Hello, so recently I got the A3 and noticed it's from Italy (language of first boot, manuals etc), however I'm in Greece... Normally this shouldn't affect Anything (and plus it's nice that Italy got Feb 2018's patches while Greece is still on Jan 2018's) however there is one app that installed its Italian variant that wouldn't work in Greece so I had to download the app from the play store (Samsung members) and some regional settings that defaulted to Italy. Sim works fine and stuff but I'm wondering if this will affect something... Anyway the model is SM-A320FL and it's unlocked... Can I flash Greece's firmware on it? It currently has ITV firmware... Also, which variant of the Greek firmware is suitable for an unlocked phone (The EUR one I imagine)
Also, will this void the warranty
UPDATE: I flashed the greek firmware, however after being disappointed that a lot of features, mainly in the camera app were absent, I decided to reflash italy's firmware and lo' and behold all my regional settings problems were fixed! Turns out that the Sim card fixed everything... I didn't have a Sim at the time of first getting this phone so it was sort of half Italian half Greek... Moral of the story... If you set up a phone from a foreign country, for the love of God do it with your sim card in the phone! For some reason Samsung pay is in italian but that's ok I'm too young to use Samsung pay, much less a credit/debit card anyway...

Yeah you're right... I'll probably return to italy's anyway since I'm a bit disappointed a few features like the camera effects are missing..
I'm trying to get the USA version of Samung Pay working on my SM-G9600 (International Unlocked Snapdragon S9). Unfortunately, my active CSC is currently set to TTT (Trinidad/Tobago... not sure how, I flashed a CHO firmware, haha), so even when I have my Samsung Account and AT&T SIM card inserted, opening S-Pay just gives me an error, "Unable to connect to Samsung Pay temporarily. Try again later."
To remedy this, I think my best option would be to flash a new CSC from a different region? However, I don't really understand how Samsung's CSC system works; I've tried researching it, but I haven't found anywhere that really explains in detail what CSC actually does, single-CSC vs multi-CSC, etc... Can anyone give me a summary of all the major parts? Or at least point me towards a good resource to learn about it?
However, I have more practical, direct questions:
Could I flash my G9600 with just the CSC (or better, HOME_CSC) of a USA Snapdragon variant, like the U1? Or would that break things, since it's a different model number? Would that be likely to get me a working Samsung Pay?
I guess I should flash the CSC (or better, HOME_CSC) of a different region that also carries the G9600? Of the regions that carry the G9600 (China/Latin America), I believe the only countries that support Samsung Pay are Brazil, Mexico, and Puerto Rico (and Hong Kong, but only with Hong Kong banks? I think.) If using a CSC from the US is a bad idea, which of these would be best? I'm guessing Puerto Rico, since it's most closely related to the USA, but the only PCT firmware on Updato currently has the v1 bootloader, but I'm already on the v2 bootloader (2ARE6), so I don't think I can use it.
I would guess that the next best option would be Mexico, since it's pretty close to the USA, and I see a firmware with the v2 bootloader for it on Updato. However, I'm not familiar with that region code. Is MXO a specific carrier in Mexico? Or is it the carrier unlocked firmware, like U1 is in the US?

Yes! Dual SIM is not affected by which SM-G9600 firmware you flash. The thing to be wary about would be if you tried to flash a different model's firmware to it (e.g: G960U), since there is no Dual SIM among the U models. Although if I had to guess, the Dual SIM settings would probably still work fine (assuming the U firmware didn't brick it otherwise).
Have you found a fix for this problem, are you able to use samsung pay here in US?
Did you change the csc only or flash the whole frameware?

I'm also wondering about flashing just the CSC on a dual SIM device. I have a Note 9 dual SIM that will not get Volte, so I was thinking about flashing the U1 CSC to see if it would fix it. Does anyone have any advice?

Hey guys...I have a Note 10 plus 5G from UK, but I am using it in another country (Romania). We have 5G here as well, so this is not the problem. The firmware on the phone is not the latest, but it doesnt find the new one via OTA. I checked the firmware site and there are the August one there. So the question is, if I upgrade via Odin, with one of those FW, will it lock to an UK carrier? Or a German one, or other? Or will it remain unlocked and no issues there?

If the phone is unlocked. The firmware you install on it will not lock it..

If you use the multi-csc OXM it will change as per below.
I recently obtained a Samsung S20+ SM-G9860. However, I am in the US and am intending to flash the AT&T firmware for the SM-G986U. When I try to do this, I get a secure check fail on the PIT file due to the differing model. Is there a way to circumvent this? The two models have identical hardware from what I can see.
Is it possible to do this, and what is the process for doing this if it is indeed possible?
You cannot flash a rom built for a snapdragon chipset on a phone with a exynos chipset

The hardware isn't identical, SM-G986U is a Single SIM Device, your's is a Dual SIM.. TGY is the CSC in your device and even if you could flash SM-G986U Firmware the CSC would not change, it will still be TGY. If you're looking to get full AT&T call functionality on your device it's not possible as the CSC doesn't support AT&T compatibility. Firmware is CSC specific as well.

But mine has two IMEI numbers though 1 for physical and another for esim, HOWEVER the esim option to add another QR code for another network is not visible. Its like the device is locked for VERIZON esim use only.
Oh well, guess gotta wait for another few month for newer updates to be able to use another network esim or firmware flashing that can enable this option soon...

The device is likely still locked by Verizon. What is your motivation to change the Firmware to SM-G9860, do you live in Hong Kong?

I bought my phone online.. When I start up my phone it says Verizon, but its unlocked though because I can use any country physical simcard. Like right now im using my local simcard in Malaysia. I live in Malaysia and the reason I want to flash rom my SM-G986U device to Hong Kong firmware is so that I can use any eSim network in my country for my other network phone number.... If its a software for eSim that I can get for firmware that will be very helpful. Because the main local Malaysian samsung s20+ 5G firmware model is base on Exynos 990 which I doubt will fit for my US phone model..

Mix and matching firmware typically has more success on Exynos International Variants since they are Multi-CSC Enabled Devices. So if you have a British CSC (VOD) you may have success flashing German Firmware (VD2) since both CSC's are already stored in the device however even then some call features may not work. Snapdragon Devices don't have Multi-CSC's and as mentioned previously the Firmware is CSC Specific, they're made for one another. IF you had an Unlocked Bootloader, which you don't, there may be a method to modify the CSC once you root the device.. I did follow a thread a couple of years back where a gal had some success modifying her CSC on a Snapdragon Device but I believe that was a Galaxy S8. Also, I'm still curious if the word "eSim" actually appears in the SIM Management Screen on your device.

Damn.. that is some nice insights.. I read a thread somewhere too that US SM-G986U cannot and will not be able to enable its OEM or unlocked bootloader.. the eSim actually doesnt appear in the Sim Management Screen on my device. I really want to upload some links of the screenshot but for now I cant do anything as Im a new member.. I just have to wait for the network shop to open up to change my current esim card to physical simcard.. its been 2 months plus of this coronavirus lockdown and our network providers cant do much about it too..
Anyways I really appreciate the insights, like you said even if I could flash in Hong Kong SM-9860 in to my US SM-G986U, I might run into some software or calls dysfunctionalities..

u typically cannot flash hk/china firmware onto us devices bcuz those models r typically oem unlockable and they make sure ppl cant just flash the firmware to a u model and unlock tye bl.. theyre typically signed with dif keys and would most likely fail instantly to flash

Not possible, the only options are flashing the SM-G9860 China or Hong Kong FW.

I purchased an A52s 5G (SM-A528B/DS, snapdragon version) last week. I never had a Samsung before so I’m learning now about CSC and such.
I noticed that I don’t have the call recording function even though my country should support it (ILO). As it turns out the device has XSG CSC (I guess it’s a non-official parallel import).
I gathered information around the forums and I’m trying to understand if I can change the CSC by factory reseting and doing the device setup while my ILO SIM card is installed.
Apologies if my questions are stupid and the answer is obvious, but I couldn’t piece it together.
I’m trying to avoid tripping Knox to retain my warranty.
I read somewhere that ILO and XSG are part of the same multi-CSC group (OJM) and that it should work?
I read somewhere else that it no longer works on One UI 3.1/Android 11 versions?
I read somewhere else again that samkey may be a viable solution?
So should I try just by factory resetting the phone? Or try samkey? Or?
Is there any way to change CSC on the fly and avoid having to factory reset the device?

I used to require a SIM to change the CSC but was able to do without it this time.
Doesn't trip Knox. There's a list of countries that details which have call recording built in.

To anyone who might encounter this in the future, My phone was bought trough GoMobile a parallel importer in Israel who didn't have call recordings available although the official one had.
I used SAMKEY in order to change the CSC into "ILO" the Israeli CSC and it worked getting me back the recordings and even had gotten OTA's after it.
I bought an A52s 5G on Amazon UK, and the model that arrived was a Romanian one. I find two things very odd: there is nothing outside the box to indicate that the device is not a UK one (product code would suffice), and when opening the box (which was untampered, as expected) it had a UK plug charger, adding to the fact that the device was destined for the UK market. The back of the device shows a sign for compliance with UK CA standards, and booting it first time, it greeted me in English. However, soon after I figured out the shortcomings and I found that CSC is set to ROM. Factory resetting the phone with a UK sim didn't make much difference however this time the phone greeted me in Romanian. While I've resolved the issue with.. the usual method, I find it dodgy and either the seller went to great lengths to hide the originating country or Samsung is creating these devices targetting Romania but actually making them look British, for.. reasons? Both possibilities are weird.

did you succeed? do you have call recording?
For some reason I've never been able to buy a Samsung that used a single sku CSC.
Even with ICCID locked devices they always shipped with the multi-csc/multi-csc2, so I've always been able to use a SIM Card to change out carriers unless the EFS/CSC partitions blocked it partially.
And even in those couple cases, I've always been able to cross-flash carrier firmware for that device to switch networks when need be.
This method even allowed me to use my AT&T locked Galaxy Note5 with T-Mobile Firmware. The only bug was the AT&T Modem's lack of hardware support for all of the TMO network bands.
Other than that. I even bested the Geek Squad at Best Buy...
This method worked on my A32x 5G.
