Huawei has released the kernel source code for Kirin 980 and Kirin 970. I dont understand why there are no roms for this phone. https://www.xda-developers.com/huawei-kernel-source-code-kirin-980-kirin-970-android-pie/
Just a thought; wouldn't one need an unlocked bootloader to install a custom recovery, and then flash a custom ROM?
Since Huawei has gone to some length to hinder owners of this device to unlock the bootloader, the developers might feel reluctance to develop for it?

Hello everyone. I'm in China currently and I'll stay here for a while. I'm planning to buy Xiaomi Mi 6 from Taobao. Here is the link
So am I going to be able to use Google services? Play Store and all other if I buy this phone? Also, if not, I guess that I need to root my phone and install custom rom in order to get Google services. Is there any way to root and install custom rom as well as TWRP without using the computer?
Thanks
I've been to China and I bought a redmi not 3 there, in my experience there should be no problem; you buy the phone, unlock the bootloader and switch from China to global rom. Probably there is also the possibility to install Gapp on the Chinese rom. The only problem is that if you wanna use Google and it's services in China you better have a VPN
Oh, I understand. But it's not the same. Models are different. Actually I'm not sure. It's going to be my first Xiaomi phone. So far I'm familiar with Xperia and HTC. Love them both but "high" end devices are getting too expensive. I'm also considering to buy OnePlus 3T. What do you guys think which is better and easier for unlocking, rooting and installing custom roms?
I repeat again that I'm not familiar with these brands, never touched them actually I Need your help! And don't forget that I don't have PC. Unlocking bootloader, root, recovery and rom must be done without Pc. Help help help

Just unlock bootloader and flash Global rom via MiFlash. It's that easy.
My device is the Chinese model. Bought from a seller who just imports them and flashes the global ROM
The mi 6 models are all identical.
Global is the same as Chinese anyway just a different model number since they had to get more legal things pushed through to sell it internationally.
Buy the Chinese model in China. It will be cheapest there.
Then when you are back in a country which supports Google services you can unlock the boot loader, then flash using Mi flash to the global ROM.
Since the phone is identical this works fine. I was running the global ROM on mine (now custom ROMs).
Really a great phone and no issues for me.
Also checkout the mi mi 2 it looks pretty awesome but for a "smaller" device Mi 6 is fantastic.

Xiaomi follows the same standard for all their models..
Want to Unlock the bootloader?
-Make a Xiaomi account
-Link the phone to your Xiaomi account
-Request them to allow you to unlock the bootloader
-Waits 72 hours
-Unlock bootloader.
Thank you all for replying, appreciate your help. I'm going to buy Mi 6. Actually I meet a guy today who is willing to help me and he knows about these things. So, buying, unlocking bootloader, flashing official global rom>using Google services Later if I want I need to root device install custom recovery and new rom. We'll see. Any recommendations for rom, with no bugs

Thanks! It's not overheating?
No, it's just too large for me. I like to use phone with one hand. I'm not a fan of displays larger than 5.5 inches so I'll stick with Mi 6.

This gapp works perfectly on china miui 8/9.

LOL! IN YOUR DREAMS BUDDY! xD
Oppo-RealMe = Won't allow you to unlock your bootloader!
Best Specs killed by bad OEM+OS!

Hello Mate,
You are in the opposite direction.
Kingroot and other such rooting apps only root old devices ( by old I mean devices launched literally 2-3 years back ). Technology has changed now. And also the Android Security and OS integration has changed with time.
New devices now have to have a custom recovery first and then you can root the device through that custom recovery with Magisk OR SuperSU. And to install the custom recovery, you need to unlock the bootloader.
So going step wise in ascending order it is --> Unlock Bootloader --> Install Custom Recovery --> Flash Root App ( Magisk / SuperSU ) --> Enjoy

Point # 1 : Realme phones do not have a fastboot recovery installed. So there is literally no way to unlock the bootloader without entering fastboot recovery mode ( correct me if I am wrong ).
Point # 2 : Even if there is any way to unlock the bootloader, there is no Official support from Realme for unlocking the bootloader which means you lose the warranty the moment you unlock your bootloader.
Point # 3 : Realme is currently working on their own brand new UI different than Color OS which will take at least Q3 of 2019 so don't expect any Official support.
What we can do :
ALL the Realme users should put up a request to Realme for providing Official bootloader unlocking support just like Xiaomi so that we can all enjoy some cool custom roms or maybe tweak the Color OS as we want. The more the requests the more Realme will listen to us.
A dedicated Realme Official Community Forum is going to start on October 31 where we all can put our requests for providing bootloader unlocking support as well as for changes and bug fixes in the current Color OS. I guess the request for changes in the Color OS UI will only happen in the new Realme UI as they will take suggestions from us that what we want and then apply that in the new Realme UI which they will provide later. Also we know that Realme will still be related to Oppo for at least 1-2 years more so don't expect a BIG difference like a nearly Stock Android type of Realme UI. The new Realme UI will definitely be somewhat like a copy of iOS just like the ColorOS of Oppo and Funtouch of Vivo.
( FYI : Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus are all brother companies who are under 1 single Parent company which is BBK Electronics and even if Realme has now seperated from Oppo, I assume it is still under BBK Electronics, so all these 4 smartphones companies are actually just 1 single company operating with different sub brand name.

Yes dude you are correct. I know that unlocking bootloader isnt available for realme. The give an option of OEM unlocking which is just of no use without fastboot. I just wanted to try old methods XD. Btw, if u google, a lot of other sites show how to install twrp in realme phones. I didnt try cuz m afraid i will brick my phone. Should I try?

The article says that flashing TWRP requires an unlocked bootloader and links to this article which ultimately says
This article is under development and needs an update. OPPO has high security on their smartphones & needs individual development. This is a newly launched smartphone, therefore, will take some time. I will update the article ASAP

Yes.
It is a clickbait.
Today at the end of 2018 the most popular, trusted, secure and REAL Android development forum is XDA and developers around the globe put forth their Custom ROM development only on XDA.
It is useless, also not safe to trust any private website for any kind of custom Rom. XDA is the only and ultimate place to search for and trust on any custom ROM :fingers-crossed:

Bro cudnt find this post on madhav sir's twitter page
Hi Guys,
I have an issue with my realme 2 pro (Color OS 5.2), When i make any application like Mcafee Mobile security as a device manager, it keep giving yellow floating notification for system security risk, I have tried multiple things but it doesn't go. Interestingly, i have other apps also set as DEvice manager but the notification only comes when i make McAfee Antivirus as Device manager. I heard that its a known issue with ColorOS, can anybody suggest any fix for this or facing the same issue?

Hello, here are many peoples they have more ideas as i.
What do you think, i have write to huawei that they give me an bootloader unlock code.
Why?! The Google Problem what Huawei have now.
They cant give all peoples a waranty for security patches for future. I cant use Anti Virus Software why i dont have root. I need root to save my phone.
Huawei have say that they give us a update for Huawei P20 but now nothing.
With Root we can make our Phone safe self.
What do you think. will Huawei give use Bootloader unlock codes back again ?!
I think no.
i had the same idea i bought my phone on last saturday. And now i try to unlock it to install lineage...
by the way, none will buy a huawai if they cannot use facebook, whatsapp e.g. in the future so give out unlock codes will still open the market for some of us.
Huawei is reportedly working on a new OS that supports Android apps/apks, which means it's probably based on Linux. The US ban shouldn't affect existing phones, you will still receive a few security updates, but no major Android version system updates. With root you could flash custom roms that are updated frequently with security patches. So I'll have to agree, as root opens up so many possibilities. Cheers!

I've tried to unlock using DC-unlocker or HCU but my latest versions (C432B180) is not compatible.
Can I downgrade to a previous version (i.e. B160) using androidhost.ru rom (dload method) and after retry to read the bootloader code?
From which version does dc-unlocker work?
thanks in advance
Does anyone know if any dev is working on a custom rom for this phone?
We iqoo 3 users should put pressure on them to release sources for devs.
I think bootloader unlocking is a more pressing matter.
this seller send a device already rooted.... so is it possible to unlock BL ?

I know the kernel sources have not been released. And bootloader not been unlocked but still I see no developer interested in development of anything. Also no users are interested in it, why so? Will it be same story for the future?:crying:

Bro Iqoo has not reveled any kernel source & device bootloader unlock method so it's not possible to develop custom roms for Iqoo 3 and if you r using mobile devices only for development then go with brands like oneplus, Mi, Redmi, Pixel, Poco etc...
