Safe Side).
P.S. Experimental Options Will Be Removed In Approx 2 Months!
If You Want Root On Your Device Then Just Download The Super SU From Lineage OS Extras And Install It In Recovery.
Guide If Needed:
1. Download The Correct Super SU For Your Device.
2. Reboot To Recovery.
3. Go To Install.
4. Select The Super SU ZIP File.
5. Install.
6. DONE!!
(You Can Do A Back Up After The Installation If You Want To).

Yes it should be OTAs. But I cannot promise because I am not working with Lineage OS.
When I installed the Lineage OS 14.1 Experimental on my OP2 then when I rebooted to system after the flash then I got a notification about an update and that update was Lineage OS 14.1 Nightly so I think that it should be OTA updates in the future.

You can delete the storage check in the installer script. Did it before and worked fine. I'm gonna try it tonight with this build.
Update: Stucked in bootloop. Gonna try tommorow again.
Update#2: Here is my working solution:
1. Flashing rom
2. Flashing addonsu
3. Flashing openGapps micro
Whats the perception about the Lineage<color>Accent.apks ?
They seemed to compromise my device and after removing these system aps
my find7 starts twice as fast as before.
In Settings->Apps they are all active but do nothing and their names are renamed like kakao lavendel kirsche carbon...
I'dont know whats this about,
but I feel Hacked and compromised by these apks!
Please explain what these apks are good for
and why it is stated in Settings->Apps that they do nothing else as being in background active
nor is anything protokollised from their activity!
I did a clean fresh install with these Custom Rom,
wiping all partitions and installing them with TWRP 3.2.2.0
With best regards Zoltan-X
P.S.: Find7 works better without these and no Errors are caused in usage so far!!!

nor is anything protokollised from their activity!
I did a clean fresh install with these Custom Rom,
wiping all partitions and installing them with TWRP 3.2.2.0
With best regards Zoltan-X
P.S.: Find7 works better without these and no Errors are caused in usage so far!!!

Are you serious? These are just simple apks for the styles you can change from display settings.
If you are so curious about "being hacked" look at the source: https://github.com/LineageOS/android_packages_overlays_Lineage
Curios i've had in those app a data collecting folder structure,
like db, files, and more, maybe a rootkit on my device???
I don't know, since i removed those my find7 works again really well,
what it didn't do since a long time in this year....
With best regards
Code looks fine and i'll recheck if the image was compromised or not or how, but later these days.
thank you for the quick hint to those files!
P.S.: I've dirty reflashed the image i used to install lineageOS, after the expected remove, and no these nightly seems not been compromised,
Sorry for the alert,
but in the last days many hacks occured in my private relationships with my dearest, so I was a little curios, but seems now clean on my device!
Thank You verry much,
and Kudos Kudos Kudos to your quick hint reply.
I just installed lineage-15.1-20180806-nightly-find7-signed.zip to replace my stock Oppo Find7 firmware on the weekend and after a few days with it, so far so good! I had to lose the LVM unfortunately, but I'd rather have an up to date OS.
The battery life seems shorter than the stock firmware. I can still get through the day, but down to 40 or 50% or less by 6PM instead of much more with the stock Oppo FW. I haven't tried tweaking any battery life settings yet though.
Two minor things with the install compared to the LineageOS howto - the SD card path was different to what was documented ( /internal_sd not /sdcard) , and I had to install open_gapps-arm-8.1-pico-20180812.zip (pico instead of the documented nano version)... but this was minor stuff and I got where I wanted to go.
Awesome. Thanks for this release. Everything (almost) works great. Feels like a new phone. Only video recording does not work. Any ideas ?

Got the latest build. All fine Thanks
Allthough its not supported i've got unified working. not reliable tho. the only way i got it working when flashing los and direct rebooting into recovery again and then flashing the cm-13.0-find7-unified-storage-patch.zip from the according thread. cuz the original link is dead incl mirror i got my copy uploaded to gdrive here. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sZ72qUD5P7qL4tsIF3MB-cQk9x9pamRR/view?usp=sharing
only drawback being you cant reboot anymore cuz that will somehow give you the your-sdcard-is-****ed message. havent found a reasonable routine so i guess you'll have to try your luck yourself and maybe give feedback?
Hi, could you disable CABC(Content Adaptive Brightness Control) or provide a way to disable it? The hardware of Find 7 use it and it really makes some troubles, brightness, color. Really thanks if you have that time
I read that the problem of heavy games crashing on Bacon (Oneplus One) was resolved recently with this commit https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/LineageOS/android_device_oneplus_bacon/+/218799/
I have the same problem with the Oppo Find 7/s (i.e. heavy games are crashing). As this device has the same processor and RAM as that of the Bacon, is it possible to get the same fix for Find 7 as well?

That commit has already been applied for Find7 - https://github.com/LineageOS/androi...mmit/80e1e7e5ffca2c69730eecc8c498423c2ea48463

[ROM]LineageOS 20 - Xiaomi Mi 8

Please note: I no longer maintain this ROM as my phone screen has cracked and I've moved on to a different device. Bgncm will probably continue to maintain it for mi8 as its similar to his other devices. Thanks for those that supported in the past and perhaps we will meet again in the future on a different device.
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 12, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.
GPL compliance:
Device tree source code: https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_xiaomi_dipper
Kernel source code: https://github.com/LineageOS/android_kernel_xiaomi_sdm845
Compatibility:
Compatible with Xiaomi Mi 8
Builds are based off the Xiaomi's Android 10 firmware.
Recommended firmware is latest MIUI stable firmware.

Notice:
No custom kernels are supported in this thread. Only stock kernel and official builds will be supported. No bug reports if that's not the case.
Installation:
Reboot to recovery
Format /system, /data and /cache
Install MIUI firmware
Install LineageOS zip package
Install a Google Apps package of your choice.
Important notes:
* Required * firmware version must be based on MIUI *-based builds.
Formatting data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage) is a must if MIUI was previously installed and device was encrypted.
All LineageOS team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!
@infrag
Thanks for keeping up the support for this device!
Excellent work!
Even though I would have preferred a version without Gapps (either Vanilla or microG).
Amazing news! Thank you
Nice, I was waiting for LOS 19
Thanks!
I'm now in lineageos 18.1 and can flash this directly, or first flash miui and then flash this

Upgrades from lineage-18.1 have not been tested by myself yet. If you want to upgrade I'd suggest wait till official builds roll out.
Can i flash this without format data? cz dipper is my daily driver and it's gonna take a long time for doing backup
running good, battery life is so-so
there is no google feed. Bug or there is something to activate?

Official builds wont include gapps.
I only included them in the first un-official builds as I cant find a flashable gapps build thats reliable at the moment to recommend.

Yes, i am waiting for Official builds NOT include gapps.
I like LineageOS because it doesn't include gapps.

Yup it is, but majority of us install gapps for all day to day needs, having both options will always be great
