Hello,
I transferred a normal ~100MB 320 kbps MP3 file in my phone. Since then, it wont play any MP3 or AAC file with a bit-rate higher than 192 kbps (I think) . Everything worked fine before that (1+ year), as almost all my music is in 256 or 320 kbps.
I tried transferring such files from my computer, or downloading test ones from the internet, but still wont work.
I then tried to use another music player. I tried the stock "default" android music player, same result as when I use Phonograph. I also ran CCleaner, cleared the cache and dalvik cache from TWRP, moved my music to another folder, messed with different debug modes when transferring files, still the same problem.
It's doing really weird things. After a couple of seconds, It sometimes starts playing, but without any sound. When I adjust the volume, it jumps back to the start. Other times it wont play at all, will be stuck at 0:00. Also, the first track plays normally right after I reboot my phone. As soon as I play another one, it starts over again.
Here are my specs:
LG Nexus 5
Lineage OS 14.1-20181226 Hammerhead
Magisk installed (latest version)
Music folder location: Nexus5/Internal shared storage/Music (in the same folder as DCIM and Downloads)
All the files play great on my computer, and my Nexus can play MP3 files from the web on Chrome Mobile.
I should also mention that my storage was almost full when I uploaded the 100 MB file that apparently caused the problem. Also, 192kbps and WAV files still work great.
I can still view images, videos, and I haven't encountered any other problem regarding internal storage.
I was wondering if any of you have encountered this kind of weird problem before, and if I needed to reinstall LineageOS from scratch or if there was an easy fix instead.
Thank you for your time!

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within one of the following threads that's specific to your device and variants.

Touch Pro 2/Tilt 2 with AT&T: I get a LOT of crashes, followed by the "white page of death" (the offer to send the error report to Microsoft). This happens in a variety of music players except of course Windows Media Player. Most of the time, it seems to happen when I'm browsing songs by directory; I store my mp3 media on a storage card.
Any thoughts or anyone have similar issues? I suspect it's because some things just aren't ready for WM 6.5 but wanted to poll the experts on here.
I have the stock AT&T rom minus the crap (CrapScraper), and some registry tweaks from this site for network speed enhancement and a couple minor things.
I've had no such trouble, but just for giggles, see if you have the same poblems playing files from the internal memory. I have a car stereo that can play files from USB media, and it would disconnect and crash back to the main menu when it came across problems with the SD filesystem.
I also have the same problem here.
All the players crash except for "Windows Media Player".
I still have the stock rom and i've tryed with a SD-Card of 4GB and also with one of 16GB.
I've get the most stable results after i deleted all the "AlbumArt" files, but it didn't solve the problem.
P.S.: i've also tryed formating the storage card!
I use PocketMusic and have used it for years. Works perfect for me - and works the way I do: I have my music divided up by folder to segment my variety of musical tastes. If you use WinAmp, this will feel just about the same (in fact, it uses a ton of WinAmp skins in WinAmp mode).
It does all the usual playlists too, so you can just play using those.

Hello,
I've noticed that some of my songs don't show on my Note 2, when I use sing Meridian. I transferred again the missing songs to the phone but even though I saw them for a while, as soon as I rebooted the phone they disappeared. I can see them with ES Explorer but they show zero bytes (look like broken links) and can't be played from there (normally I can play files from ES Explorer which will launch the music player).
I transferred again the files, with the same results.
Shockingly I found out that if I take the 64GB SanDisk place it in an adapter and stick it in my laptop, Windows will see all files with no problem and will play them smoothly.
I'm dumbfounded.
So as it stands I can't play a few tens of songs on my Note 2 (4.1.1) and can't even see the files, only with the laptop's help
Any idea what's going on?
Thanks.
For about a year and a half, I used a Sandisk 64 GB SDXC card on my phone and it worked great. I recently bought a Tablet, so I decided to use the 64 GB card on it and replace that card with a HC 32 GB Class 10 Micro SD Card. Initially, everything went by smoothly, I would be able to listen to music and even play various formats like .WAV & .FLAC with PowerAMP, and some with the standard android player.
Now, any and every song file I play, whether it be MP3, WAV, FLAC, or M4A doesn't even load up - It just outright tells me that file format is invalid, and when I check for the file folders within the music apps, I get a "0 Files Found" message, though I can see the files whenever I use a file manager app or root explorer app.
I've tried everything, even uninstalling & reinstalling poweramp, wiping dalvik & cache, rebooting the system & accessing the files via an internal media player(Root Explorer), using different music apps - nothing works.
The funny thing is, when I access the files while the S3 is connected to my computer, they play just fine.
Has this ever happened to anyone? What could I have done wrong?
Weird!
Try clearing data on media storage. Then reboot and wait 15-30 mins for it to rebuild its database (depends on how much you have). Then try again.

That could possibly work...how do I do that?
On app manager, find media storage, clear data, reboot.

For those of you who use Google's Play Music with your px5 (mine is a Dasaita Octa 4/32 Oreo), can you confirm that offline/downloaded libraries work on your unit?
Mine will download fine but regardless of whether they are stored on the internal memory or on an external SD, the next day, they're all gone. It won't even see the library names until I'm connected to Google again and requires a download again at that point. Google's CS is baffled, they've had me reload the app numerous times, scrub, change settings...nada. It applies to playlists, stations and purchased music. All gone each day. Streaming works fine...IF live connected to the net. There are no problems with other google family apps and their downloads offline, including maps and YT Music.
I'd like to know if others with similar factory software and hardware are using that service successfully or if they are encountering conflicts as well.
Thanks.
I have same issue, though i did a fresh download on Internal (NOT sd card, NOT usb) and it has been working no issues. If i use the other 2 the library disappears or says its there when connected to internet (even if i have downloaded only)

When you say that you did a fresh download to the internal, are you talking about the app? (I always load apps to the internal) Or your libraries? I've loaded the libraries internal, to the SD, at high rate, at low rate, 1 list, 5 lists, set to wi-fi only, unset for wi-fi only, streaming rates changed, memory scrubs...Google is baffled, I'm baffled.
I had them occasionally disappear on my pixel 2 when it was still on oreo, but not at this rate or this entirety. I assumed that it was Google's always-move-it-to-the-cloud at work, when storage was getting tight, but I've got 40 gbs sitting open between internal and SD on this.
i'm talking about the music itself. Sorry for late reply but didn't get notification of update in thread.
Hello all, i have tried today my brand new Gt3. It looks really good but I have issues copying mp3 files to it. For some reason the transfer always hangs after I copied over 10-15 songs. When it hangs the transfer stops at 0% and restating the app and or watch does not allow to continue. The mp3 files (I tried different ones) play well on various other devices. Any suggestions? (I have over 1.5gb free memory on the watch)
Update: I think I found it. It seems that the GT3 does not like songs with a dash in the name. The funny part is that it actually downloads it to watch (and plays it) - but any other song AFTER is not copied. After deleting the song with the dash in the name all is good...
