i use GPRS antenna, for better you should use any antenna Wifi

Just did this, used an antenna from an old d-link router I had laying around.
And wow it works great! Now I can actually use my Bluetooth xbox controller without pointing it at the shield while sitting 1 meter from it ?

Congrats :good:

Nice I will try it. Another question. Am I guessing right that the antenna on the other side is the wifi antenna? Because I also want to improve the wifi signal of the shield.

In bottom PCB I remove shield cans, i can see name IC wifi & bluetooth (It's name Broadcom BCM4356, you can search datasheet on google).I guess that is bluetooth antenna (maybe this point for wifi antenna). i soldering external antenna and test with remote

Here overview in datasheet
The Cypress CYW4356 single-chip device provides the highest level of integration for a mobile or handheld wireless system, with
integrated IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac MAC/baseband/radio, Bluetooth 4.1 + EDR (enhanced data rate), FM receiver, and Alliance for
Wireless Power (A4WP) support. The wireless charging feature works in collaboration with the Wireless Power Transfer (WPT)
BCM59350 front-end IC. It provides a small form-factor solution with minimal external components to drive down cost for mass
volumes and allows for handheld device flexibility in size, form, and function. Comprehensive power management circuitry and
software ensure the system can meet the needs of highly mobile devices that require minimal power consumption and reliable
operation.

Boost infrared range to 8m

For a while I’ve wanted to use my BA as a universal remote, but the IR emitter was just too weak to be useful. A few days ago I successfully modded my BA and now I can control my TV from 8m away. I decided to post my experiences in case anyone else wants to do the mod.
I had heard the on some HP iPAQs, people have managed to replace a single resistor and got a huge increase in range so I decided to open up my BA and see if there was any resistor that was limiting current to the IR emitter. However, after looking through the datasheet for the BA's IR transceiver module (Agilent HSDL-3201), it became obvious that it was just not designed for consumer IR and I would have to replace it with a transceiver that was designed for consumer IR.
I started looking on the internet for a suitable replacement and after some searching I decided to buy two of these:
http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?SKU=1469607
Unfortunately this transceiver is not pin compatible with the existing one in the BA (none of the ones I looked at were), so I decided I would have to glue it on upside down and solder wires to it.
The replacement transceivers arrived a few days ago and I started the mod. After I opened up my BA and removed the backup battery, I started taking out the existing IR transceiver using a soldering iron and pliers. I was a bit too rough and ended up pulling up one of the pads on the PCB. Luckily the pad was the only one not connected to anything.
After I had removed the old IR transceiver, I soldered wires to the pads on the PCB. I then glued the new IR transceiver onto the PCB, upside down, and soldered the wires onto the transceiver.
Here is a wiring diagram showing the IR transceiver positioned upside down on the PCB, with pins facing upwards.

After I had reassembled my blue angel, I ran the novii remote software and tested it. Success! The software successfully learned all the commands from my original TV remote, and I was able to control my TV from the very back of my living room. I even went into the garden to test it, and I was still able to control my TV up to 8 metres away. The original TV remote control can control the TV from 10 metres away, but I’m not complaining.
I don’t use IrDA, but I tested it anyway to see if it still worked and it did. I was able to send a contact card from my BA to my old nokia phone 1.6m away and I was able to receive a contact card from the nokia phone 1.3m away. I have no idea if that’s an improvement over the old IR module or not since I never used the IrDA before this mod.
If anyone knows of any better software than novii please let me know. I’ve tried to use nevo but I couldn’t get it to work.
I’m sorry I didn’t take any pictures during the mod, but here’s a couple of the finished mod. I know my wiring looks bad, but it works.
I have
one question:
how much battery power it costs?
Did the battery draining much faster while using boosted irda?
By the way very nice idea
I must do something like this in my ba

Bluetooth Mice Known To Work

I am looking for Bluetooth mice that are known to work with the N7-2013 running 4.4.2 stock. I've looked for previous threads but most of the recommendations were pretty expensive. Also, I think some of the previous problems reported were using older versions of Android so I don't know if they still apply.
I recall reading that some of the Bluetooth problems were with devices that were older and that Bluetooth 3.0 devices worked better. Is this true? Should I restrict my seach to BT 3.0 mice?
It would be nice if there were some cheaper recommendations that are known to work. Also smaller and lighter would be nice, but not a huge deal.
So, can you please post a link to any Bluetooth mice you are successfully using with the N7-2013 running 4.4.2?
Thanks.

My MS 5000 works fine with my 4.4.2 stock N7 alone or in tandem with a BT keyboard.
When I use my Bluetooth mouse, my wifi becomes horrible. Any suggestions?

Guys, are you able to use BT mouse without a dongle connected to tablet with OTG cable? I want to order a cheap BT mouse from eBay, so I'm curious if it's working without a dongle

You do not need the OTG cable because the connection interface is bluetooth which is wireless. As long as the mouse is also bluetooth, it will work after connecting (pairing).
I've used the Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse without issue

This one worked for me too but then on my old Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 running Android 4.0 I guess haha.
The MS Bluetooth Sculpt Comfort Mouse no longer works directly in CM12 on my Tab Pro 8.4. The OS recognizes it as having a physical keyboard and blocks access to the built-in software keyboard.
I'm using a Ion e-blue mouse, I got it on aliexpress for about 8 bucks. The only issue i'm facing is relevant to the fact each time i turn it off i have to re-pair it again (unpairing first). For anything else it's really cool (and also small)

Review of DX portable wifi repeater w/lots of pics!!!

This is a mini review of DX original portable wifi repeater/router. http://dx.com/p/dx-original-portabl...white-ac-110-230v-eu-plug-294711#.UxlTGrCPL3h
Recently I was looking to extend a wireless coverage at home to make sure I get a strong signal throughout a house. As most of you can relate, smartphone bandwidth cost money unless you have unlimited plan, so we all trying to use wifi connection as much as we can. To be honest, I wasn't too familiar with a concept of wireless repeater so this devices turned out to be not exactly what I was looking for, but it's still a great accessory at a very low price of $20, and a number of you might find it very useful. That is why I decided to write a mini review.
Typically routers are bulky and take some space. This particular model, sold as an original design on dx.com, is very compact and simply plugs into your wall outlet. As you can see, the one I got actually had EU plug, but I believe soon dx will offer a version with US plug, or you can use a simple converter like the one I used in my review. There are two ways to use it. Either hook it out to your internet provider box (like a cable or FioS modem) with Ethernet cable and use it as standalone wireless router, or connect it wireless as a repeater to your existing wireless router. The only catch is when used as a repeater you gotta specify a different SSID. That's what I didn't realized before thinking I can set it up with a same ssid to hand-over connection as I'm walking away from original wireless router. Instead, if you are in a remote part of your house, or maybe in the backyard or in the garage where you get hardly any bars on your connection - you can use this repeater to extend your wireless range but you will have to login to it separately. It's just a matter of selecting this router from a list of available wireless devices and clicking to connect.
The product page on dx.com has a link to PDF manual which is very detailed and easy to follow. You can always check it out before deciding if this gadget is for you. Also it's control software, I'm including screen shots, is easy to follow and to setup as a repeater or a router. So if you are struggling with a wireless coverage inside or outside of your house, this is a great alternative to fix that.
Here are the pictures.

RJ45/LAN cable connector?

Is there a RJ45/LAN cable connector available for our Nexus 7?
I have installed a few very useful apps (IP tools, Fing, etc), they all work great but of course I need a WIFI connection before they are really useful.
At work I'm often in situations where there is no WIFI available or you just need to test through cable.
At the moment I need my laptop for this, would be great if I can do all with only my Nexus at hand.
Would such combination work on our beloved Nexus 7 (2013)?

Thanks, I'll let you know!
Just be careful what OTG cable you get. I have found a lot of them being very finicky! You can constantly lose you network connection.
Just received my OTG cable and Edimax EU-4208 (usb lan cable with ASIX AX88772B chipset) and it does not work OTB.
After flashing the bootloader through ADB mentioned here & here I can confirm it does work!
When doing a speedtest through http://speedtest2.nl and downloading a 1000mb.bin file I get a speed of 8 - 9MB/s.
Multiplied by 8 gives me a nice 70mbit/s, which should be pretty decent for an USB2.0 usb LAN cable.
(I have a 120mbit cable connection)
Only downside I found it does not add an ethernet option to my Android Settings Menu.
That sucks because I'm not able to set any network settings this way (IP, DNS, Subnet, Gateway etc).
Is there a way to add this? The OTG cable + lan adapter is purely for network testing etc, so setting an IP, DNS etc would be kinda mandatory.
Also a few apps do not work without a wifi connection, for instance: Fing. Is there a way to trick the apps? I already tried an XPosed module called: Hack Connectivity Service without luck...

FM Tuner question

I recently purchased a Hizpo Android headunit with 9.0 it has 4gb of RAM and 64 internal storage. Anyway my question is, I noticed that the mp3's audio seems to sound alot better than just the FM Tuner. The FM audio sounds really weak. Is there any adjustments I can make to the settings or is that just the way it is. I have a 10 inch kicker Sub that is self amplified and sounds good on the mp3's but on the Tuner it is almost non existent. I don't have the external remote gain for the Sub, but is that what I need to get the sound closer to where the mp3's sound? The unit is installed in a 2007 Ford supercrew cab truck.

Hi,
I have looked on amazon.ca and wasn't sure which of the several units were what you were recommending.
There was a Mr Ho product with many positive reviews. here is a link;
https://www.amazon.ca/Mr-Ho-Antenna...ar+radio+signal+booster&qid=1605705299&sr=8-9
Can you share details on the product you recommended ?
Perhaps a web link or product name etc.
Thanks From Nova Scotia,
I've seen this.

I used to have a cheap unit that I got from Ebay. It worked well enough to watch live TV through using PDA net. Great for long drives. My boss and I watched a Monday night game when we had to make a five hour drive. Be careful though. My TV service was noticeably lower than the MP3 volume and equalizer effect. I had to get a get an app to fix the issue. This was on an Android 4.2 and it was five years ago. I do know that they have apk's that balance the sound. Another option is to look at the code. Its not too difficult to figure out. This morning I found the one on my phone that sets the Bluetooth volume way low when it is channeled through a speaker. It was in the ".etc" file. Coders usually do a fair job at labeling each section. It was easy to see that the headphone, call, and hearing aid were all set with maximum values of 4800 with steps for each volume reference at double the speaker that was set at 2800. Careful with this though. If you're driving the sound through an amplifier, as I think you are and should with 10" subs, then you stand a chance of burning up the amp and/or blowing the speakers if you put too much out from the head unit pre-amp. Its better to adjust the MP3 down rather than the FM up.
