Rockscout not working on S9 - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Hi there, i've been trying to get rockscout working on my new Galaxy S9 in my Toyota C-HR.
I activate mirrorlink and connect the phone, I can start rockscout on my car's display it launches but then it shows me all the available music apps greyed out with a plug icon next to them.
When I click on an app (ie Spotify) a message pops up which tells me that my phone must be connected to a mirrorlink enabled headunit. "Funny", as it is displaying the message on a the display of my car.
So I'm kinda going round in circles, any help or suggestions would be REALLY appreciated!

One X Bluetooth Phone Call Issues (Vauxhall/Opel Corsa link-up)

What's up everybody,
Just posting a thread because one of my best mates bought a black One X on my recommendation because it's a total powerhouse of a handset, except he's having some issues connecting it over bluetooth to his car.
He's got a lovely brand new 12 plate Vauxhall (in the UK, Opel elsewhere and i assume they all use the same software) Corsa with a built-in Bluetooth car kit. His phone connects fine, he can even dial from the steering wheel and start the call, but all audio takes place through the phone speaker. We've tried pairing, unpairing, playing around with a whole host of bluetooth settings, but call audio always takes place through the phone speaker rather than the car itself.
This was never the case with his old Nexus S, or my HD7, but our teacher's One X and another friend's One X have the same problem: no audio routes itself through the car's speakers.
Does anybody have a solution? Has anybody got a similar problem?
HTC one X
Hi, the problem is an app called "car". It takes control when ever you connect your phone to a car kit. Open the app, it has a steering wheel above it and click on the settings, where it displays the bluetooth symbol. Un-click all the auto launch and auto connect settings. That should cure it.
please help..
Hi,
Guys I am having the same issue in my one x version 4.0.3. I can't pick up calls and talk straight from my car's speakers . i have first to pick up from the from and switch the speaker to htc speaker then I have to switch the phone to my car speaker again. At this point the call is heard through the car's speakers. !! PLZ HOW CAN I FIX THIS ??
Me Too!
My car does this too, only way to get sound is go into the menu on the car and tick "Free Speech"
Hoping 4.0.4 or 4.1 fixes this!
HTC's advice was return the phone....

MirrorLink

Has anyone been able to get the USB/Bluetooth version (that is, non HDMI) of MirrorLink to work?
I have a Pioneer AVH-X2700BS head unit. With the HU in MirrorLink mode, I connect the phone via Bluetooth, then connect the USB. The phone gives a notification that it is in MirrorLink mode with a "press to configure" button. When pressed, it goes to the setting menu with the MirrorLink mode enable checkbox. There are no compatible apps listed there.
The HU makes no indication that it is working with MirrorLink, other than it shuts down access to the other Bluetooth features like Bluetooth Audio and Pandora. However, the HU also doesn't present the application screen. I keep wondering if there should be some type of MirrorLink application, other than the OS support, on the phone.
By comparison, Pioneer has their AppRadio One mode that functions in a similar fashion, but makes a different set of applications available to use on-screen. That mode seems to work, but is severely limited by the low number of apps that support it.
This is exactly what I'm seeing with an AVIC-8000NEX and the N910A. I just recently switched from an iPhone 5S, so I hadn't really done any research on MirrorLink. Thinking it might only work with specific apps, I searched for "MirrorLink" in the Play Store and downloaded an app that appeared to be some kind of launcher application for MirrorLink (?). Didn't work either, promptly uninstalled.
If it makes you feel any better, the Apple CarPlay functionality on these higher end head units turned out to be a turd. It was the main reason I went to iPhone for a while.

[Q] Bluetooth autoplay on connect

Hi everyone,
I'm having a problem that I think shouldn't happen on this phone.
I'm stock with the latest January update on Android 10.
Info: this problem was present before the update to 10.
Whenever I connect any Bluetooth device (airpods, car, moto intercom ,etc) I have to manually unpause the music to get it to start.
This happens on every player (Samsung Music, Google Play, YouTube premium, etc)
This is the first Android phone I have that doesn't do this and that shouldn't be seeing it's top tier.
I've looked online and it seems that all Samsung phones have this feature and the only topics I get are how to disable it !?
Can anyone shed some light ? Is it happening to you as well ?
Thanks
I may not have the answer that you want to hear but I did find a temporary solution. There's an app in the play store nRF Connect that works. Slide over to bonded, put devices in pairing mode and hit scan and wah lah. Any questions I'll do the best I can to help.
I've noticed the same on my galaxy buds, but when I connect another pair of wireless earbuds that i sometimes use they connect as soon as i turn them on when Bluetooth is activated, without me manually having to go into the settings and do it. Not sure the reason for this. Would've thought the earbuds that's actually made by Samsung would be the ones connecting right away.

Hej...
I don't if this would help You...
When I got the Note 10+ there's Was, out of the box on initial settings, active few Bixby Routines... and that, till i figure out this, was driving me crazy... When I turn Bixby Routines off everything back to normal...
Well I've had a similar problem. For me the issue is that it always autostart even tho I have BT autoplay unchecked in the car. If I have listen to any music, audio books, podcasts and turn them of when I exit the car, not leave them in the background, they will start playing even if the cars media system is offline.
Works perfectly with my wifes OnePlus 6, but not for me. Extreamly annoying to noticed that the audio book is playing after a 60min drive and I haven't heard anything..
I tried the app Tasker, it was a compleat waste of $4 for me anyway, didn't work, will try nRF Connect now.
I don't want to have BT of due to that I aways have my Jabra buds with me so that I can talk while driving if needed.

Question No Google voice commands when smartwatch is connected

Hey guys, pretty sure a lot of people out there are using a smartwatch along with their Pixel so maybe someone can help me with this: when my Galaxy Active 2 smartwatch is connected most of the time I can not use voice input with Google Assistant / search. When I wake up the Assistant by long-pressing power the device starts listening but apparently can't hear me. When I disable Bluetooth or power off the watch everything's working just fine.
The weird part is this though: most of the time the watch is connected, a Bluetooth icon with two dots on the left and right can be seen in the status bar, but not always! And only when the icon is NOT there, while the watch is STILL connected and fully usable, voice commands DO work! What on earth is going on there?
Same thing with the camera app: when the watch is connected and the icon is there, the cam app tells me a Bluetooth microphone is connected. When the watch is connected and the icon is NOT there, the app doesn't tell me. With the cam it is not a problem either way though because here I can choose what audio source I wanna use, while in the Google app I can't.
Any ideas?
It seems that your Galaxy Active 2 gets recognized by the P6 as a Bluetooth microphone capable device, ergo it won't use the in-build phone microphones.
Does it have microphones, by the way?
You can always change the system "primary" source of a microphone/sound source by going into the Sound menu (press volume rocker, press on three dots, change there or go into See more).

Yeah I'm looking for a way to do that, change primary audio source, but I don't see any options for that in the sound or any other menu...
I'll add another bug to the list.
When a watch capable of making and receiving calls (Huawei Watch GT2 Pro) is connected, initiating a phone call from a BT headset/earbuds starts a phone call through the headset, but as soon as the phone call connects, the audio switches from BT headset to phone internal speaker.
You have to disable the "phone" function of the BT settings for the smartwatch to get this to work properly.
This didn't use to be the case, so it's clearly a new bug either in P6P or Android 12.

Bought first android head unit

Hi all,
Recently bought my first android head unit, from Erisin.
Everything works great, just had a few newbie questions.
Its running Android 10 and I am using Car Launcher Pro.
I have my S20 Ultra routine set up to automatically start my phone wireless hotspot so the head unit has Internet connectivity.
1. How do I create speed dial buttons? Opening the phone app and searching through the phone book while driving is distracting.
2. Although I am yet to hook up my reverse camera, I noticed that everytime I put it in reverse, the music stops. How do I keep music playing (I'm using spotify)?
3. What is speedplay? Each time I open Torque it automatically opens this SpeedPlay and switches focus. Its a PITA. Can I safely uninstall it?
I just got my first Android HU also - I went to Nova7 launcher for more control over the aesthetics and layout, and really like the change so far.
On mine, there is a setting in the Android settings menu for the music pause during reverse camera input.
Is ZLINK included in your list of pre-installed applications? It's what I'm using for wireless CarPlay (does AA also) - and allows me to use Siri to initiate calls handsfree from the address book. Mine pairs with the phone automatically upon startup.
